We don’t drink... without NCL drink package, what drinks must we pay for?

Family of 3. Going on NCL Escape from NYC on March 24. We have not bought any drinks packages and wonder if we will regret that decision.

But here’s the thing: none of us drink soda; we the adults barely drink any alcohol; and our daughter drinks just water and occasionally cranberry juice or lemonade when we eat out. My husband is the same as her: the occasional juice, but mostly water.

I drink coffee and am pretty picky. Planning to bring my own coffee for the room and Starbucks French Roast VIA for dining rooms. I’m fine with that.

My question is: Will my husband and daughter be able to order a juice 2-3x a day without being charged extra every time? If not, how much will that cost us every day?

Alternately: If we buy them the SODA package, can juice be swapped in instead?  (I wish there were a juice package!)

Any advice would be appreciated!

Juice from concentrate should be available in the buffet in the morning. Iced tea, coffee, milk should be available throughout the day either in the MDR or buffet and of course regular water is available (our friend was always able to get a glass of water from a bar with a slice of lemon without being charged). If you order juice it will probably come with a charge but you can verify this before ordering. Soda package is for soda only. Without any packages you'll need to pay for soda and alcohol drinks.

You may want to double check on the NCL board to see if there are any brewers available in the staterooms for coffee but if there are they may be limited to certain pod or pack styles that may not be compatible with what you would bring for yourself.  And bringing your own coffer maker is not permitted as it is a fire hazard.  They will also not brew your own coffee for you in the dining rooms.  The best that you can likely hope for is to get hot water from the buffet that usually is available for tea bags.

Here is the NCL board link:

Ice water, coffee, tea (iced or hot), lemonade, milk and juice during breakfast is included in your fare.  Soda and alcohol carry a charge.  If you bring a refillable bottle or large mug, you can take some juice for later, if you wish.

If you want something other than the "included" items, you may pay for them "a la carte"...you don't NEED a package to get anything!

We do not drink alcohol or juice with the exception of all natural cranberry. We prefer water and never buy a beverage package. We spent nearly all of our life in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn rocks.

Juice will be free at breakfast. Iced tea, tap water, hot tea, coffee, and lemonade will be available at all dining venues all day for free. The buffet will also have a selection of self serve sugar free flavored drinks all day, not juice, but the closest you’ll get for free. We like to bring big refillable mugs and fill them at the buffet to carry around with us all day.

as to the coffee, not sure how you plan on brewing your own. You could get hot water from the buffet and use a French press. Some rooms will have a hotel style coffee maker with included pods (it’s def not a keurig or anything like that), but not all rooms. Can’t recall on norwegian which room types have it and which don’t. Starbucks via and hot water from the buffet should work fine.

i wouldn’t stress too much about the lack of a juice package. If they want juice 2-3 times a day, they can get it free at breakfast. So buying a juice 1-2 times a day would still come out less than a soda or similar package. See if the drinks at the buffet and lemonade hit the craving and if not, ordering the juice as you go would still be less than the other options.

Thanks!  The research I did on the in-room coffee machines in my aft balcony room (*not* Haven) suggested that I could use Senseo pods.  Don't know if my research is correct though!
