What are the best things to do on a cruise?

Enjoy the views and new places you see but most importantly RELAX. Enjoy the time away from our hectic lives. Love to sit on the balcony with a good book, my DW and watch the sea go by.

We are partially retired (we like to say "refocused"), so all that "relaxing" is sort of lost on us! We like to have things to do...not every minute, but options for fun things is a plus! We really enjoy live music, so that's a big factor for us.

For us it depends in the cruise. On some, it's all about relaxing on the sun deck or Beach, getting to know our fellow cruisers, and indulging in long, enjoyable meals then taking in the evening entertainment.

 

On others, the ship is just a place to sleep, shower, and grab something to eat. What we're most interested in, and enjoy most, are exploring and learning about the ports of call, in places we may never see again.

I love being on the ocean and watching for the occasional dolphins and flying fish. Also, it's kind of exciting when coming into port, even if it's a place we've been to before.

Sleep. The best night's sleep I ever got was on the old Celebrity Galaxy. I had an inside cabin down low in the ship. The pitch black darkness removed all concept of time passing. Lying in that little bed was like being rocked in a cradle. I had flown from the US east coast for a cruise leaving Vancouver, Canada. It is a three hour time difference. I expected to wake up extra early. I was so cozy in my floating cocoon, I slept through breakfast instead.
