Hi Terry, it is sunny today with a high of about 60.......tonight is supposed to be 34.

Appreciate Lois' follow-up (and gentle rubbing it in).  As noted, it is much worse in Siberia and for other locations!!

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

From AccuWeather. here is our Central Ohio weather for the next two weeks.  Cold be better.  Could be worse??!!  Below is what is happening in Siberia.  Much, much worse there!!!!.:

This song brings me so much joy these days!  I sing along at the top of my lungs!  No complaints from our apartment neighbours yet!  And Myster is wearing his own headphones!  😁  Thanks spins!!!!!

Now that some Coolers have shared my interest in sea shanties here are some factoids about Wellerman (the song I posted a link to)......

The Weller Bros. was a Sydney Australia shore-whaling company that operated primarily along the southern coast of New Zealand from 1830 to 1840. Though they had numerous vessels in their employ, none appear to have been named the Billy o' Tea. Anyone under the employ of the Weller Bros. were referred to as a Wellerman, but in the specific context of the song the Wellerman takes on the meaning of a supply ship sent by the company.
A Billy is slang for a makeshift kettle used for boiling water to make tea.
Tonguing refers to the tonguers, the part of a shore whaling team responsible for butchering the whale after it had been caught.

Lyrics......

There once was a ship that put to sea,
And the name of that ship was the Billy o' Tea
The winds blew hard, her bow dipped down,
Blow, me bully boys, blow!

Chorus (after each verse): (HUH!) Soon may the Wellerman come
to bring us sugar and tea and rum.
One day, when the tonguing' is done,
We'll take our leave and go.

She had not been two weeks from shore
When down on her a right whale bore.
The captain called all hands and swore
He'd take that whale in tow.

{Chorus}

Before the boat had hit the water
The whale's tail came up and caught her.
All hands to the side, harpooned and fought her,
When she dived down below.

{Chorus}
No line was cut, no whale was freed,
An' the captain's mind was not on greed!
But he belonged to the Whaleman's creed
She took that ship in tow

{Chorus}

For forty days or even more, t
he line went slack then tight once more,
All boats were lost, there were only four
and still that whale did go.

{Chorus}

As far as I've heard, the fight's still on,
The line's not cut, and the whale's not gone!
The Wellerman makes his regular call
to encourage the captain, crew and all!

A little veal marsala for dinner. With prosciutto as a secret ingredient.

Our 3-day weekend has come to an end. Back at it tomorrow.

The second shot hasn't given me nearly as much soreness in my shoulder as the first one did. That's really odd. I barely feel it now, and last time it was tender for about 5 days. Wondering if we got a defective batch? 😉

But I've been really tired the past two days. Hopefully that gets better in a hurry or it will be a long week on-call.

Not that I've noticed. Of course I only own thermometers for our fish tanks, and for cooking meat to rare...

JP I'm scheduled for my second shot on February 4 and have been going to school on your experience.  Hopefully mine will be the same -- nada!  🙂

Sweet tea with rum is known as Gunfire in the British Army. It is a traditional wake-me-up on Christmas morning. I personally dislike it as I hate tea and am not that fond of rum!

Soon I expect we will see Mysty taking up scrimshaw and making perfume out of ambergris...

Stay tuned.

Seriously spins, if taking up those arts would get me back at sea I would do that in a blink!  😁

Say it isn't so! Hopefully you haven't ruined one of our favorite dance songs (#12)...

I am still feeling pretty exhausted today. Thought I was going to have a fever this morning for sure, but my temperature check was normal.

Putting one foot in front of the other and slogging through work but wish I was home. Hopefully this post-vaccine crud runs its course soon, before I run out of Tylenol.

Still, it has to be better than the real thing. My sister is two months out, and still feels like I do, on a good day. And this is the sister who ran 7 marathons on 7 consecutive days. I'll gladly take a few sluggish days if that's the alternative.
