1ANGELCAT Posted August 10, 2023 #26 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Good cloudy and humid morning. Rain is expected later today. Just had an email from Barb’s husband. She is home from the hospital and tired. They had to do a second minor surgery but it went well. Thanks for all the prayers for her. I have been to Grand Cayman several times, really enjoyed it there. @Crazy For Cats, safe travels, it’s supposed to be a nice weekend, hot and sunny with a chance of thunderstorms Saturday afternoon. Blessings and prayers to all on our lists. 26

dobiemom Posted August 10, 2023 #29 Share Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) This article lists ways to help Maui fire victims. Denise @DeeniEncinitas do you know of any others? I know scammers will be out soon and I want to make sure the help goes to the right people, not scammers pockets. Rare cruising sister Posted August 10, 2023 #30 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Good morning, No new news on Murphy. I am not asking and waiting for them to contact me. It is hard to not keep asking. Maui was where we honeymooned and we went back two more times on cruises. We loved walking around Lahaina and saw it evolve over the years. So sad for all those affected by the fire. The pull for a lazy day is great but I will get out and get some shopping done. The refrigerator is bare. Congrats to those who are getting better. Prayers for those in need and have a great day.

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted August 10, 2023 #36 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Good morning from a sunny and already hot central Texas. It is 83F and feels like 90F already. Our predicted high is 105F..The humidity is 71% with a dew point of 73F. Since there are a couple of things I need to do outside, I'm going to skip my walk again today. Sadly, I just saw the breaking news that there are 36 confirmed dead in the Maui fire. This is just too tragic for words. I am thankful that Denise and David @DeeniEncinitas are safe. I wish I could celebrate lazy day, but like Joy @Seasick Sailor that will happen the next time we're on a BHB. I love smores, and we make them over the firepit in Quartzsite when our older DD and DSIL bring the smore's kit that has Mexican vanilla marshmallows. This past Christmas, we had to resort to making them in the microwave. They were good, but not quite the same. Lions deserve a day to call attention to their dwindling numbers. We saw this lion cub at a scenic overlook outside Sochi. His fur was very rough and coarse. Another funny quote from Rodney Dangerfield. We haven't had a shrimp boil, but have been to several crayfish boils. They are big in Louisiana Cajun country. We'll pass on the drink and the wine. I prefer the original Mojito. We have been to the Cayman Islands many times, but only once in the digital age in 2002. I didn't take any pictures that day. We enjoyed our visit to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich when we spent a week in London on the way home from Cape Town. That was a great way to break up a long trip. Here are a couple of pictures of the Royal Observatory. 2 hours ago, Crazy For Cats said: Good Morning Everyone, thanks for today’s daily fleet report. It’s been a very busy couple of work days. The “divorce “ project started and we now have a separation. Once the system’s are confirmed to be stable we will start the next phase of the project. I was on a bridge line yesterday for over 12 hours helping to troubleshoot any issues and validation. At least I have tomorrow off and we will visit my mother and then on Saturday head over to Lancaster. Jake enjoy your visit with your mother tomorrow, and safe travels to Lancaster Saturday. 1 hour ago, mamaofami said: Good morning everyone. My DH is due to be discharged from the hospital today and going to a rehabilitation facility. He is on the road to recovery after a brain bleed, blood infection a d fever. It’s been over a week in the hospital so this is good news. Now, if we could prevent another fall all things could continue in the right direction. Stay safe everyone, Carol Carol, I'm glad Sam is well enough to be transferred to rehab. I hope he's home soon. 1 hour ago, Mr. Boston said: Good morning everyone. Thanks for the report, recipes and lists. I didn’t post yesterday as I was traveling to Northern Michigan to spend a week with my mom, love that there’s a seasonal direct flight from Boston to Traverse City in the summer. I will join in on celebrating lazy day. Love smores and love them more when someone else makes them. I enjoy watching lions and would like to see them on a safari one day. Rodney Dangerfield always makes me smile! The meal and drink sound nice. I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for everyone on our list and for those who need them. Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events! 🥂 Enjoy your week in northern Michigan. 1 hour ago, aliaschief said: Good morning. (ritzy part of Atlanta) Annie, I hope the PT goes well, and also that your DH's first treatment goes well and without any bad side effects. I am not sure that Gerry's @ger_77 DH's angiogram for today will happen. She also said on Tuesday that it would be a couple of weeks or longer before the pacemaker procedure would be scheduled. Here is what she wrote on Tuesday. DH has his angiogram rescheduled for Thursday this week, but just before the family left, he had a phone call from the cardiologist. Apparently the results of the Holter monitor came in to him this morning and he wanted DH to know he's going to be fitted with a pacemaker. He's going to mark it "urgent", but it will still take a couple of weeks until he gets an appointment. Lenda 11 1

