  1. Just returned from my annual cardiology evaluation. Cardiologist said my heart is working as advertised! Alway good news. @Cruising-alongSorry to hear about your cousins medical condition!🙏
  2. Thanks I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did. I would still let cabin steward know so the USB’s work for the next person.
  3. We just finished an Onward cruise. Ship is looking great and we had a great time. One heads up. After getting to our cabin one of our I Phones needed charging so we plugged into the USB port ( underneath bedside lamps) and neither USB port worked. Our cabin steward came by and stated those USB ports are not compatible sometimes with I Phones! We mentioned this at our Meet and Mingle and other I Phone users stated not true their USB ports worked. Saw our cabin attendant and told him that other guest stated their phones charged in USB. Within 15 minutes a electrician arrived installed some parts in each USB and phones charged as they are supposed to. So if this happens to you don’t accept the I Phones are not compatible phrase. Ask to have them repaired.
  4. Morning folks! We achieved a lot yesterday with unpacking, laundry, mail sorting, bill paying and enjoying our recliners! Today is my annual cardiology evaluation and tonight we’ll meet with our church small group. In other words not many other things planned. It’s around 67F with a forecasted high in mid seventies. In looking around my yard and neighborhood the recent freezing temperatures has damaged a lot of shrubbery and plantings. Will wait and see if they survived with new growth. Need to do do some preparation for tonight’s small group get together. Thanks to all and continued prayers.
  5. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement and thank you for your years of service in the work force.
  6. On Jan 5 we had a Azamara Transfer pick us up at hotel. Hotel stored our luggage after checkout . Azamara transfer picked us at 1:00 and drove us to Terminal C. Handed over our checked luggage to porters then easily checked in and was giving boarding tag number two. Group one was called at two and we quickly followed. Getting to terminal early is not going to get you onboard any earlier. We disembarked Tuesday again Terminal C and the Azamara pre arranged transfer to airport was very efficient. It was a great cruise.
  7. Used Star Link on our Azamara cruise this week. How fast? Was able to download a Kindle E-book in two minutes. Keep in mind that the system is depending on satellites in the area you’re cruising. As new satellites are launched the better the coverage. It definitely worked in the Caribbean. Fastest and most consistent WiFi ever on a ship.
  8. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport; fastest growing airport in US (they advertise). Runway is largest AFB in free world Eglin AFB.
  9. Good morning! We arrived home twenty minutes later than scheduled. Sue was headed to bed at 7:30 and I struggled to nine. I used to utilize a thesaurus quite often during my military career for speeches and writings but now you get whatever spews out of my mouth. I so rarely write these days I struggle with my penmanship. Really missing having a latte alfresco and being waited on hand and foot but so Blessed we get to experience our cruises over and over again. On our last day of cruise we attended a Q&A with Captain, HD and Chief Engineer. It really opened our eyes as the daily supply issues they struggle with every day. Not getting enough black pants for crew or officers waiting until last week to receive scabbard rank insignias to wear on their epaulets. Certain wines and liquors never arrive, bottled glassware shortage due to gas shortage in Europe. One really has to cruise with an open mind and patience these days. HD stated “ yes we had no bananas on a particular cruise when the order was rejected at port due to they were rotten!” Tomorrow I have an appointment for my annual echocardiogram followed by seeing my cardiologist. Six years ago I had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve with a bovine valve. Yes, DW does say once in awhile I moo in my sleep! Thanks to all who post and continued thoughts and prayers for those in need. Kazu I hope your orthopedic appointment today gives you some reassurance and relief from pain. Enjoy the day!
  10. Now that I’m in Sky Lounge awaiting final flight home I have time to look for some pics from our April 2019 Maasdam visit to Tonga. The Kings Palace, reception band and watching the fishing pigs furrowing for crustaceans at low tide made for a memorable visit. Looking forward to my recliner and bed! Long day!
