Just had an 11 minute call from the Executive Office. Just like the menu changes they are looking for feedback so the more people who contact them the better. Right now it is an 8 week pilot program on Equinox and Eclipse. My husband and I both spoke to her and express our disappointment and dissatisfaction with this "pilot program" We told her we feel it is indicative of more changes to come that will erode the Celebrity experience.

Thank you for this.  I’ll try to call them also.  Second hand tobacco smoke is bad but somehow vaping is ok?  You hear the same excuses.  “It’s totally safe.”

Thank you so much for the e-mail address. I just sent them an e-mail addressing both the way the Beyond redeployment was handled, and the new vaping policy.

As my 60-something friend suggested, next dry dock Celebrity will replace the gelato bar with a tattoo parlor.  Virgin may be on to something.  Celebrity is out to get in on the action sooner than later.

It will be fun to watch our vaping friends throwing their empty Busch Light Peach beer cans over the railing, too. Yes, let's change policy, Celebrity, to fill those inside cabins and get folks back in the casinos!

My spouse, 2 daughters and granddaughter are on July 2 Equinox cruise. I will ask her but we have done three cruises this year and never saw vaping on the Equinox, apex, or silhouette in the casino. I would not be surprised that someone would do it and no one would say but I think they try to keep it smoke and vapor free. Thats why we sail X, smoking ban inside for 25 plus years.

Also, their first meal was great, wife said her prime rib was the best she ever had on X and she gets it every time. The menu has changed back with classics and no chance for add ons in MDH. I guess all the chatter and feedback nixed their test. They do listen on some things. They will continue to test things to improve their cash flow. That you can count on.

Girls also enjoyed comedian first night.

Lastly thanks for your review. Great job.

It's already been verified by two different folks that are also on your daughters July 2nd cruise.

I think my favorite thing about the stupid sign they're using is that the No Smoking part has a cigarette illustration with smoke coming out of the tip and then Vaping Allowed showing an illustration of a vape device with...smoke coming out of the end.

Well thought out...

Of the many changes that happen over time, with many being in recent months, this one is at the top with some others that have been chipping away at my love of Celebrity.  I like spending time in the Casino and this just screams of another decision in the wrong direction. I might have to stop shoulder shrugging and move on to different travel options.

I got a call from celebrity after I sent an e mail to executive office.  I expressed our displeasure with the vape concept. I also said since we book suites I can find a different cruise line that curtails smoking for that kind of money

I have also expressed my disappointment on a comment card. I’m on Equinox now and can confirm that the word has gotten out about vaping in the casino.

IMO it’s not good. I don’t vape but those who do seem to have caught on that celebrity is now allowing it in the casino.

It certainly doesn't emit enough for anybody nearby to be inhaling any of it and I consciously don't breathe out for a few seconds which absorbs all of it. Please don't accuse me of lying.

Please do not lecture about things that have not been proven. My wife died of cancer due to working in an environment where smoking was allowed, just like Roy Castle. She was a singer and worked in venues where at that time smoking was the norm, because of ignorance of the damage that tobacco smoke caused.

I would encourage you to stop vaping use will power if you want to stop you can.

I emal celebrity but got rejected so I did the lhodge email.  Hopefully they listen to us.  We are not saying no space to smoke/vap but expanding to inside area is not a good idea.

I'm starting to regret booking my first Celebrity cruise. I Had been really excited about it all but have a sinking feeling I'm not going to enjoy it if these boards are anything to go by. I Think I'll steer clear of them in future.

Please don’t be influenced by anything you read here, go on your cruise and decide then given your own first hand experience. You will get lots of useful information here, we did, and read many negative comments on here, people saying “bye” to Celebrity etc, then we did our two cruises last year and loved them. We are back in September and are not worried in the slightest that we won’t love it, and two more Celebrity cruises next year. We don’t ignore negative comments here, we bear them in mind for when we are on the ship, and then we judge ourselves there.

Unlike the MDR menu changes and reduced buffet options, IMO this will be more difficult to roll back, they have given the control/power to the cruiser.

Agreed. I did include in my email that I hope they empower their crew to enforce rules and not be afraid to do so for fear of complaints. Just to reinforce that we know why crew members often turn a blind eye to infractions.
