Maybe this has been asked before...but... while I have not received an email to upgrade (Dec 5th date) I am able to go into the royal up page and put in my info and it says I am eligible. However, it only shows upgrades as high as a Jr. Suite. Looking over the my sailing there are literally tons of crown lofts and various other suites available. I am currently in a balcony so I am wondering why only

You need to be in at least an ocean view balcony to bid on GS/OS CLS suites. If you are in say a neighborhood balcony, the highest class you will be able to bid on is a JS.

I can confirm this. We were neighborhood balcony gty on Harmony Nov 21 and our RU options were up to Jr Suite. Got a good deal to upgrade to Jr Suite and once the RU updated we then had the option to bid on all suites above Jr suite.

Has anyone ever been RoyalUp blacked out?   On our upcoming cruise we tried to log in to see what was out there and got a message that my cruise wasn't open for Royal Up, check back 30 days out.

Well, I'm 14 days out now and still getting the same message

Others on my sailing have been able to bid for weeks, and even got reminders to bid over and over again.

We never got one.

There is only one other suite nicer than ours that can fit our party of 5, but I would have liked a chance to bid on it.

Has anyone heard of just not being allowed to bid while others are?

Correction to my last reply:  we are six days out and still pending with no option to modify/cancel.  Fingers crossed!!  (Not obsessed at all.  lol)

I hope it worked out for you. The JS was amazing and the Coastal Kitchen for dining was great. Presentation of food and the food was piping hot. Our only regret was not checking the app again before formal night. Prior to formal night the menu at Coastal Kitchen did not have lobster, so we opted for the main dining room. After the fact, we found out they did have lobster and I'm pretty sure it was a notch above the lobster in the MDR. The service in Coastal was also amazing and it was never crowded!

Through whom did you book?  There is a certain big-box travel agency that does not participate in the RoyalUp program.  There may be others.

We got the JS upgrade email just now!!  Super excited.  Can anyone tell me what kind of bathroom to expect (shower/tub/# of toilets/etc.)?  The Odyssey has only sparse details about staterooms on the site.  We are in 12638 -  J4 starboard on the bump out.  I'd appreciate any details you might have!

Woo-hoo!!!

I believe it is the two bathroom suite. One bathroom with a toilet and a sink, the second is a sink, bathtub and walk in shower with bench. (Only one toilet). We were also on the hump. I also don't think they upgrade everyone because the suite next to us was empty.

Same agency i've used for years,  and no, it's not a big box store.

i've participated and won several times....   not sure what's going on.

Also, just an FYI... Just off the Odyssey yesterday and they mentioned hoping to up the passengers to over 3000 (I think they mentioned 3500) in the next few weeks. So bidding may be tougher if the number of passengers increases. (We had 1395 passengers with 1500 crew members, it was awesome).

There could be a whole bunch of reasons Royal Up doesn't work for you - it could be as simple as who is listed first on the booking. The first person may be able to bid while the second can't (assuming different last names).

The November 11 sailing of the Mariner is showing “sold out” for balconies and suites, guarantees only for ocean views, and numerous insides available.  Does this indicate to you that they are in the process of allocating cabins, or just the result of the preferences of booked guests?

Not sure you can read anything into what the web site currently lists for any sailing.

I put offers on a Grand Suite (1 bedrm), JR Suite & Crown Loft Suite. My GS & JR expired immediately, the CLS is still pending. My sailing is Sunday, Nov 12th. My husband (who I haven't been in the same state with for over a month 😔) tested positive for C19 on Friday. So, I haven't been exposed and still want to sail with our daughter. (On a side note, DH will be fine, mild symptoms but won't be able to pass the health questionnaire).

My DH & I are both Diamond + members, DD is a Diamond member. Does C&A status play into RoyalUp bids? Should I wait to take my DH off the reservation & add our DD or is there zero correlation between status and offer acceptance?

Nobody knows for absolute sure but since RU is operated by a third party who has no accessibility to anyone's C&A status, it is strongly believed that C&A status has no bearing on RU bidding at all.

So sorry to hear about your husband's COVID diagnosis.  What an absolute bummer.

Having the same issue rn. Travel companion in another cabin has been able to get in to Royal UP. I haven’t. We were both originally blocked. We are both booked with a small independent TA with group discounts.

Nothing for me, he’s bid on a bunch of stuff.

working with Royal and my TA to see if there’s a resolution or if I am just not randomly eligible.

Thanks for the info.

The C19 diagnosis is totally a bummer. This was supposed to be our first cruise post shut down. One of the main reasons we got our vaccines when we did was so we could cruise! I guess at least he got sick before we left & not on a ship.

So, we called and after a lot of checking, the representative told us that our bid was accepted and that we would be notified a few days before our cruise. Today (5 days out) we got the email that our bid was accepted...

Who did you call? I didn't use a TA, booked through Casino Royale. I called them for something else recently & they were clueless about every but new bookings.

Nope  --- all same last name.   You enter your reservation number and last name on the form....  no option for first names...   same error message

Just received my email today that I won my bid to upgrade from a balcony cabin to an Owner's Suite on Independence this weekend.  As a solo.

Going to be interesting to compare this experience with my two latest cruises, which were in a Haven Courtyard Penthouse Suite on NCL Getaway in September 2018 and a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite on MSC Meraviglia in August of this year.  I know there won't be a Butler on this ship like NCL and MSC, but should I plan for tip money for the Concierge?  Not sure if Royal includes them in the daily service charge pool or not.
