I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.--Frank Herbert, Dune

Thanks for the Fleet Update and General Info SLC.

HAL made an error. Newsman Day is now Newsperson Day. I guess weatherman is now weatherperson. And on and on and on. Lucky I’m retired cause I could never make it in todays business world without offending someone by saying the wrong words. Some guy just got turned down a big job for calling a woman a lady. That’s offensive?

Good morning from a sunny 41°F North East coast of England.

Thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers for being our host every day supplying today's daily reports.

3 good days.

Excellent quote.

I will give today's food a miss untill Debbie @dfish enlightens us on what it is.

Thank you everyone for being here and contributing every day.

Graham.

Good morning friends!  It's a very foggy, dark morning outside right now.  We are at 59F, will have a little rain and partly cloudy skies otherwise, and 80 degrees.

Thank you Rich @richwmn for our Fleet Report and Daily information.  I'm not sure what we would do without you preparing this all ahead of time.  Our days to celebrate are Hug a Newsman Day, Walk Around Things Day, and School Librarian Day.  I can think of a couple newspersons (thanks RNB) I might hug but the vast majority, no.  I recommend walking around things instead of into them like I did that door in my bedroom one night.  I'm still surprised I didn't break my nose.  And school librarians are a gift.  I haven't thought much about it but I hope schools still have them.  I know they did when my kids were in school.  I was the volunteer Mom to the librarian and enjoyed it immensely.📚

Today's quote is long and about fear.  Hope you like it - it didn't do much for me.  The meal sounds exotic and I've never tasted it before.  Let's see what Debbie @dfish found out about it before I pass judgment.  An interesting sounding cocktail though some of you will probably say don't mess with the bourbon.  And I'm sure the Cabernet Sauvignon is nice but I'll pass on the red wine.🍷

Our wonderful port today is Haugesund, Norway.  I wish I could say I'd been there - actually been there!  I was on Island Princess and we stopped at Haugesund, Norway last June 15, the day after I was sent to Covid jail.  That is the day DH joined me there.  I probably didn't even see anything out the window because it wasn't a tender port!  I hope someone here has some photos and a nice little description of the place because I will have to take another cruise to get there!  This is the first time Haugesund has come up as port of the day, too!  So I have no link for you and no photos.  What kind of a newsperson am I?  What a shame.☹️

Let me thank Debbie, Ann @cat shepard, Dixie @summer slope and Vanessa @JazzyV for their work today on the Daily.  Hope they are better newspersons than I am!  Prayers for all on the Care list.  Hoping that many of you are feeling better or improving at least.  Prayers too for all the victims we've thought about so much in Ukraine, the earthquake victims, train derailment/crashes, tornadoes, and shootings. 🙏 Thank you to Gerry @ger_77 and her DH as well as friends who have been helping the Ukrainian family settle into her community.  What a gift you are Gerry!  Cheers to the Celebration list people who are enjoying happy and exciting events in their lives including cruises. 🥂 Congrats to DGS Ren on yesterday's victory and perhaps a few more this week.🎉

Hoping everyone here has a safe and thoughtful Tuesday!

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for today’s daily fleet report.  Today is an in office day so I need to get moving soon.  I’ll pass judgment on today’s meal suggestion until we see what @dfish shares.  Last nights Shipwreck Stew was a hit and I’ll probably make it again, a different way to help clean out the freezer and pantry. When I was in school I volunteered in the school library.  I’ll pass on hugging a newsman or newswoman. I hope everyone has a good day today.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report.

A mix of sun and cloud with a high of 9°C (48°F) today.  Sounds like a good spring day.

An interesting collection of days.  I don't know any newspeople to hug.   Graham, thanks for the explanation of Walk Around Things Day, love it.  A big thank you to school librarians.

I like the quote.

The meal sounds good.

Not sure about the drink and I hope the wine is tasty.

I've never been to today's port, thanks in advance for pictures.

Prayers for everyone.  I hope there are lots of celebrations.

Have a wonderful day.

Stay safe.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report and lists.  I don’t know any newsmen to hug.  It’s usually wise to walk around things.  Hats off to all school librarians, your work helps to form young minds.  I’ll have to wait and see about the meal suggestion but the drink sounds like it might be tasty.  I haven’t been to today’s port but looking forward to seeing the photos.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list today.  Cheers to those of you celebrating happy events!

I think I will skip going to the gym for leg exercises.  Maybe I'll try DH's Total Gym for a few leg exercises and go up and down the stairs repeatedly.  I just don't feel like going out into the fog and high humidity this morning.

I woke up to a couple of photos from DS this morning of Ren.  First shows the ball right next to the goalie's left foot and that is Ren shooting it into the net.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIBbrauTG0I_j9uRjg2ejFUVZV51t4MhjbEwRNyGscOgg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1680606928

Afterwards, a jubilant FC Dallas U16 team congratulate Ren.  He's in the back being surrounded by his new teammates.  They have been most welcoming to the new recruit.

