Anytime Dining

We are doing a B2B in November. We chose anytime dining. We usually eat around 7:00 PM. Is it possible to ask the maître d’ if we can have the same table each night? I enjoy having the same wait staff. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is. When you first get on the ship, look in the patter. It should have a time and place (dining room) that the maître d' will be in to take that request. It is usually the dining room not used for embarkation lunch and time is usually around 1;30- 2 PM. You can also request chef's table wait list at that meeting time.

These things can fluctuate from ship to ship.......

For this type of request see the MD at the time/place listed in the embarkation day Patter.

Usually held in one of the DR's between 2:00pm and 3:30.

He has the power.

Since you are coming in around when the first group of diners is finishing you might be placed at an adjacent table with the same waiters if "your" table isn't quite done eating yet. For a two-top they mostly clear out in an hour or hour fifteen after the dining room opens. The headwaiters at the dining room entrance will help make things work if you tell they you like the waiters you have.

Thanks for noting that. That thought crossed my mind too.

We stopped doing Anytime because of the crowds when we wanted to eat. 7 PM is prime Anytime dining. Yes, there are crowds when they open, but that's also the case for traditional. People just like to line up.

I've found if you are willing to share the possibility to eat whenever you get here is greater. If you want a smaller table, well, there is sometimes a wait.

When we did do anytime, they would allow us to get a reservation for "opening time". Booking a set time for an early or later time is usually available, at least for the those who ask.

We normally eat around 7:15 - 7:30. Once we find table and wait staff that we want each night, we call the dine line (around 8am) and reserve that table. They may ask that you slide back to 7:45 on the formal nights.Once you get a reservation set, then talk to the M D at the entrance and ask if you have the table for the rest of the cruise. Some will do it and some will not. Tell them that you love the wait staff and location and they may try to keep you happy. Our last cruise on the Caribbean Princess we had the same 4 top table in front of a window and had a blast, cutting up so much that the MD and Head Waiter came by to see what was going on. Once they saw how much fun we were having with our staff and the surrounding staffs they allowed us to just come on in, even on the night or two that we forgot to call

That sounds like a polite way to asking people to quiet down due to complaints from adjoining tables.

I can't imagine having to put up with a nearby table having that much "fun" with everyone's servers every night. Yikes!

That's what it's like in club class becasue you can be next to a large table in the regular dining room with merely a red velvet rope separating the areas. CC is vey noisy and needs it;s own space with real separation/noise reduction.

Reservations for anytime dining defeats the purpose of anytime. Wish they would not allow reservations at all for anytime.

Spot on. The words "anytime" and "reservation" should not be in the same sentence when it comes to anytime dining. We do anytime because we like to vary our eating times and allowing people to reserve tables at set times stuffs this up. We used to do traditional but found the times either too early or too late.
