I’ve been kind of poking around, looking for a fall cruise. I mentioned we are taking the two oldest grandsons on a road trip to Disney & Ft Lauderdale in August, then dropping them off to their other grandparents in Amelia Island. We should be home from that trip in 8/25.  Now our middle DD has asked us to join them on trip 9/4-9/10 in, where else - Disney. We’ll be flying for that one, but I think we’ll need a vacation from our vacations lol.
Anyway, I found a pretty interesting one departing Boston 10/30 to San Juan, repositioning on Voyager.  Stops are Perfect Day, DR & St Thomas.  I think I’ll be contacting you know who for a quote so I can make my presentation to Andy.

I’m so sorry to read this.

I’d like to think that she will be met by our Allie and they will be playing together free of their pain.  It doesn’t help those left behind.  I can only hope the love from us here will help to ease some of your grief.

Andrew, this gives me great comfort.  What a beautiful picture of Allie reaching out and taking Genevieve by the hand.  Thank you. ❤️

We had the ceremony at a lovely church in Manly, then drove around in vintage white jaguars to Taronga Zoo Wharf and boarded a private charter vessel for our wedding reception.  We had a beautiful day.

What a beautiful way to celebrate your special day!!

I am home. 🙂 I am improving, no more fever, still coughing but inhaler helping. Hope to eventually get my taste and smell back though. Thanks for asking.  🙂

So glad to hear that you are now home;  nothing like sleeping in your own home when sick.  I sure hope you get your taste and smell back soon!

Well, I had been enjoying my time in California until last night.  Felt great all day, and we logged over 21,000 steps.  I spent the morning doing some home repairs for my son, while he is in Europe on business.

Gas prices were jumping.  This was the price when I went to Home Depot

And all grades were up 10 cents later in the day.

We walked over to a fire prevention festival, which was pretty small.  They did have a few booths, and explanations on how they use goats for vegetation control, along with some goats for kids to see.

So now, for my not feeling great part. I started with a low temperature and a cough.  It is too late for post cruise symptoms, and I suspect I picked up a bug at grandparents day at the school last Tuesday.  I think that, because granddaughter back in PA came down with the same symptoms last night.

So far, the tests show this, but I will probably take another later today.

Meanwhile, I am avoiding everyone else.

Apparently, my dear friend is having some work done on her house. When finished it had better be painted white or she will find out just how opposed to change her snooty neighbors can be.

I am still showing positive and DH has now joined me. 🙁. Mine is fading though.

Bummer  How many days has it been?  I'm trying to hold off on testing myself until Tuesday.  I guess after a certain period since you are no longer contagious they say you don't even really have to test.  That said if I am still positive I will go get a PCR at Walgreens in case I need to start looking into getting one of those certificate of recovery forms.  I'm getting paranoid now

You could hardly see the line when I self tested before I got the official cruise test which I obviously flunked

He certainly took his time ...😢 Hopefully, it will be a quick and unmemorable "episode".

It was inevitable he was going to get it between all the cases on the ship, me sick, and coming home to our son sick.  Who knows who it actually made him sick.  So far, he is just runny nose.

I tested negative on May 20th but positive on May 21st, both with home tests.  I went to medical and they did a PCR to confirm my test.  That was positive for covid but negative for influenza a, influenza b and for RSV.  I was supposed to get my results and other information from guest services the morning we disembarked but got nothing.  Luckily, we had been in contact with the suite concierge and he said he would get it for us if it wasn't sent to me.  KK got my results and a letter for my refund for my isolation time.  He also escorted my DH off the ship with all of our luggage all the way to elevator.  I am just trying to understand whether or not I need to start counting from day 0 again before I can see my Mom.  I still have symptoms so hadn't planned on going anytime soon, but I just want to get a better idea.  I would get a PCR if I were you since you need ten days after that test.

I'm no expert but football is close to a religion for an awful lot of people world wide, especially in Europe.

The Champtions League is the top four teams in each country's league in Europe play a knockout until the final. So in theory the final is between the two top teams in Europe

UEFA Champions League https://g.co/kgs/99y7MZ

When my youngest daughter was in college in the UK she became friends with a guy who played for a professional team and became a huge fan of the sport.

Stopped at the beach on my bike ride. For the next three months we get to share our beached with tourist and day trippers. This is last evening's beach today.

There is only one street in my town that goes north and south .Very little traffic most of the year but in the summer it tends to get very congested with the tourists and people from other towns taking the street to the beautiful beach in the area.

