Kids-free cruising ends December 12th.

For those of you who would prefer to sail without kids on board, the fine print of a recent email noted that Princess will start allowing fully vaccinated children to sail starting December 13th.

Personally, I don't mind the kids, as long as they aren't pushing every button on the elevator, or running around unsupervised, but I know there are a few grumps amongst us that prefer adults-only cruising. If that includes you, sail before December 13th.

Based on the CDC's recommendation beginning December 13, 2021, we can extend cruising opportunities to children that are also fully vaccinated. Princess is committed to operating vaccinated cruises as defined by the CDC at least through February 28, 2022. For details visit Princess.com/CruiseHealthFAQ.

I have been on over 50 cruises and only seen one little girl that was a terror. I really blame the parents for her behavior. One night she was running around the dining room and her parents never looked up to see where she was.

Agreed. When a child misbehaved IMHO there are only 3 reasons:

1. Incapable parents

2. Too tired (parents should take them to room so they can calm down)

3. Disability (see #2)

Bottomline: adults who do not want to modify to handle child

Oh well.....all good things come to any end eventually. 😉

If you are truly against having kids on board, there are lines that are totally kid free or that have so few kids that they are essentially kid free.

I have been on a Princess cruise when there was only one child on board --- and she was the Captain's young daughter.

In 14 cruises, we've only seen a few kids that were misbehaving and they weren't even very bad.  On one, we had a balcony cabin and there was a family next to us in a balcony with teenagers.  They also had the inside cabin across from the balcony cabin.  During the day, the doors between the cabins were slammed, with kids going in and out, in and out.  But, it only happened in the afternoons and we never heard them at night.  So, no big deal.

On the Regal, the way that the pools around MUTS is designed isn't ideal to watch movies.  With both pools connected, it is noisy.  We were watching a movie one evening and some kids were playing in the pool.  Just being normal kids, but it got a bit loud when thy played Marco Polo.  One 13ish year old boy could tell that he was irritating some people and he started yelling "Marco" "Polo" over and over again, getting quite loud.  After about 10 minutes some crew staff asked them to quit and they did.

The kids we have seen on all of the other cruises were very well behaved and happy to be cruising.

Our worst experiences with kids on a cruise were on the Sun Princess. The supposedly adult pool was right beside the other pool and was too much of an attraction for illiterate kids. They were diving into the pool and no one was stopping them. We did send two boys who tried to join us in the hot tub away because they weren't supervised. They said their grandmother was watching them. She was asleep (or passed out) on a lounge chair.
