Congratulations! What an honor and a great way to close out your career.

Thank you so much. I think so too. I'm ready to be retired.

Sure, I would check it out.   Maybe they could get a couple more Below Deck crew to be on that sailing - that would be fun to meet them.

That would be a money maker.

I thought Ben was done with working on yachts.

I think he is doing this mainly for the cash. They have to be paying him big bucks to come and do a charter on a cruise ship. I'm sure he will be laughing all the way to the bank.

After you posted the other day about the TB Survivor shorts I bought a pair for Mike. He loves them.

I'm so happy Mike likes them. I knew he would. I have tried many cargo shorts over the years and the TB are the most comfortable and long lasting shorts I've ever had. They are made tough.

@Sea Dog. Congratulations!!!  What a great honor, and a nice way to go out the door.

Working with a group that feels like family always makes work more enjoyable.

It doesn't happen very often but some of my coworkers I've known and worked with for over 20 years. Thank you for the kind words.

Congratulations Greg, what a great honor.  Hopefully you win both so the two new statues can keep your other two company. 🥳

I agree. Statues do get kind of lonely don't they. Thank you!

Have you ever heard of a former Israeli singer who was very well known there in the 1970’s:

Gadi Elon ?

I was a big fan in the 80's of Israeli singer Ophra Haza.

ended up doing over 20 miles today.

That's awesome good for you. I did our elliptical for 45 minutes while watching "Deadliest Catch." Did not get the heart rate up that much but at least burned a few calories.

@Sea Dog  🎉 Congratulations on your two nominations! What a fabulous way to end a career.

Is this virtual event something anyone can watch?

I am way behind on reading this thread.  Just returned home from two weeks on Serenade OTS and playing catch up, but my "notifications" had so many people congratulating you, I had to jump into the middle to see what was going on.

As for retirement....best "job" I've ever had. 😂

Sorry, no.

The 1970's were very hard years for me -- new immigrant, struggling to learn a different language from what I've known before, finishing HS with enough grades to be accepted at the University, while doing my army service, war of attrition, Yom Kippur war -- in sum, no much time left to listen to music...

Different times, so, yes, she was amazing. Pity she died so young from AIDS.

Are you all ready to go to Seattle with me before we sail to Alaska on Ovation OTS?

Ladies & Gentlemen, prepare for landing.

Ready to go explore and get some lunch?    To walk to Pike’s Place Market from the hotel is very doable, only a mile so let’s walk.  On the way, there’s the Space Needle.  We won’t stop as we’ll come back later.  Let’s keep walking.FF38F647-E55A-46E0-899E-94633D8BAB48.thumb.jpeg.941ac1af7681cea5cad51de646c1705c.jpeg

Oh, look.  A poke place.  There’s a long line so it must be good.  Let’s try that and miso soup.

So good.  No wonder the long lines and all the online orders.  Let’s continue on and walk it off.

Seafood looks so fresh here.  It is a fun place to watch fish throwing. If someone buys a whole salmon, the guy will throw the salmon to the guy behind the counter to catch it and they’ll throw it back and forth to each other several times without dropping it.  Gets quite a big crowd around there.

Exactly!    I think she is "old school" where they used to tell people to get them removed before you had a problem.    About 3 years ago I had an incident with a popcorn kernel that somehow got wedged under soft tissue of the very last tooth and had a minor infection (right before my trip to London).    Every since that happened she gives me grief that I should get all of them pulled.

I am due for a cleaning and thinking of trying another dentist to get their opinion.

When you see her next why don't you ask her if she should remove all of your teeth in order to avoid any future problems. You won't have to worry about cavities, broken teeth, or cleanings. It is absurd to remove healthy organs from the body.... in my opinion.

When we did our Pacific Coastal Cruise, we had a stop in Seattle. We bought a huge bouquet of flowers from Pikes Market and took them on the ship. The flowers lasted like 7 days until we got off the ship in Vancouver. They are so beautiful and fresh it's amazing.

Then we had to hunt down a vase on the ship. That was an exciting adventure obtaining one. 🙂
