Thank you gift

My parents-in-law are taking my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, my husband and myself on a week cruise (we are leaving the college kids home).  We are all going on the cruise and have friends going too.  There will be 12 of us total.  My father-in-law is the travel agent.  I would like to do something nice for my parents-in-law but don't know what to do.

Cruise is in 2 weeks.

Looking for suggestions.

Thanks,

not sure what your budget is for this...and I'm not a 'photo person'... but maybe consider getting them the photo package on board ... check the terms very closely to see what photos are included ,but with that many people, i'm pretty sure the per picture cost could be very low ...

just a thought ...

There are many things onboard you can purchase for them and it can be a surprise.   We bought a celebration package for some friends once ...they sprinkled rose petals all over their bed, delivered chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne along with some casino credits.  It can certainly be tailored to their specific likes ... even something like the ultimate balcony dining (breakfast or dinner) and to your specific budget.  Scheduling and paying for a specialty dinner for them, maybe with a bottle of wine, is also a nice gesture that would probably cost you about $100.  There are fresh flowers onboard that could end up in their cabin, a photo package, spa treatments, goodies from the gift store ... again, all tailored to your budget and their likes.

Bon voyage!!

Your Father-in-Law being a travel agent makes giving him something cruise related problematic because he's probably been on lots of cruises and done all that stuff already.

I'd go with something totally out of the box with this one. Maybe something to do with his favorite hobby or sports team. Maybe get the group NFL football jerseys of his favourite team and you all could be a team for the cruise (Hopefully not the Dolphins - that would be as bad as giving him an Invicta watch).

If he's a Rum drinker, you could arrange a private tour of a distillery on one of the islands (assuming your are going to the caribbean) or a Tequila distillery in Mexico if he like Tequila.

You know your Father-in-Law, what would he appreciate?

How about giving him more grand children? (Just kidding  :classic_tongue:)  A warm, sincere 'Thank You' is probably enough.  After all his giving you the cruise is probably warming the cockles of his heart.  DW & I have friends who insist on giving a return gift whenever we get home from a vacation and have a small gift from our trip.  Sometimes, being gracious is knowing when to just say 'Thank you.'

When you return from your cruise, pick out your favorite photographs and put them together in a hardcover coffee table book.  The memories will live on forever.

I think that's a super idea.  One of our SILs turned 40 last year.  We gave him some cash to do something totally frivolous for himself.  And I put together a lot of photos of him and his wife (our daughter!) and kids and all manner of other things commemorating just him.
