Thanks for our New Year’s Eve day Daily, Rich.  A very Happy  New Year to you and all of our Daily-ites!

I hope today is not unlucky for anyone.  There’s been enough bad luck all year for far too many.

Love the Jack. Benny quote.  I do have bit of lobster in the freezer so I may muster up something somewhat resembling today’s meal suggestion. 😉  Adore New Zealand but we didn’t visit today’s port in our travels.

Had to get a sample from Marley and take it into the vet as he didn’t co-operate for them and they wanted a urinalysis to complete his work up.  Got a call from the vet that he has a serious infection and needs different antibiotics for this one.  He’s now on 7 pills a day 😱 Thank heavens I bought more pill pockets yesterday.  Have no idea why he has these infections all of a sudden 😔

The dogs and I will bring in the New Year together and hope that soon instead of the 3 of us there will be 4 🙏🏻  I’ve learned to never take for granted who you love ever ♥️

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a great New Year’s Eve day and New Year’s Eve everyone.  Happy New Year - may 2022 be much kinder to us all 🙏🏻

Thank you for the New Years Eve Daily, Rich.  2021 has not been a good year for me so I look forward to a better 2022.  While I can usually make up my mind, being willing to change it is also very important in this environment.  I'll save Unlucky Day for November 16 when I was admitted for my 3rd hospital stay.  I like the Jack Benny quote and have been to Tauranga only on Crystal.  I'll pass on the Lobster.

Today’s care list:

Strength for Jacqui, healing for Jose and wisdom for his doctors
Saint John Hospital Covid Situation
Colorado Wildfires

RIP Archbishop Tutu, John Madden, and Harry Reed
Welfare of furloughed crews

1ANGELCAT with finger in splint
Tana’s continuing struggles with pneumonia added on
MissG’s dad with pneumonia
From the rotation:
HAL Sailor DH health issues
NextOne  DDIL with mystery illness
summer slope BCC surgery in February
positive biopsy for Mtn2Sea appointment early January

Good morning and thanks for the Daily Report.  Thanks for today's Daily Report and every report of the year.

For many, this has been a terrible year.  Jim and I have been very lucky and although not the best year we've ever had, it's not the worst.

Praying that 2022 brings everyone peace, love and health.

My New Years Eve photo is from my 1999-2000 New Years trip on the Sierra Madre Express train to Mexico's Copper Canyon (Sadly, the railroad went under in 2009).  Since this is pre-digital and no metadata I'm not really sure if this is a sunrise or sunset or even the exact date but it's at least very close to New Years Eve.

Good morning Rich and fellow Daily-ites.  Thank you for the Daily.

It has been a crazy year, that's a fact. But there are many blessings tucked into our lives as well. I'm thankful for my family's health, our beautiful home, neighbors and the great people I have gotten to know through the Daily. I pray that Roy is strong and cancer free for 2022. Praying Jose's specialist pulls a miracle and Jose can come home. Also for Marley getting better with the antibiotics. I also pray for our friend in hospice (if he's still with us) and I pray for our Jacqui and friend Linda to stay strong.

We are on our way to take our Covid tests. Hopefully no news will be good news!

Have a wonderful day. Happy New Year's Eve. Prayers and Blessings to all

Good morning! Enjoying coffee and quiet before duty calls. Granddaughters are still asleep.

Make up your mind day should be heeded by the CDC. Have been to the port of the day.

Happy New Year’s Eve to all and to our Western Hemisphere friends Happy New Year.

We will celebrate New Years Eve by putting our phones down and enjoying family banter around a fondue dinner.

Very thankful for our health, we got to go on a couple wonderful cruises and looking forward to another year of Blessed life.

Thanks to all!

This is a better sunrise picture from our balcony.  My previous one was a tad bit too early.

We will be dining at the Pinnacle tonight for their special New Year Dinner. Lobster is on the menu.  So we will enjoy today’s meal suggestion.

There are several different entertainment venues celebrating the New Year. I’m sure Rich will post the activities on his Live From thread.

Tomorrow we will be at HMC and our last full day onboard. Hard to believe almost 11 days went by already. Today I plan on meeting Joy @Seasick Sailorand Rich @richwmnfor 6:30 pm Trivia. We always have a great time.

Good Morning from a very foggy day at the beach

Happy New Years Eve to everyone. I hope the new year will bring peace, health and happiness to all who desire it.  This year has been a terrible one for my family, loosing 5 close family members unexpectantly and my sister fighting lymphoma. But the new year is bringing 3 weddings ( hopefully a 4rth) and new baby in April to my niece and her DH after 5 years of fertility treatments. So we all continue to pray and keep a positive attitude.

Have not been to todays port. It is on my booked cruise to New Zealand in November. Sure do hope it goes, but.....

Would love to see pictures.

Took my DD to get her booster yesterday. She did well, no difficulties.

Water aerobics this AM if the fog clears.

Stay safe and enjoy today

Charlene

Thank you for the last Daily of this crazy year, Rich! An interesting combination of days. Did you fire Dixie? I noticed we had no drink of the day.🤔

Thank you for being such a great keeper of our lists Roy. Morning Dailyite family! Last night we drove through the Daytona Magic of Light. It was even better than last year’s.  And by waiting until after Christmas there was NO LINE!

Here are a couple of our favorites. They are animated, so they might look a bit blurred.

A shower of lights…

Thank you all making the Daily what it is. May 2022 be good to all of us!

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Stay well everyone!

Allegrini Palazzo della Torre

All vintages share very good - excellent ratings and reasonable prices. I used the 2018 vintage in hopes it might be the easiest to find. Numerous online distributors with prices starting at $14.49.

Winemaker Notes

This wine is elegant and well balanced, with a good structure and aroma. Ruby red in color with purple hues, it offers light hints of raisins, sophisticated notes of vanilla, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. It has a long, velvety finish and soft tannins.

Palazzo della Torre easily pairs with various Italian dishes, above all risottos, especially those flavored with saffron, porcini mushrooms and pork; classic dishes such as pasta with Amatriciana and Carbonara sauces, baked lasagna, gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese and walnuts; grilled meats and roasts. It also excels when matched with Parma ham and fine-cured Zibello pork loin, as well as medium-matured cheeses, especially Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan), pecorino and Monte Veronese.

JS93 James Suckling

A solid core of curranty fruit with smoky and spicy notes that add complexity. Full-bodied with good balance of smoky fruit and well-integrated, velvety tannins. Drive and length to this. Nicely done. Delicious now, or hold.

Good morning, all!

That lobster sounds wonderful and the Pinnacle Grill menu looks fantastic!

No idea what I'll have for dinner tonight (nothing exciting), but I did buy a bottle of Prosecco.  I promise I'll avoid drinking it all so I can have a couple of mimosas tomorrow morning.

After having sailed in November and December, I'm going through cruise withdrawal big time, even though I have 7 cruises booked for 2022 (next one on 1/30/22 on Carnival).  I'm having a raging internal debate about whether to use one of my MSC FCCs and book a side-to-side following my first Celebrity cruise in April.  It's incredibly affordable (although on a much-larger ship than I like) and with my FCC, I could book a balcony cabin and be out-of-pocket for only a few hundred dollars.  How can I pass that up?  Otherwise, I'll be flying for just a 5-night cruise.  Sigh.  Pretty sure I said I was going to stop booking all these Caribbean sailings and save my cruise budget for new itineraries.  That should be my 2022 resolution.

Stay safe everyone!

Lovely photo Sharon.

Pleased you are having an amazing cruise.

This is why we always book a balcony cabin plus breakfast on the balcony too.

Graham.
