Really,  I think I've seen March snow in Atlanta. I know I have in Virginia

We had a couple snowfalls in March.  We have had a couple warmer than usual days this month so it’s easier to open the pool now than to let it go green.  It will have to be an extended warm spell for me to turn the heater on though.

but you’d call that a blizzard, when we call it a dusting.

Snow tires are off of Lisa’s car and the Trackhawk goes in Thursday for summer tires to be put back on. Next week has a few colder temps, but the warmer weather is soon here to stay.

When we can all start driving again.

Cars are getting fuel ratings of weeks per gallon now.

Costco here is 66 cents a litre.

After calculations and exchange that would be $1.78 US per gallon.

I remember the news stories about that storm.  People sleeping in cars at Walmart etc. It is all a matter of perspective.

It’s a beautiful day here in MA!  Definitely short weather for some as it’s sunny and in the 60s!   I’ve taken all of my morning work calls walking up and down the street!

one observation is that we could probably start a neighborhood contest for best manicured land scape!  I’ve NEVER seen houses look this cleaned up - Nevermind the first week of April!!

it’s so much better when it’s nice out!

Temps are supposed to get up around 70 degrees F here in Indy on the lake! Sunny and beautiful day! Our house is at a dead end road so not much traffic. We live here full-time and all of our neighbors, except for 1 or 2, are "weekenders"; however, some have temporarily relocated here to the lake due to the virus. So glad that we are able to get outside and walk the dog to/from our mailbox (1-mile round trip)! Our happy hours are getting a bit longer these days! Cheers friends!

What WAS less than a buck a gallon has now doubled!

If you are referencing my pricing, it was by litre and in Canadian funds. I exchanged it to a price and volume for those south of my border so you would understand.

Now, if it has doubled where you are that’s crazy.

We brought the front porch chairs out on Saturday, and Lucy has rediscovered her favourite sleeping spot.

Please excuse the windows, we are still cleaning the inside of the house, before we get to the windows. We hope to have the house fully cleaned from top to bottom by Saturday.

Maybe time for more food porn?  The ribs were delicious.

I understood the conversion.

And it is crazy. It went from $.99 to $1.98 a gallon over night.

Well my wife works in Social services so she is working from home and has taken over the dining room.  She was quiet for a week or so but now the cases are coming in fast and furious.  She worked more than 12 hours today to keep up.

I am considered essential but  we are working a split shift and I am on the 230-1030PM shift.  When it is nice out I am doing yard work during the day then I am trying hard to stay awake until 10:30 at work.  There is not  much to do as most things that do not have to be done are all on hold.

They are supposed to  review the current schedule on April 30th but I get the feeling they are going to extend it thru May.  I am not sure I can last that long.  On days that are not that nice I will be making masks.  I found a pattern online and I just need to have some rainy days so I cannot do yard work.  We have some masks  I purchased a while ago as I tend to get sick on airplanes so I have been wearing a mask on most flights.

Where do you live? I don't know what the price is down here in FLL because Mike normally puts gas in the vehicles. If prices start rising we really need to gas the boat up. It can be expensive at the marina's. I don't even know if they're open. Anyone down here been to a marina lately like the one at 15th Street Fisheries?

They indeed look amazing. Lucky you.

Very difficult to find ribs here, only sometimes at specialized butchers.

We import almost all the beef meat, and pork is "officially" not allowed (due to "kosher" laws).

That is fully understandable. I’d have a hard time coping.

More BBQ food porn in a few days.

this is my first post with the revived app!! ....the little things are worth celebrating now!

Today we will start making Easter eggs...and the kids will dye them tomorrow when it will be raining ALL day!!!

Another dilemma we will face today - what to eat for Easter Sunday??! Sadly - I did not get ham at the grocery store last week and don’t really want to go back again so soon...

I always bake for the family for Easter.

This year with house arrest it  makes it a little difficult, with many family members not driving in due to social distancing.

But, I will make some small batches of treats.

Yesterday I  made some banana brownies. And they are excellent.

Today I am making the traditional Ohio BUCKEYES,  Much better than peanut butter eggs, and I hate peanut butter, so these will be consumed by the kids.

Now mind you I  make Nut Kolachi and mini nut keiffels.

The recipe requires real cakes Of RED STAR YEAST, (for you old bakers like me, you know what this is)

Well with the plaque it is hard to find.

But my mother always told me to plan ahead and in Early March Giant Eagle in town had the yeast in the refrigerator section with an expiration date of April 20th.  I bought 4 mini cakes, and to boot it was on sale.

So the hunky tradition lives on.

I did order some dry yeast on Amazon, but it is not the same (in my recipes)  and not supposed to be in till May 3.  (LOL it came last Sunday).

Guess people are stocking up on yeast too, in case bread hard to get or for making home made brew😲

Other than that, off to baking.

Stay Healthy.