Rain expected later today in Dallas for the second game of the tournament.🏃‍♂️

Thank you for getting us started Sandi! Rich thank you for setting up the program that allows us to continue! Vanessa, thank you for caring enough to capture and share all our events and happenings.

@Mr. Boston thank you for that great shot of the city that you shared yesterday. I was born in Massachusetts about 30 minutes North of the city and spent my formative years there. Lots of fun trips into the “Big City”. And every now and then I drop an “r” or two.

Another lovely morning here. Just chores, Bindi walks, one gym class and yard work. My local food bank asked me to change my morning to Wednesday, so things are a bit less hectic today.

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Get well & stay well everyone!

Trinity Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Hawkes Bay Prison Block 2020

Another elusive New Zealand wine. It sounds amazing, though pricey.  I couldn’t find a distributor that would ship to me. But if I could, the price would be about $75/bottle + shipping. Definitely outside of my budget.

Raymond Chan review

"Full, deep, inky ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The bouquet is full, immediately pleasing, enticing aromas of cedar and cocoa entwined with cassis, blackberry, menthol and an amalgam of spice. Full-bodied, concentrated aromas of cassis and blackberry interweave fragrant black tea, menthol, clove and nutmeg, cedar and cocoa lend a dry, savoury, long finish. The mouthfeel is dense and dry with a fine-grained structure, extended by meaty, savoury nuances. Effortless, balanced acidity supported through the layers and an exceedingly long finish. This well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a powerful, dense palate with multilayers and an extremely long finish. Match with tomahawk and braised short rib over the next 15 years. Fruit from Gimblett Gravels, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, handpicked, destemmed, 100% whole berries, fermented in a large closed top-fermenter to 14.5% alc, 15 days on skins, aged in new 225-litre French oak barriques for 19 months. No fining, minimal filtration." - 19/20Raymond Chan Wine Reviews

Good morning. Already 73 degrees with a forecasted high of 80 degrees F. No news person to hug here as there all up in NYC salivating over today’s media spectacular. Thanks Graham for the explanation on walking around. You just can’t make these National days up but obviously someone did. Sure hope they don’t get paid for it.

Little last minute shopping today, a stop at the bank for tip money and a lunch date with my honey. Plus more packing.

I’ll be anxious to see what Debbie comes up with for today’s meal suggestion. I’ll try anything once. We looked on the Navigator App to get an idea what’s being offered in MDR Sunday evening. If it’s correct there is nothing on the menu that would suggest Easter Sunday traditional fare. It will be our first time dining in MDR in quite awhile as we had Club Orange on previous cruises.

Thanks Sandi for publishing and distributing our Daily read. May all of you have a wonderful day.

Bruce

Thanks for the Daily Report and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Pics from Falmouth, Jamaica. We liked this stop much better than Ocho Rios as we (and almost everyone we talked with on this cruise) had much fewer issues with peeps wanting us to "party, sell us a red stripe from the trunk of their car, take a tour, sell us pot, get our hair braided, etc." 🙂

If memory serves, RCI built this port and did a great job as it still looks brand new. Never felt crowded (Oasis was also in port) and easy place to walk and shop.

Thank you Rich, Sandi, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie.  Not sure about today's quote.  Fear is a critical defense mechanism but must be kept under control,  Firefighters always work in pairs or groups because the support of others is an important part of keeping control of their fears.  I won't hug a newsperson but an grateful for their contributions and will salute the other 2 days.  I have not been to Haugesund,  No idea what the meal is.  My alternative is Gourmet Greens, Tropical Fruit Medley, and Prime Rib of Beef au Jus as served on MS Amsterdam April 4, 2014.

Congratulations Ren

Good morning. It looks like a nice day and will reach almost seventy later.

I look forward to the recipe as I have tried to make that dish in the past and it was very tasty. We have not been to the port. I reread “Dune” every few years and like the quote. I doubt that I would hug a news person  and librarians have a very difficult job in the times we live in.
I loved seeing all the Boston pictures yesterday and realized that I have only pre digital pictures now. it is a very special city. @rafinmd, Roy, we sat at the Harvard graduation for DS in the “almost rain” and marveled at the history there. It did wait until the end of the ceremony to pour.

Yesterday we had good news from the second cardiac specialist. He felt the problem did not require any surgical intervention at this time but a scan will be done in three months. There was a huge sigh of relief here!

We have a private aide coming for an interview today. She is related to a neighbor and has excellent references so we hope for the best.

Thanks to all who make this a special place every day.

That's next year's Love and Harmony charter cruise out of Miami.  I'm still looking for this week's Eurodam charter itinerary.  Need to seach the Charter's thread that @VMax1700 mentioned in another thread.  If you find the correct itinerary before I do please post it.  Thanks!
