It was a mixed bag for weather today. Lots of clouds & looked like rain for much of the day. Sunny and beautiful now, so time to enjoy a margarita on the deck before some grilled burgers.

Thanks, HomeGoods - where else?!
Andy has been busy with mulch this week too. I’ve lost count of how many bags. We usually order it by the yard from our local garden center but this year he didn’t want the big dump truck backing onto his previous new driveway 🤪

Weather has improved since my post earlier.   Very happy its not raining.  Sun shining temp is 78 and we got a bunch of yard work done.    Mulch out front and one side of house is done.   Will pick up another 14 or 15 large bags this week for the other side and back patio, etc.

What kind of mulch do you put out every year? We put out bark mulch, but only replace/replenish it about every three years?

Love HomeGoods!!

We usually do 30ish bags of mulch.   Last year we had delivery by the yard and it seems like a never ending mound.   Back to the bags this year.   We find it easier to just plop bags down where they are going and do when we can vs wheelbarrow, shoveling, etc.

Lots of words about mulch, need the guy version😁

This year we are using Scott's Earthgrow in Black from Home Depot.   I usually rake last year's mulch, pull any weeds then sprinkle Preen depending on type of plants in that area then apply about 1" or so of new mulch.

I didn’t surf after all today… We had a storm blow in before lunch.  The waves for about 15 minutes were almost as big as the ones in the Atlantic, causing spray to go over the top of the crown Viking lounge.

I barely got the boat cover washed and re-covered before the storm hit.  I am exhausted, we cleaned out the lower bedroom at the lake house, as it has been a holding area since brother died a few years ago.  His wife, my SIL may be mad at me when she realizes we threw alway so much junk they had kept.  I think she has been to the lake house 2 times in the last 3 years for short not overnight visit.  Sigh.

Oh. It's really fine. No wonder it breaks down. But I bet it looks nice and easier to rake I don't think they sell Preen or Amaze here anymore. We like the chunk/chip mulch. It is interesting how landscape trends vary in different parts of the US.  We have to use bags because there is no other way to get it up the stairs on the hill. (Hence, 3 years :classic_biggrin:)

And we use rubber mulch in this awkward little strip at the top of the hill. Because we don't want to ever replace it. :classic_biggrin:

Back into routine trying to get fit(ter) for our next cruise.  I never really started back at the gym after getting covid in Feb so I'm hoping to motivate myself into going again. Not easy as I'm not a natural gym bunny 🤣

Back on our vegetarian diet and stopped the booze for the next four weeks ( well apart from Hubby's birthday later this week !!)

Oops and we're visiting friends at the weekend. Socialising getting in the way.

Fingers crossed we get some results 🙏

Just off to find a 'healthy' recipe for chocolate cake for Gary's birthday 😬

Happy Birthday for Gary’s birthday this week.  I haven’t made it myself but chocolate cake with beetroot?

well, technically it was about 10 minutes after sunrise, since I slept in.

@HBE4congradulations to your Rangers.  Great comeback in the series.  I am glad I missed the game and only saw the final score.  Nothing like an OT win in a game 7.

Good luck in round 2.

Beautiful photos!

Did anyone happen to see or get pictures of the moon last night?    I fell asleep around 1030 and missed the event.

I think it was you that is currently in one the ***29 CP balconies.   I'm looking at a future cruise and thinking about trying one these cabins.   Is the cabin more like a square than rectangular?    Do you get sun for lounger on balcony?   How is noise?
