damiross Posted February 1 #1 Share Posted February 1 I couldn't find this on the Princess site. With the plus package, can I get beer in a can or is it from the fountain? Thanks

I haven't seen draught beer on Princess for a long time but I much prefer draught if it's decent. I seem to recall that they had Heineken once but I hate that stuff.

beg3yrs Posted February 1 #10 Share Posted February 1 Conflicting reports about the availability of draft beer on the ships is likely because it's only available at one or two bars on the whole ship. Typically it's a bar near a pool. As to the types of beer on tap, it varies. I've partaken of Heineken and Newcastle but not on the same cruise. I've also had an excellent Australian beer (can't remember the name - something to do with horses though) on an Australian cruise.
Yehootu Posted February 1 #11 Share Posted February 1 These are the only choices I've seen on tap. 4 hours ago, clarky213 said: Unfortunately, I think it was Heineken, but they also had Stella as far as I can recall. 40 minutes ago, voljeep said: Newcastle on tap These are the only choices I've seen on board. desertdwellingsailor Posted February 1 #17 Share Posted February 1 Had Heineken on tap near the pool on Discovery in October 2022. Unfortunately the beer ran out before I got a full glass and the beer was not as good as a normal Heineken in a bottle maybe because it was the last bit. KreinKrunker Posted February 2 #19 Share Posted February 2 Have only seen Stella, Heineken, and Newcastle. Never three at a time. If there two taps, one is usually Newcastle, and the other is Stella or Heinie. Have seen fewer live taps in the last year.
Rare New2cruise2022 Posted February 2 #20 Share Posted February 2 From a food service standpoint, bottles and cans make more sense, especially with OceanNow. Order a beer and the server doesn’t have to go to a bar to get it, or involve another employee. Any server could go to a fridge and grab the right beer to bring to you. (And yes, I will definitely use OceanNow to have a beer bottle float across the ship to my location.)
damiross Posted February 2 Author #21 Share Posted February 2 Thanks, all. Because I have the Plus package and I don't drink much, I was thinking of getting a couple of cans of beer a day for drinking at home. after the cruise. My plus package is on top of a casino offer. According to my computations, the total coast is only about $100 more than the fare plus tips plus Wi Fi. That additional cost was before Princess decided to charge for Alfredo's and increase Wi Fi prices.
nasa1974 Posted February 2 #22 Share Posted February 2 Never seen draft beer on a ship. Then again, I wasn't looking for it. I'll have to be more observant in April on the Caribbean.
