LOVE it!!!!  We have been making this cake for so many years, I can’t remember when it started.  My oldest son, who is 46, was a young little guy.  I remember using mult-colored chocolate chips that I bought in KMART to decorate it.

This was our first attempt don’t think it’s going to be the last.

It was actually pretty good.

Well the grandchildren definitely thought so.

You did a great job😉

For how long it took it wasn’t bad roll on next year.

At least I’ve had some practice now.

Don't think they’d have displayed it very prominently in the Windjammer though.

Still it’s the taster that counts.

I finally got around to getting this done today. It’s been sitting around since last fall.

The house is now fully clean.  The garage starts tomorrow, after Owen’s homeschooling. This will become garage wall art, to be hung with a gathering of other items, to which I have waited years to put up.

That’s a lot more fun and exciting than the 10 cubic yards of wood chips that awaits their placement around the pool in the week to come.

Good news for those of us in SC, as of Tuesday the beaches and stores are open, however there can only be 5 customers per 1,000 sq feet, bars, and restaurants are still closed.

And so it begins.  I hope this is the first of several steps to follow.

Are you in favor of some of the 'lessening of lockdown restrictions' now on the horizon after Passover/Easter timeframe?

Absolutely. Otherwise, our economy will go down the drain.

BUT, and that's a big one, I think that the lockdown should continue in cities where the percentage of the infected and sicks is very high -- [religious] orthodox cities who don't "do" social distancing.... and refuse to obey the "shelter at home" as the rest of us.

We have a couple of turkeys roaming the neighborhood.  Real fowl and not miserable people.  Have to get a pic to post.  Yesterday we gobbled together!   Just drank my pointsetta, that I had to make myself😳 I do miss having someone make my cocktail.

Can’t post pics of my refrigerator as it does not measure up to dani negreanu!!!!!

We brought the front porch chairs out on Saturday, and Lucy has rediscovered her favourite sleeping spot.

Please excuse the windows, we are still cleaning the inside of the house, before we get to the windows. We hope to have the house fully cleaned from top to bottom by Saturday.

Maybe time for more food porn?  The ribs were delicious.

Good to see Lucy again! Yep, window washing-on our “to do” list too.

Another fun day in the Philippines.  Went to the barangay captain and got our passes to allow us to do banking and buy food and medicine in the provincial capital of Vigan.

When we got to Vigan we were told that only one member from each household can enter the city, so I had to get out of our van while my wife and nephew entered to go shopping.  I hung around for about 30 minutes gradually moving up the road towards the city.  My last obstacle was another polis (police) tent with a guy taking the temperature of everyone entering Vigan.  They brought out a new temperature guy and I stepped into the street and got behind 5 people riding bicycles into the city.  The guy wanted to see my pass and then he asked me why a was going to Vigan  "Food" was all I said and he let me in.  3 block walk got me to 2 Brothers store where I turned $100 US into 5,055 pesos and went to Jollibee fast food, ordered a yum burger and fries for 75 pesos ($1.50) and waited outside for 15 minutes.  It was mostly burger, not much yum.  Walked back to the entrance and found a shade spot at the end of the bridge across the river.  A lite breeze was coming from the river, good to have in 94F bright sunshine.  Half an hour later our van returned to pick me up loaded with 500 kg of rice for our barangay.  Only 42 more days of this.

More snow today, then sun, then snow. No real accumulation thankfully. I hate this time of spring.

Lucy has been liking the somewhat warmer weather. Our neighbours sent us this pic, when she stopped for a visit at their house last week.

I think she’s starting to feel like us with quarantine.
