  1. How are the septic/ toilet and A/C systems..? Two past problem areas for Inf..plus bathrm mildew... Painting things and new carpet and soft goods does not always mean systems are updated
  2. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! The cake is the usual,item..and maybe small rose or flowers from Cap Club,,..hit or miss Used to have Anniv parties.. but no more, I usually cruise on my b day..we dress up for the night...and Celebrate..sometimes with a small gathering with folks from the roll call if we have an active group!
  3. She is Royal C trained, so maybe her ideas of culinary standards differ from the original X standards of excellence which s he may not have experienced..? Her tenure is noted for the decline of "Modern Luxury.".,.main focus on suite class ....no idea about her bottom line performance..
  4. Have not been to both... Rousseau also has a bontanical garden.( small) or did when we were there quite awhile ago. The whole island is a natural wonder. We took a very long ship's tour which is the best way see this lush, beautiful place... The town did not offer much..there was a run down restaurant, (No burgers, but served pork), a few shops, and a small outdoor market type area along the pier..spices etc. Things may have changed????
  5. Some Ca ports are ridiculous. We "re-booked" a Specialty Dining res WHILE IN PORT at the restaurant so we could get our E + discount..and were then assessed a local tax. No one explained that would happen. Eventually X gave us a credit back via Guest Rel but we cancelled ALL specialty dining on our Pacific Coastal Cruise! Buyer Beware!
  6. I believe MANKIND the store....was instead of Tiffany's along the corridor to EDEN.. It had a very small selection at inflated prices...much like other stores on board. DH said nothing caught his eye..at any price! That area would have made a nice little wine bar or Specialty Coffees....wonder how well it will do there?
  7. They may have an ELITE elegant tea but never had high tea on Celebrity. Cunard QM 2 had a wonderful tea...quite posh
  8. yes, quite a few children .it is a .popular family vacation time ,,Airports and pre cruise hotels will also be crowded Expensive week for travel.,
  9. Agree.it is a safety nightmare and huge waste of space having such a huge useless tub.. I enjoyed one soak but getting out was very scary.. not enough grab bars... Also they have the potty room way back .. right opposite the alleged dressing table..seat for that was a poor fit...Bathroom took up lots of slace but was not well designed in our opinion! Sep shower and a smaller tub would have worked much better! We enjoyed having the suit, but will not be sad returning to AQ Class
  10. If you cancel the pre purchased wifi..price may be higher if u try to book it on board. But to just cancel should be ok
  11. I would not cancel..someone else will get your slot. Best bet is to try and have the maitre d switch this when you are at the restaurant.,and seated. It may work or it may not. Or afterwards try to have guest relations switch it. Things like this are quite hit or miss with X but I wish u luck.. Enjoy the dinner!
  12. we tried BLU on Beyond in Nov For us ..It was much better than Luminae all around. Menu, Service, freshness of food (ex : shrimp cocktail, bread) we liked the pre dinner spreads..better than the mystery amuse bouche in luminae atmoshphere was bright in BLU, nice sea views!
  13. X surveys have been more about marketing over customer satisfaction for quite awhile. Makes it more ironic as staff on ship still beg for high survey ratings! It's the Royal way! I agree with comments above that shopping on E class needs a revamp..How many really buy very expensive jewelry versus how many would like a better selection of souveniers, tees and gifts for children and grandchildren? On BEYOND, the used clothing and handbag section was like a shabby flea market. Meanwhile nicer new items were stuck in the rear of the shop.
  14. Spa cafe in Solarium...limited offerings and limited seating..but if you get there early it is quiet....Mast Grill for burgers. No MDR and no BLU
  15. Good choices.but why not add Rawn on 5... We went in Nov,..lots of good choices besides Sushi., excellent service Books up quickly
  16. OP Where did you have dinner? 4 mdrs, Luminae, BLU? We had Luminae on BEYOND in Nov. before announced cutbacks...home of the tiny lobster, mushy shrimp and burnt veggie slithers. BLU was much better..we are going back to BLU on our next cruise.. Buffet was adequate..not superb!
  17. When folks get cold eggs and dried out toast, plus mixed up orders, they may believe they paid way too much.. of course, a sep tip for deliv person would be out of the question.. Only neg is that more folks will carry plates of food and hot coffee onto elevators to spill on other guests and the floors..not fun!
  18. They are interrupting dining hours and using senior food staff to put out their excuses for buffet cutbacks.. like having the Cap take part in jewelry store previews! Sad! All these smart f and people should be able to reduce quantities served whlle serving high quality food beyond pork and beans , pasta, rice and bologna! Must be an app for that!
  19. Another point of view...posted on thread started by SRQ BEACH GIRL ! Makes some good points.altho new to X "DH and I boarded the Reflection today for our first Celebrity cruise. If first impressions are anything to go by, we're going to have a very happy week. We boarded shortly after 11am and have already had lunch and explored the entire ship (even played ping pong). " "So far we have not seen a single kid. Not one. And no herds of family reunions with matching t-shirts. No yelling at Uncle Bob across the room. No teenagers jumping lines at the buffet (actually, no lines for anyone to jump). No massive 20-something year old groups already clogging up the hot tubs. No "bump and grind" music blasting at ear-splitting levels on the Lido deck. I'm in heaven. Might have just found us a new cruise line if our first impressions hold true for the week."
  20. Sometimes it speeds things up...and u get a temp credit back..
  21. we are snowbirds, not cruising much these days.and are no longer the target demographic....but they still gladly take our money! In Nov, we enjoyed our first suite experience on BEYOND..used up accumulated fcc. Cruise and ship were outstanding other than Luminae dining which was not our style. We just booked AQ class (our go to) on Ascent for 2024. Very nice 7 night itin.. We are used to the Celeb systems (quirks and all) , enjoy BLU, Elite lite breakfast, Cafe Baccio thermal suites , Solarium & the spa.. No smoking is a plus, and we like meeting fellow cruisers..still a nice group lively enough but not wild!. The live music is usually excellent as are many of the newer shows. We enjoy the X excursions and some of the repeat ports. The included alcohol plan , laundry internet perks work ok for our needs. We usually do 2 specialty dinners per cruise..( EDEN & Fine Cut for ASCENT.) We will evaluate value, cutbacks and management attitudes that directly affect us as we go along. No other cruise line has caught our eye..abandoned Royal awhile ago and still feel X is a step up from there.
  22. They are tone deaf so they might still Celebrate themselves! Their cruise line, their bubble!