On this Memorial Day weekend. I cannot but pay deepest respect and homage to those who defended and protected all in arms way.  It does not matter when it occurred but it does matter that they cared.

Bringing it closer to home. I just returned from placing wreaths on the family graves.  Especially paying tribute to my father.  I got a little teary eyed.

Growing up my dad used to take me and all the wreaths on Memorial Weekend and place them and me into his 1950s Mercury and off we went to the cemetery

As I grew older and the yearly event continued I asked my dad how he liked the war.

The story I got. Humbled me.

My dad dropped out of high school to help provide for the family when his dad got sick.
The one thing good that came out of it was his mom let him take in a puppy as his own.
He trained his dog.  And my dad worked steady  3-11 at republic steel in Youngstown.
My dad did not have a car then and would walk the old rail road tracks home and his dog would race down the tracks to meet him.

Then he got drafted.
Served his country. And when his tour was done arrived on a grey hound bus after midnight in downtown Youngstown.

Once again he walked home and as he approached the rail road tracks he was hoping to see his dog.  But. He was not there.

Upon arriving home he walked to the back door which was always kept open and there was his buddy. After many moments of licks and rubs he knew he was home.

He fell asleep on the living room floor and his mom happily found them  in the morning.

In his moms broken English/polish she told him that his dog for months went to the rail road tracks at nighttime and waited for him.  He just stopped going a few weeks  back and his mom thought the dog knew something terrible had happened.

I guess the dog just got depressed in his own way.

So that is why I continue the tradition of taking wreaths to honor now my dad like he honored his.

I miss my dad. But I’ll treasure his wisdom.

May they all Rest In Peace.

Oh no. Sorry to hear you are still positive. I didnt realize it faded on the test. I cant find mine or I would have tested. For the first time I'm not feeling positive that I didnt catch anything. Mal de mer and tired, but idk ...ordered tests for next time.

I considered posting a live thread about grandeur but imo you arent allowed to complain. Its specific to that ship doubling or more capacity over night. Yes I knew before I boarded. People just tell you its everywhere, it's not worse, yadda yadda.

Lol now I managed to get attacked for saying I felt bad for those who got suddenly cancelled on conquest. Someone already in orlando, another half way when the email came. First i got attacked saying carnival did the right thing. I didnt say they didnt. Why attack me for that? Finally I said I'm allowed to feel sorry for those who had their cruises cancelled last  minute... now I'm being called entitled. Everyone is so full of praise, conquest went to pick up freedom pax .. and conquest pax so sorry, too bad, your fault for  ot having insurance. Empathy is not allowed by the loyal.

I'm glad now I didn't bother with a live thread since I wasnt 100% positive experiences on grandeur.

Now I'm a bit apprehensive about radiance. Hopefully it's enough bigger. I decided for me I want a big enough ship that I can get fresh hot pizza, not sitting under lights. I want a sorrentos.

Glad to be home. Working on form 706 still from my dads death. We hit some top notch lawyer who says it might cost over 10k ... 2 days to sign the letter of engagement. First was in a format I couldnt figure out how to send. Yesterday they did docusign. The fact that you have to even sign this letter of engaging them and 5 pages about prices .. we are like ok just let's get this form done. Yesterday mom signed. I erased about 20 times. Suggested she cut her nail so she could use the tip of her finger. It wasnt legible.

I'm home I guess until this gets done. She will try by august. Will send me a email with what else she needs for irs. Good thing I'm burnt out on cruising. Feeling more like myself today. Came home tired. Carnival is back to trying to lure me to alaska almost free or even London. Makes me worry carnival is in trouble at the prices they are offering.

Wow you will become close personal friends with Mickey and Minnie😃

The 10.30 cruise sounds perfect.  Maybe turn into a b2b and become Diamond😘

Do you get a lot of people parking on your street for day trips to the beach?

Parking on our street at the shore house is always an issue.   We can sit on our upper deck and watch people change clothes in their cars😁

That's kilometers(103) right? about 64 mph?  what's the 7, a tachometer?

You are correct. This car has 5 modes being normal, sport, track, drag and wet. In each mode there is also numerous changes that can be made within. They are only available in automatics but they do have paddle shifting for a manual mode.

It has 760HP and redlines at 7,500 rpm.

You are welcome. I always try to see a positive, even in the hardest and darkest of times. I think if I did not, I would have lost it long ago. That’s how we got through our difficult times. Hugs to you and your household from ours.