  11. Good morning! Well the fork lifts are honking away which means we are at Terminal C in the Port Of Miami and our cruise is over. I’m sure glad I didn’t pack my sweater in hallway bag as I will need it this morning. Rather nippy in Miami! We have a ships transfer to airport then a three hour wait for flight and another 3 hour layover in Atlanta. If all goes well we will be home around 6:15 PM Central Time. It was a great cruise and our next one will be on Eurodam in April. Florida to Seattle and some new ports along the way. Roy thanks for the report and list. Off to get a latte and a lite breakfast. Bruce
  12. Have been in Club Continent Suite #8033 on Onward for eleven nights now. Maybe three noises from above entire cruise and that was prepping for White Night. I’ll also add it’s been one the quietest cabins we have had in over 500 days at sea. Must have been well built as no squeaking, groaning noise during rough seas. We will be in this cabin for 155 days on 2023 World Cruise. Can’t wait!🛳
  13. The theme of the night doesn’t mean everyone has to eat Chinese there’s other options. How good is new Starlink internet connection? Yesterday I downloaded a Kindle E-Book in less then two minutes. One thing you have to realize the rooms are smaller and really small bathrooms in many cabins. Take some You Tube tours of these ships.
  14. Good morning! All things do come to an end and today is our last day of the cruise. It has been a good one. Will be home for a couple of weeks then it’s off to Cancun to our time share for two weeks. Catching up on all our Covid cancellations is keeping us busy. It’s a small world sometimes. Ate in the MDR last and started talking to the couple at table next to us. Turns out we live six miles from them! Last night’s dinner theme was China. I had egg drop soup and a delicious beef stir fry. We skipped dessert and went to the first show and watched the singer and dancers who are very talented and put on a great show. We turned our clocks back an hour last night so we enjoyed the extra hour. Headed off to breakfast. Thanks for the Reports and here’s wishing all a good week. Bruce
  15. Now this is one decadent cocktail. Forgive me Father as I have sinned.
  16. If memory is correct I believe it was because no wash stations nearby? All they would need is a couple of those portable hand washers. I’m enjoying many things that used to be on BHB’s. This morning I went to pastry station and one of the staff said can I help you. I said I was just seeing if you had any plain donuts? He stated just a minute. Came back and said where are you sitting? A few minutes later freshly made and warm donuts were delivered for dunking with my coffee! Dover Sole is not on menu but if you let them know in advance of your specialty restaurant reservation they will prepare it for you. We are in lowest suite category which includes no cost for dining in specialty restaurants. Enjoy your day! How about those Jaguars!
  17. Good morning! We have a little ship movement this morning and right now sailing under some dark skies. Enjoyed our day in Tortola and we also got some pool time in. Ship had a pool side Buffet with some charcoal grilled items. Ship’s band played some jazz as we sailed away at our 2:00 PM departure. Had a great Dover Sole dinner and we went to show and watched a mentalist baffle all of us. Today we are attending a lecture and have a wine tasting at 2:00 PM. Thanks Roy and prayers to all in need. Our internet is so good we may try our church’s online service.
  18. Funny! T-Mobile now so I don’t have to run around searching for WiFi. I sure wish Hal will get Starlink. It was installed on this ship a few weeks ago. Very fast and we were able to watch a 30 minute You Tube video stream without delaying reloads.
  19. Good morning! We will be arriving soon in Tortola, , British Virgin Islands which will be our last Caribbean visit followed by two sea days to Miami. It has been a wonderful cruise and the weather has been great. Seas have been calm and the crew has been outstanding. Off to coffee. Thanks for all who make the Daily a daily habit!
  20. We had an Azamazing Evening this week in Barbados on our Azamara Onward cruise. Held in Bridgetown’s large Cricket arena.
  21. Called Lobster and Champagne Tour. Six hour tour sailing along beautiful shoreline with two beach stops for swimming. They grilled the lobster onboard caterman then set up tables and chairs and they served us lunch on plates. Large catamaran that holds quite a lot of folks but we all found space. Beverages alcohol, beer, wine and bubbly included. First time Antigua and it’s beautiful. Excuse my thumb!🙁
  22. All I know so far it is a catamaran ride including lobster lunch. Will let you know. Your forward echelon scout. B.
