I lived in Seattle for 6.5 years before I met Nate. These pics are bringing back several memories. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your trip!

I was just thinking how different downtown Seattle looks since I grew up there as a child. It is a lot more built up. We moved up there the year of the World's Fair in 1963. Great photos! Thanks Bob!

The Chihuly Garden and Glass was amazing. As @Ozark_Kid said, a photographer’s paradise. I have so many pics that I’ll break it up into 2 posts. Inside pics in this post, then outside garden pics separately.

Great job!  What made it so fun for me shooting pic there was their presentation.   Such great lighting and I loved the reflection on the black glass some laid on.  Glad you enjoyed it.  If I make it to Seattle again I would want to go back.

Crystal - We’re stopping back here for one day (8:00-5:00) on our Ovation cruise to Hawaii. Any suggestions for other things to do during that time?

Fabulous pictures! I especially loved the blue sphere with the reflection of the space needle, what a great shot!

Also loved the Pike Place photos, what a wonderful place. We love visiting markets during our travels and have seen many around the world.

The flowers and fruit are amazing at Pike place. I bought a big bouquet for our cabin when we were there for our Explorer cruise in 2017(?). As we got on the ship, so many people remarked on the flowers. Many people said they didn't know we could take them on the ship, but we learned that you can take them on, but not off at the end. I buy a bouquet for every cruise, but usually not as nice as those. I bought a travel vase that is really great.

We're planning to book an Alaska cruise next summer for our adult sons and their families. I look forward to comparisons between Quantum and Ovation.

Have a great trip!

Barb

Have you visited the Seattle Aquarium?  We enjoyed it.  It can be done easily in a couple hours.

Definite possibility. Currently planning either the aquarium or just wandering around the market.  We still have more to see in the market.

Sorry I haven’t posted. I’ve  had my hands full here on Symphony. I promise I will reread everything when I can. So far your pictures are incredible. Much better than mine. Looks like you are having a great time. I know we are.

Looks like another beautiful day in Seattle today. Sail away should be 72 and sunny. We’ll leave for the pier at 10:30.

Dinner last night was at Umi Sake House. The food was very good. Sorry, forgot to take pictures. It wasn’t really our vibe though. It’s in the Belltown area of Seattle which is a hip part of town. The restaurant was young and hip.  I don’t think there was anyone else there older than 40. Lots of talking and laughing means a high energy place but also very loud. I see why it gets such good reviews…just not our style.

if it’s possible to rent a car, I highly recommend driving out to Snoqualmie falls. It’s always so beautiful in the fall and there’s a spa and restaurant there where you can have drinks/food before or after.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in and around the NW, I second this recommendation!

Also, the Fremont area troll is an interesting find and not far from the port.

Here is another Falls to not miss if you are ever in the State of Oregon, The Movie "Twilight" filmed the baseball scene had the Falls in it.

Multnomah Falls

Totally agree, Our tour guide for the day took us there when our cruise ship stopped for the day in Seattle, it's about 1 hour from the cruise port. He took us to the Troll too and the the tallest building in Seattle the Columbia Building.

We’re onboard!  Took about 25 minutes from taxi to ship. Could have been faster but the suite/key line took a lot longer than the regular line.

Had lunch at Cafe Two70. Had the roast beef sandwich. As a Buffalo native, I’m required by law to say that it wasn’t very good. Same thing with any wings that I eat outside of Buffalo. Nothing compares.

RipCord was free today so I gave it a try. Lots of fun but the video evidence shows that I need a lot more practice.

You did really well! I'm too much of a scaredy cat to try it myself but I do enjoy spectating.

p.s.  Please tell Romana (Suite Concierge) and Margaarette (Coastal Kitchen Ass't Maitre'd) that Toshiko and John said hello!  They are both fabulous ladies.

John - we just met Margaarette in CK. She seems like a great lady. I told her that you said hi. She was touched and wanted me to say hi back to you.
