We watched The Gray Man last night on Netflix.  It's a pretty predictable mix of Jason Bourne (highly skilled assassin getting home against all odds) and John Wick (killing many people at once) and had some good action scenes.  It has a good cast with Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Billy Bob Thornton, Ana de Armas, and more.  It was interesting to watch Chris Evans play the bad guy when I'm so used to seeing him as Captain America.  It was also interesting to see Julia Butters who is now 13 years old.  She played Anna-Kat on the sitcom American Housewife.  Loved her delivery as a 7-11 year-old over 4 seasons on that show.  She's like Millie Bobby Brown in that I think she will grow up to be a very successful adult actor.

We liked it...worth spending 2 hours if you like that sort of movie.

Thanks for the suggestion, fun action movie. Chris Evens definitely was a extremely evil villain in this movie.

it has made our lives so much easier! we got it last year and are so glad we did!  also the mobile passport app is very handy

Being from Canada I have Nexus which is pre-approved entry into the US.  It also gives me TSA pre when I am returning to Canada from a US airport. Having this had made airport travel SO much easier!

Grand dad and great g d came from cricket 🏏  families. So lots of interesting stories passed on when I was a child. I have held on to the memories. I was never interested in the game.

DH brought up in Canada didn't understand cricket. When we were first married my dad took him to a test match and tried to explain the rules but he never really 'got' it.

Neither of my kids play or follow cricket, but are massively into football

Football (Soccer) is my favourite sport and I captained my school team but I played rugby 🏉 at senior school too.

There are different rules between Rugby league (Professional) and Rugby 🏉 union (historically amateurs but more professional since 1995) and different team numbers.

15 in each team in Rugby union.

13 in each team for rugby league.

It is a very physical game and several former players are currently suffering different degrees of Dementia.

Talking about sport, what about our Lionesss's getting to Euro 2022 final last night

Yesterday we had our longest day out yet on the River. We are quite new to river boating and have only done short trips to Windsor before. Yesterday we went in the other direction and made it as far as Marlow before making our way back to our Marina. 3.5 hours each way going through four locks in each direction. Stopped on the way for coffee and had lunch in Marlow.  Good experience, especially in going through locks.

On the way we passed Cliveden which use to be owned by the Astor family and was the scene of our biggest political scandal in the 60s, The Profumo Affair. Its now owned by the National Trust but the house is now a hotel and is where Megan, Duchess of Sussex stayed before her wedding to Harry.

It was quite cloudy but got some sun in the afternoon

Currently it is 54°F at 07.37am with a high now forecast for 70°F later today.

I hope everyone is well and have a fantastic day.

Graham.

Thank you.  Hope you both have a Fantastic Day too😀

We have cooled off here a little.  Expect high of 88f but still have high humidity around 80%.

Same here.  It also is exceptionally great while driving over the border. 40 minute waits for those without and 2 minutes for those with Nexus.

I'm always surprised at how much French I can figure out from reading, considering I haven't studied or used it since 1987.

I know bits and pieces of french...words and sayings.  Not enough to actually converse, but enough to survive in France.  I've been told that my accent is good.  I was on a train platform by myself in Blois, France when a man approached me and said something.  I didn't understand and said, "Je ne parle pas francais"...meaning I don't speak french.  He gave me a really strange look for a few seconds and then walked away.  I later realized that it would be like me asking a question to a stranger in the US in a part of the country where there isn't a lot of foreign tourism, only to have that person say I don't speak English with a perfect american accent.

Lol. I am still not understanding the technicalities of it and still wonder.

I’m about to start. I’ll update my signature in a little while so you can see what we have booked.

I'm on the first half of your October TP.  We get off in Hawaii.  If you see a guy wearing some sort of Buffalo Bills gear, say hello.

@Sea Dog

I've found the perfect cruise for you, cruising and visiting whisky distilleries

https://www.newscientist.com/tours/whisky-tour-cruise-scotland/

That looks like a really interesting cruise...especially the 20 person schooner that they'll use.  I really want to try something that small that goes to very unique ports, like a whisky distillery.

Pretty easy really.

There are 3 stumps(wicket) either end separated by 22 yards.

Bowler bowls a ball the batsman hits it.

If the ball goes over the boundary rope it is 4 runs.

If the ball goes over the boundary without touching the ground it is 6 runs.

The batsman can run between the wickets for 1,2 or 3 runs until the ball is returned to the bowler or wicket keeper.

There are 11 players on each side and the winner is the one with the most runs.

Limited over T20 (20 overs)or 40 overs per side matches

are more exciting because the batsmen are looking to score on every ball bowled.

There are 6 bowls per over.

Players are out if the bowler hits the batsman's wicket or a fielder catches a batsmens hit.

If a ball hits the batsman's pads in front of the wicket without hitting the batsman's bat first he is out.
