So this ratchets back the most recent tweak to the masking policy. That is, once again there can be vaccinated only venues where masks are no longer required.

Indeed.  And there's hope of it getting better and better, and soon.  Love how one cruise line sets the tone (ncl), and others note the need to adapt.  Good things coming soon to a cruise line near you.

It'll be the same adage as it has been since cruising resumed, although w/ a much better flavor...'agree to the approved protocols, or don't sail'.

Havent cruised on RC but it seems like only a minor adjustment since removing masks in bars and dining areas has always been okay. Looks like it only loosens up in the casino. Not sure what "select" venues are.

There were no masks required on Explorer in the diamond lounge, and no masks in the Piano bar or casino in December and they are going back to that now.

They are reverting to the pre-Omicron mask policy.

It really does no good to put out a mask requirement when they do not enforce it.

I'm sure I will get backlash on my statement but I know first hand X does not enforce it.

You can only speak about your cruise experience for the cruise you were on. And I'll bet someone will post the opposite. Celebrity shouldn't have to employ mask police. We hate wearing masks but if that is their policy, so be it.

We’re currently on the Reflection and pretty much everyone is following the rules. Sure, you see a nose every once in awhile and, occasionally, there are those very few that simply forgot to put their mask back on after getting up from a table where they have been eating or drinking or when leaving their stateroom. But they soon remember to put it back on or go back to the cabin to get it because of all the “masked” looks their getting from folks passing by. 😂😂

Celebrity just updated their website:

Effective for all sailings departing February 12, 2022 forward, masks will not be required onboard for vaccinated guests unless attending activities in the Theatre or Casino. Masks will continue to be required for unvaccinated guests, under 12 years old, at all times indoors except while eating or drinking.

We start tge 2nd leg of a B2B on 2/12 glad making is changing.  At least once a day I head out of the  cabin, leave the dining room & forget to put on my mask.

yesterday I got all the way to the spa, never passing a single person, and released I walked out of the cabin without my mask, it was a long walk back.

I mean how can they enforce it? I’ve been on princess and they don’t enforce it there either. They are just happy to have passengers back I really don’t think they want to make them upset. Or cause a confrontation.

That's interesting. Apparently, they are not going to have vaccinated only theatre shows with no masks, or a policy of unvaccinated seating only in the balcony.

Nevertheless, this is a positive move that reflects that current data, and I look forward to less masking when I cruise in March.

Since they are requiring everyone over 12 to be vaccinated and there are not a lot of children on Celebrity there would be no need for vaccinated only shows.

A couple of links pertaining to the CDC and updated protocols. The new updated CDC info has a link in the first article.

Precisely the point. Vaccinated family travelling with unvaccinated children are considered part of the unvaccinated. Theatre seating by vaccinating status rather than masks or social distancing has been one of the protocols in the past.
