Quantum & Ovation Plus - 30 Day Live (hopefully)

Made it to Seattle and checked into the Mayflower Park Hotel. Enjoying it so far. A little old for my tastes but Micheline likes places with a little character. Went to a restaurant called Assaggio Ristorante. Very good northern Italian. Sitting in the hotel bar having a night cap (a local IPA) before going up to the room and crashing.

Ok…one night cap turned into two. I followed the IPA with a Weller 12 neat (thinking of you Greg). My first Weller and it won’t be my last. 
 

Before going to bed, I’ll share our plans in Seattle. Tomorrow, we’re doing a walking food tour through the Pike Place Market. We love

walking food tours. Sunday, we’ll do the Space Needle followed by the Chihuly Garden and Glass. Sunday is also our anniversary and we’ll eat at a recommended restaurant called Umi Sake House. Supposed to be great sushi.

Thsts so awesome. It’s really hard to find Weller 12. Can I ask how much was the pour? Glad you liked it. The Weller Special Reserve is just as good and a little easier to find. Cheers to you and a great start.

 

we had Cuban food at Versailles in Miami and then Tiki cocktails at Esotico! So much fun.

$22 a pour. Worth it. Between us, we’ll be eating some great food over the next week. Are you boarding today or tomorrow?

We just got off the Ovation yesterday. We had a fabulous time with glorious weather, though I hear that's about to change.

 

We really enjoyed the Ovation and have booked the Quantum for next year.

Just finished the chef guided food tour of Pike Place Market from Eat Seattle Tours. Very good. The market is an amazing place with a mind boggling number of little shops and restaurants in a maze of buildings and alleys. The highlight for me was probably Pike Place Chowder. Excellent NE style clam

Dinner tonight was at Elliott’s Oyster House on the water. It was recommended by a Bartender on Amelia Island who used to live here. It was a good recommendation. I had the Halibut special and Micheline, who was still full from our earlier food tour, had a salad and a Snow Crab cluster. The halibut was excellent and Micheline said the crab was great…very sweet. 
 

 

 

We walked around the waterfront area a bit and enjoyed the coming sunset. Seattle must get some spectacular sunsets over the mountains.
