Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

QUESTION???
I got my statement emailed to me from Royal of our charges but it is only one page and is a hodge podge of dates. Is there a way to get the complete statement like I could see in my app? Is there someone at Royal I could email to get the full statement?

Wow Ken!  So glad it didn't turn out worse for Vikki.  Having recovered from five toe fractures in my right foot in 2020, I can vouch for how painful it can be.  I was also lucky to have avoided surgery.  Sounds she will be good to go by your December cruise!

Wow, that is quite the feat...5 fractures...ouch!

Good news is this is not my ankle.  Bad news is it's Vikki's.  We were at her brothers new house a couple hours away for dinner and I had left to come home and let Merlin out when my daughter let me know that this happened.  With so many cars in the driveway Vikki went to get something out of her car and stepped off the edge of the driveway into a ditch.

Her brother took her to the hospital and apparently it's broken and dislocated.  They were only there 45 minutes and apparently they are now on their way home (to her parents place that's close to her brothers).  Just waiting to find out the full extent of her injury and what the treatment plan is.  Looks like she will be off work for at least the next little while.

OUCH!   That looks very painful.  Glad they were able to pop back in place and not have to do surgery.    Hope she is feeling better today.

OK…I am 15 pages behind, but catching up.  But this just makes me mad.  I’m in Calif. and most stations are at $5.59🙀

I’m using that as my justification to be on another cruise😹.  Currently in Vancouver and boarding Serenade OTS tomorrow.

Stay well, and back to catching up.

Hope you have a great sailing on Serenade.   She is our favorite ship.

Hopefully this will be the last update for tonight.

Literally in less than 10 minutes since I talked to Vikki things changed again and she's on her way back to her parents place.

The CT scan came back.  What they initially thought was bone protrusion was nothing more than cuts and scrapes from her fall.  Sending her home and told her to see the fracture clinic at home on Monday.  No major break and no surgery required....good news.

I think it is wise you are getting a second opinion at the Orthopedic, with that hospital going ever which way with a diagnosis I would be very leery with whatever they say.

Might be a reason why that hospital isn't very busy.

Hope everything turns out okay. Very surprised they pulled on it first without seeing a  cat scan first. But may have read that wrong when what took place first.

Wow..that looks so painful!  Poor Vikki.

I saw pictures of Halifax and the damages..especially the homes that were washed out to sea. God help these people..

Oh no, that is horrible to hear about Nova Scotia.  I have not read or watched the news.   God bless them🙏

I’m glad she got taken care of so quickly.
No 6 hour wait to be seen.

My mum always made proper Cornish Pasties every Saturday when we were kids. When my kids were at uni she would make batches for them to take back and freeze

Growing up, we used to take Cornish pasties on picnics, to the beach, and on day trips in the car.
When I was first married, 61 years ago, I decided to make Cornish pasties for my half British husband.

They were a disaster. What I made was an almost hollow casing with a slice of onion, some slices of potato, and a hit of ground beef slightly larger than a marble rattling around inside.

The beef must have been 75% fat to shrink like that.
I never tried again. So much effort, so little reward!

This is what I got. I thought it would have all my transactions. I wanted to count up how many drinks we had. It helps for determining value. I did not want to take a bunch of screenshots of the account through the app or on the stateroom tv. I thought the email attachment would have everything.

Ah! When I was in Canberra, we were told how it was decided to make Canberra the capital.

Then there was a competition to choose the architect to design the government buildings.
A Chicago architect, Walter Burley Griffin was chosen.
Canberra was lovely, with blooming wattle trees blooming along the road in front of the embassies.
I loved the Australian War Museum, and spent a very long time looking at the Gallipoli exhibit.
35 year old memories, so correct any of them that have evolved in my mind over the years!

Yeah, definitely good that she is going to a specialist clinic tomorrow.  She's been there before when they diagnosed her with stress fractures years ago.

That was definitely a plus.  Last time I went was for kidney stones and they kept me waiting over 5 hours until they even let me into the ER and then it was more of a wait to see a Dr.  Crazy, especially since I was in for the same thing a week prior.

Unfortunately they remove all of the zero charges and there is no way (that I know of) to get the full statement that you see on the app.  Even when they print them on the ship they only show actual charges.

The hospital 4 miles away has a miserable ER. I once left after 5 hours on a gurney against the wall by the door where Rescue brought people in. I had to sign an AMA form and then walk to the restroom in a hospital gown and carrying the bag with my street clothes. I mooned an awful lot of people.

All of my doctors are attached to that hospital, and luckily, if you actually get admitted, the care is very good.

More misinformation he only played in 9 games during Mantle’s time all in 1967 and at that time Mickey was playing first base.

Frank told me that he played for the Yankees in parts of 1967 to 1972 and he was in the outfield with Mantle.

What else do you believe that I posted that was not correct ?