ger_77 Posted August 10, 2023 #39 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily! I've never been a huge fan of s'mores; it's the graham cracker that I don't care for. Lions are beautiful and I love seeing photos of them in their natural habitats. Today is and isn't going to be a lazy day for us - DH won't have to do anything in particular except lie still for his angiogram. I'm going to be in the waiting room a couple of doors away during the procedure and will be listening to a podcast and working on a new blanket, so kind of lazy. Thank you all for your care and prayers, they are greatly appreciated. We'll be leaving the house in a couple of hours, so we'll see what the day holds. I hope the cardiologist's request gets processed quickly so DH can get the pacemaker implanted sooner rather than later. I'm astonished at the devastation of the beautiful island of Maui; unbelievable that an entire town could be wiped out, and the loss of so many lives, businesses, homes, and pets is mind boggling. My prayers have been going out to all who are affected by the fire. I'm so glad @DeeniEncinitasand her DH are safe! @marshhawksending prayers for Chuck today as he begins his treatment. @Tbay Happy Birthday to you! @mamaofamiI'm so glad to hear that Sam is being released from the hospital. @aliaschief safe travels today. I'd like to try the drink of the day, won't be doing a shrimp boil any time soon, but would like to try one some day. After DH's procedure, we'll head home where I've got some frozen tempura shrimp that I'll be cooking in the air fryer; they'll be served along with stir fried veggies for a light dinner on the deck tonight. And wine. Prayers for everyone who is in need, especially those affected by the fires all over the world. Cheers to all with celebrations. Smooth Sailing! ☺️☺️☺️ Gerry

RedneckBob Posted August 10, 2023 #41 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Thanks for the Fleet Update and General Info from all contributors. Grand Cayman. Another cruise story. Great place if you know where to go. One of my favorite self snorkel tour cost $5! Once you are tendered ashore go right down street along water. Approx. 200 yards you will see a Dive Shop and a Restaurant. They have lockers for rent for $5 where you can put personnel items. On the water side of the buildings are ladders into the water. This is where you snorkel what I believe is called Eden Roc. Stunning and plenty of fish. Water is deep so wear a vest. Twice a day the Restaurant throws food scraps into the water which attracts fish, mostly tarpon. One time when I was there I was in time for the feeding. I was surrounded by 30-40 Tarpons, 3-5 feet long. What an experience! 24

Lions are majestic. I especially like Lazy Day but don't have the patience to make S'mores and end up burning the marshmellow to a crisp. Rodney Dangerfield was a scamp. That observatory in Greenwich has become a world treasure. I have been in Grand Cayman a few times but the only time I was due there on a BHB was on Maasdam in 2015 and we could not tender. I'll pass on the shrimp. My alternative is Roasted and Raw Carrot Salad. Roasted Spice Crusted Prime Rib, and Ricotta Raspberry Tart A La Mode which could have been my choices August 10, 1997 on SS Rotterdam V. Continued prayers for all on the care list, especially Baby Murphy and family and the people of Maui. Pleased to hear that @DeeniEncinitas is safe. Looks like possible rain today. dfish Posted August 10, 2023 #45 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Greetings from Seydisfjordur, Iceland! No organized excursion today. We went out and walked around town. Sue found a gift for granddaughter River and we sent off a postcard to Ellamary. We hiked up to a waterfall and then had some great fish and chips from a food truck near the public pool. @Tbay Happy Birthday! I am happy to hear that @mamaofami’s DH will be released to rehab and that @DeeniEncinitas and DH are safe. Such a tragedy on Maui. Good wishes for @catmando and @ger_77’s DH. Many times I have gone on sail and snorkel tours and always thought it was funny that when it rained while sailing to the snorkel site everyone would seek shelter so they would not get wet. I told them once you get wet you can’t get any wetter! 😀 8
