kwazi07 Posted April 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Saw on a "Royal Caribbean blog" that the Royal site doesn't say shorts are allowed at dinner in the MDR..."Shorts are welcomed for breakfast and lunch." It doesn't explicitly ban shorts, but implies that you shouldn't wear them in the MDR. Why the change? Sent from Tapatalk
Biker19 Posted April 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Why the change? So we can have endless debate on CC about it.
TominNC Posted April 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2017 As soon as it gets quiet they'll update the blog to include shorts and set off a new round.
George C Posted April 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2017 There policy was always shorts were not allowed in MDR for dinner but they rarely enforce dress codes, have seen short last several cruises in MDR for dinner, but never know if it will be enforced in future

Someone should have RCI update the "what to pack" page in that case where it lists many more casual than smart casual nights in the MDR.

On the Navigator Cruise Compii last month, they still had three casual nights where you are supposed to wear "Hawaiian shirts". aenglish1609 Posted April 6, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 6, 2017 I have worn shorts in the MDR before, and I will probably wear them again on our cruise next week. If they decide to enforce it, I will change. It's really not as big of a deal as people make it out to be.
cb at sea Posted April 6, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Shorts have always been allowed during breakfast or lunch...but they "suggest" long pants for men during dinner. Capris on women have always been fine.

Rare vacationlover_mn Posted April 6, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 6, 2017 LOL- now the dress code is so confusing that they need a grid for it. Maybe they'll develop an app for it next ;)
Rare mcatmcat Posted April 6, 2017 #16 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Windjammer requires casual for dinner? Really???? I have second seating and sometimes I go with my shirt straight from the pool to get some small bites, no one have told me anything about my shorts. Someone should have RCI update the "what to pack" page in that case where it lists many more casual than smart casual nights in the MDR. Maybe they should just add them to the banned items list, put people's luggage in the naughty room and keep them until the end of the cruise along with their irons and power strips and microwaves. flyinguy777 Posted April 6, 2017 #24 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Looking at the little chart thing, when are the Formal nights? I'm sailing on the Anthem July 20th, 9 night, and I was first told there will be 2 Formal nights, but the little chart doesn't say anything about them? Biker19 Posted April 6, 2017 #25 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Looking at the little chart thing, when are the Formal nights? That chart has nothing to do when formal is - just tells you what to wear during one.
