Very insulting to Silversea sailors when someone sails fewer days at a lower cost on Celebrity and then ends up with more benefits than a loyal Silversea sailor. And often more benefits than they would receive on Celebrity! The greatest benefit is the 5% to 10% discount off the price of a cruise and free laundry! Some have asked about jumping lines and other preferential treatment on Silversea because of their status match. Silversea does not have the class system with respect to where one can dine, lounges, pool decks, etc. that Celebrity has created. Everyone enjoys the entire ship. Are you considering cruising on another line instead of Celebrity? So I answered Yes. Already sailed on MSC once and am sailing on MSC again in September. There should have been a 3rd option: Already have! 1
Pushka Posted June 26 #54 Share Posted June 26 Not considering but have done so, multiple times. We sail for itinerary. We have had two fabulous Viking cruises since the last celebrity cruise. We have completed 3 celebrity cruises and have one booked another celebrity next year. Also another Viking one. There's no such thing as loyalty that's worth it so go for the experience you want at that time.
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted June 26 #55 Share Posted June 26 I love Celebrity and always check to see what’s offered when planning for cruises. But I’m loyal to no cruise line…to my wallet only. I will cruise with whichever line gives me the most bang for the buck in the nicest accommodation possible. Lately, that’s been MSC yacht club. 8

Ipeeinthepools Posted June 26 #57 Share Posted June 26 A better question is, "Will we ever return to Celebrity?" Shorter itineraries, IV balconies on E-class ships and current high pricing has sent me to the exit gates. I'll continue to look at Celebrity to see if there is an interesting itinerary, but I currently don't have any cruises booked on Celebrity.
Spif Barwunkel Posted June 26 #58 Share Posted June 26 Celebrity remains our cruise line of choice, though not exclusively so. From December 2023 through December 2025, 8 cruises include 4 X, 2 Princess, 1RC, 1 Virgin. More likely than not, 2026 will begin with an NCL cruise. NCL, Princess and Virgin will host us as first-timers. If one enjoys the cruising life, it is nice to have a comfortable primary residence while also having the opportunity to enjoy other cruise lines and what they offer. It should be noted that cruising with other lines is not based on negative experiences with Celebrity. Rather, it is based on curiosity and the ability to explore that curiosity. 3
Rare Texed Posted June 26 #59 Share Posted June 26 We tried most other lines already. Princess, Holland America, Oceania, Azamara, Regent, etc. We pretty well stick with Celebrity now. But, we are open to try a few more.

I don’t like the lack off of balconies on the E class ships. Also, the gratuities have disappeared from A.I. So, we are trying Princess which has both.

I’m curious, what is it besides the above mentioned that attracts you to Princess? I’ve tried them many times and know many who love them but I am always bored and a little let down on my Princess cruises. They do have excellent cabin layouts, generally good itineraries and pricing but again…maybe it’s just me.
a350flyer Posted June 27 Author #62 Share Posted June 27 Tried virgin this year and loved it. Not the party ship and young crowd I expected. Although I didn’t travel on a 3-5 day cruise that could potentially attract rowdy cruisers. Excited to see what Azamara will be like since their new leader just started. Rare Cruise Junky Posted June 27 #64 Share Posted June 27 I like Celebrity but HAL’s itineraries are about 100x better. We have 4 cruises booked right now. 2 on X and 2 on HAL.

Agree, from what I have been looking at HAL and Oceania have very interesting itineraries and the length of their cruises are far more desirable than Celebrity. For my $$$ going forward, Celebrity is for me only a TA. Otherwise I am looking at the other two.
Rare mcatmcat Posted June 27 #66 Share Posted June 27 Im not loyal but im not leaving the brand. The more i watch youtube videos about princess , HAL,MSC, oceania I ge to the conclusion that I am staying with royal and X, maybe one day I will do virgin. Shows are the best. Free fitness classes and even free shuttle from port to Mykonos.
conquesodor Posted June 27 #68 Share Posted June 27 Such a poorly worded question, so it's no surprise that people are answering differently. Celebrity is my favorite cruise line, but I don't sail Celebrity exclusively. I have sailed on a few other cruise lines for one reason or another, and enjoyed those cruises, but I still look to Celebrity as my first choice.
Dave JS Posted July 12 #69 Share Posted July 12 We have only sailed on Celebrity since our children moved out. It is difficult to have confidence in Celebrity since they change the rules a lot and you have to book cruises a year plus in advance to get a good choice of cabins etc. We do not like the Edge Infinite Veranda cabins and cruise in winters as our winter vacation, leaving us with mostly or exclusively Edge ships. Thus, we are looking for alternatives.

Edge class is available too but certainly is not the only game in town. Your other reasoning seems a bit flimsy as well. Obviously, Celebrity disappoints you, so probably best that you go elsewhere. Rare Cruise till you drop Posted July 12 #72 Share Posted July 12 (edited) I am Platinum on Carnival and Princess but since we started cruising with Celebrity, we have found that what this cruise line and ships offer is much more in line with our tastes and expectations. So we are here to stay but not to say we won’t try other lines at the same time. For example, we have a double booking for Alaska next year with Celebrity and Princess (since Princess does Glacier Bay). However Princess is creating a lot of angst for us with their recent dining reservation nightmare system and considering moving to the Edge (Dawes glacier) Edited July 12 by Cruise till you drop

Arubamoose Posted July 12 #75 Share Posted July 12 We are Loyal to Royal (D+) but also Elite in our own right on Celebrity. Have done a few NCL and a lone CCL and MSC - but not in a while. Have done 2 Viking River cruises and are now considering doing one of their ocean cruises. Our friends are steering us there and I am willing based on the service we received on their river product. But I will probably miss the shows and casino. But honestly - I am open to ANY CRUISE!!
