Dinner is Wonderland.  I’m a little nervous about that.  I don’t know if I’m really adventurous enough of an eater for that.

Go into Wonderland thinking of it as entertainment with food involved rather than as dinner.  We really enjoyed the food but we like to try different things.  It's interesting seeing something that tastes different than it looks.  Trust your waiters to bring something that you will like.  Worst case, there's WJ and Sorrento's after.

A little blackjack Before lunch and then back to the pub for lunch. The poutine wasn’t as good this time. Not enough gravy or cheese curds. But the smoked cheddar soup was really good and made up for it.

after that we took off to zone zero for the VR experience. It is an absolute hoot for young and old. Don’t miss out on it when you are aboard.

Do you happen to remember if they had the beverage packages buy 1 get 1 half off on the first day?  Just booked the next 8 day after John's and your reviews, planner has it at 65.99 so that would be less for us pretty sure.

Except that $65.99 won't be the price to take half of. It will be the full price of $89 or whatever and really only amounts to 25% off per person.

Yes I do know that, it actually comes out the same, base price is 88 for our cruise.  If I can get that onboard won't buy pre cruise unless it drops below where it is now.  We usually book way ahead so can watch prices a bit, however just booked so don't have that luxury.  On the other hand if it's just full price onboard will take what I can now.

I’ll try and find a day one cruise compass but I think the onboard price was $89 so second one at $44.50 wouldn’t be a savings.

Love your title and your report so far.
On your ship is it Giovanni’s table or kitchen? On the Oasis we don’t have the giant meatball, and I am struggling to find something to eat other than the fillet.

It’s Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen.  There is also Giovanni’s Wine Bar, which offers some food - meat & cheese platter, meatballs (not giant), pizza, Stromboli…

Ever tried Osso Bucco?  I dared step out of the comfort of filet and found this to be a nice tender meat in Italian restaurants.

I’m glad you enjoyed it.  We enjoyed Wonderland enough to do it again last month on Harmony.  The birds nest and The mad hatters potted shrimp where really good.  I loved the smoke flavor of the eggs.  On Symphony they had a mad hatter visiting each table but they didn’t on Harmony.  Did you have the mad hatter character visiting the tables?

Simeon Kirkles was the comedian tonight. It was a family show. He was very funny. He did a hilarious Trump impression.

Chops was very good.  Sorry no food porn, I forgot. I’ll do better tomorrow. I had the filet, DW had the Branzino. She loved it.

final score for the day 99-60

You are so Lucky! Saw Simeon on Brilliance in Jan. Thought I was going to die from laughing. Yes, he had been working on his impression during the pandemic.

I consider breaking even to be a win. Free entertainment.

We have our $10 limit, when it's gone, it's gone.  Last of the big spenders 😁

Like you we treat it as our after dinner and pre show entertainment .

Sometimes the $10 lasts the whole cruise

My sister in law has just tested positive, has headache and feeling cold, otherwise OK. Fully jabbed and boostered.

She was round ours for supper on Monday so fingers crossed we don't have it, LFT show negative for us.

She had been partying at Brighton (UK costal Town near us) at the weekend which is where she probably caught it.

She had done a test on Monday before coming round and that was negative

Ok so my ship has the other Giovanni’s restaurant so no meatballs.

I had Osso Bucco at Sinatra in Las Vegas and it was really good, but so rich.

Thanks for answering my question, I appreciate it.

Not a big fan of all the "nesting" items on the menu, like trying to eat dry straw, but the short ribs and teh Chocolate World dessert are fantastic.   Also the Smoke Ring bourbon drink!

Miss the old Tapas menu at Vintages but at Least Giovanni's Wine Bar has different menu than the restaurant, something Vintages and Jaimes on other ships should try.

OssoBucco is delish.  Nice to see it on the menu..
