Let's hope RCCL doesn't move too quickly to relax rules which will lead to more COVID cases and a negative in the long run.

Hey, even Washington DC is eliminating/easing the masks mandates, along with many states in teh Northeast.

On the smoking issue, I would say that's a giant leap in the wrong direction.

My wife is an occasional smoker, (I never had one in my life) and while its "convenient" to have the Casino handy for a quick smoke she feels it is "gross" in her words and thinks for the comfort of the other guests it should be a non-smoking venue.  she was fine on Odyssey not smoking in the Casino.

A casino player/smoker will find a way to take care of both of their vices on vacation. 😉

Many or most of the country has been maskless for months, mostly from last July 1.  Already been proven that the masks do not prevent a virus (plenty of holes and side areas for the little buggers to get you).  Masks have become a safety net for many.  One major cruise line lifted the mask rules ship wide, and I'm sure, RCCL will follow soon

The 'super spreader' on the Oasis charter was a non-event...what more could be done that 'will lead to more COVID cases' for ya?  As disappointing as it is for some to accept, the likelihood of such an event occurring remains remote at best.

However, regarding 'relaxing rules leading to more covid cases' concern, going from 4 cases to 5 cases could prove your theory I suppose.

The masks people have been wearing were never to protect the person wearing them.  It reduces the transmission FROM the person wearing it.

You need a true N95 (or KN95) or P100 or higher protection level respirator to protect the wearer.

Lets unite together and protest wearing masks by burning our masks like women did in 1968 when they burned their bras.

I have 46 remaining from the box of 50 the wife gave me 2 years ago...consider them added to the pile.

Sail on Celebrity.  No smoking in the casino.

Maybe RC will follow Celebrity's lead going forward with no inside smoking. It's unfortunate Celebrity is still going to require masks in theater and the casino.

The "mask police" were out in force with an entire team of yellow t-shirt wearing compliance crew members just before the start of "The Book" on Odyssey last week.  It was a "fully vaxxed only" night and many were trying to drink their adult beverages.  Those ladies were tough!!  They would ponce on you pretty quick if you were not wearing the mask.  😮

The short little blonde in the yellow t-shirt is Ruthless.  She is EVERYWHERE throughout the week with her "mask whistle"

I could of swore that I saw her looking into my balcony door one night while hanging from her Mission impossible harness.

It is just a matter of time for RCCL to eliminate smoking from the casino.  And probably in a shorter time for the mask rules to be lifted on all areas of the ship as Omicron continues to plummet.

Nicotine pouches that go inside your mouth are always an option. Never smoked, but had a bad habit of dipping tobacco. Nicotine pouches are what I use now. No smoke that bothers others, but still a quick nicotine delivery system. Much cheaper than any tobacco option as it is not taxed like tobacco products.
