Well not anywhere. I guess their cruise was one of those cruises with high number of elite and elite plus and the CC host loaded CC HH drinks on their Seapass cards for that cruise.

They are loaded on the cards for every cruise now. The change was a few months ago

We’re 3 points short of Elite status and we just booked the Millenium 15nt Vancouver to Japan on Sept 6. Too bad we won’t get Elite till after the cruise. The free laundry would come in handy. We’ll probably fill the laundry bag anyway for $20.

February of this year the Captains Club started loading unlimited drinks on your Seapass cards no matter the sailing or number of elite and elite + to have at any of the lounges during the 5 to 7 PM HH except the WCB, dining rooms and room service. You can also have your drinks in the Sky Lounge during the CC HH.

Yep, February of this year.

$50 minus any applicable CC discount.  Wash and fold.

We will be 3 points short of Elite at the end of the first of two B2B cruises.  Do you think we might be granted Elite perks on the second of the two cruises?  Thinking I might ask for special dispensation at the beginning of the second cruise from the Capt Club concierge.

Yes.   Just stop by the Captain's Club Hostess and she will be able to confirm your points and get you updated of the second cruise.   We were traveling with friends and they had the same happen on a B2B and the CCH was able to get them upgraded and given a new card.

I have a question - since the Elite HH is from 5-7, and you can't get drinks in the dining room, so most Elite & above do late dining?  We're newly Elite, and will be in Aquaclass so dining in Blu.  I was told you can't make reservations, you just show up and wait your turn.  Should I expect Blu to be packed after 7pm?  We booked with no perks (got a killer resident rate) so no drink package for us, we were going to enjoy our Elite drinks every evening.  But not at the expense of a long dinner wait...

Last year on Silhouette, we were able to get a drink in the MDR, by presenting our card, provided it was before 7 pm.

Since they changed the Happy Hour back in February (on all ships), it specifically says the restaurant and World Class Bar are excluded. They might still make an exception on some sailings, but I wouldn't count on it. The did allow us to use it in the buffet (between 5 and 7) a few months ago. We usually ate in the MDR, so we just stopped at Rendez-Vous and got a glass of wine to take in to dinner.

Respectfully you should read the persons question -

"We will be 3 points short of Elite at the end of the first of two B2B cruises.  Do you think we might be granted Elite perks on the second of the two cruises? "

I was responding that yes they should be granted the status AFTER the first of the B2B

We typically arrive around 5, have a drink or two and some appetizers, and then head down to Blu around 6:15.  No waiting.  However, once the first show is over around 7:45 pm,  we have experienced a line and a wait.

People start to leave Blu shortly before 7 to take in the first show and that also  is a good time to arrive.

We were able to get the drinks last year in the MDR on Silhouette too. This June on Constellation were told no longer allowed.

We were in a similar situation a few years ago on a TA and were becoming Elite at the end of that cruise. All our friends we were travelling with were Elite and had the HH perks, which at that time included paper vouchers for 3 drinks at designated bars between 5 and 7 pm. Somebody in our group suggested to talk to the CC hostess and explain our situation. We did and here's what she said:  I can't make you Elite for this cruise, but what I can do is give you the drink vouchers for the rest of the cruise. And lo and behold, when we returned to our cabin later that evening, there were the drink vouchers laying on our bed...........it was one of the nicest things anybody had ever done for us! Asking nicely for something might just work!! Anne

Thank you.  We experienced similar gratuitous expressions from CCH last year resulting from friends with Elite Plus status. That is what prompted my initial question to see just how stringent the rules are.

With that....thank you all for your input.

I read it as they will be 3 points short of Elite at the beginning of the second leg of their B2B.  Therefore they will earn enough points for Elite after the second leg is completed.  I think their entire trip is one B2B (two cruises total).

We usually cruise in AQ without a drink package, we too are Elite and choose to spend the 5-7 time period at the Ensemble Lounge.

Around 6:50 we make the short walk to Blu and let them know we are ready to eat.

If they are full, they hand us a pager and we return to the Ensemble Lounge for another drink.

The majority of the time there are open tables and we don't have to wait and we are seated immediately.

First, thank you all again for your feedback.  We are actually on a B2B2B, three cruises total.  I tried to simply our scenario, but apparently it just caused confusion.  We did upgrade to a Suite prior to my question being posted. Someone had kindly made that suggestion as a way to possibly earn more points.  We thought of that too.  So, at the end of the 2nd of the 3, we will be 3 pts short of Elite going into the 3rd.  We will officially be anointed Elite status at the end of the 3rd cruise. I do intend to make a request to the CCH to be granted access to the HH during the 3rd cruise, but wouldn’t expect anything further.  I will not be ashamed to ask nor embarrassed if my request is rejected.  With that, can we please close the exchange associated with my question?  I think we’ve pretty much beaten it to its demise.  Thank you.

As far as Elite perks being cancelled, I've heard reference to priority tendering being cancelled for Elites because there were too many Elites onboard.  This would irritate me because I find the priority tendering to be one of the most valuable benefits.

I think it is more of a prioritization issue than a cutback based on my observations.  The typical situation is as follows: On every ship the Celebrity tours take highest priority especially the early ones when the ship is first cleared for tendering.  Next the passengers who are in Suites or Zenith will get higher priority and are escorted directly by the MC concierge who is in contact with the tendering staff and gets the go-ahead from them.  If a ship uses some type of ticket boarding system, the Elite/Elite+ get the higher priority tickets from the loyalty host/hostess.  I have been on a large ship (Reflection) where I have waited my turn with the Elite ticket in hand for quite some time early in the tendering process.  Not an issue but just following the process.  If there are a large number of Elite/Elite+ on board a larger ship at a tender port and everybody wants to get off early and at once there will be a bottleneck no matter what.  But this is not a cutback.  I personally pretty much always take a Celebrity tour in a tender port instead of a private tour in particular if it ventures a good distance from the ship.  That's just me being cautious on both ends.

Our experiences have been different than yours. None of our tender ports were we ever given priority tender tickets for being elite to board the tenders.  We've always received a notice from the CCH where and what time to meet to be escorted directly to the tenders to by pass those waiting with tender tickets.

our experience mirrors davekathy's....we just go to the "meeting point" for elite/elite + folks and when they are ready for us, someone tells us where to go, or more often than not, takes us to the tender area.  No tickets.  We rarely have more than a 5 minute wait...but we aren't trying to be the very first off the ship

And it's a nice perk. Especially for our September New England/Canada cruise on the Summit. We've got three tender ports on that itinerary.
