Well after careful deliberation and seen a price drop, I just now booked and paid for the 9 day Coral cruise on 13 Sept. Cancelled my Westerdam one scheduled for Nov and got my refund in 4 days.

Got my insurance with 1 cover after a load of assessment questions.

Got my cabin number, balcony - mid Forward Cat B2.

Now I have to sort out a glitch with medallion did it on web but ticked all boxes except personal info, still in blue lane.

Good on you,  I'm sure you will love the Coral. Nothing like a cruise to lift your spirits.

Thanks, been on Coral twice before a few years ago, Inside Passage - Alaska and also Panama Canal. Yes I like the shop. At least they did not wreck her like they did with sister ship Island, put extra cabins in, losing after viewing areas, chopping the walk around prom deck and losing Universe lounge which had a revolving stage.

Universe lounge was very underutilised when we were on Coral, mostly just the bingo lounge - the only thing revolving was the balls in the machine. Nice space, I just wish it had more purpose.

I notice you are at 480 days, so you would be a bit of a chance of a bottle of ship champagne. Do you get life membership at 500?

Didn't they have the On the Bayou show on your cruise? That uses the revolving stage to good effect.

Princess bubbly, Korbel, worth about $2, lol.  Made the MTP lunch twice in recent years. When we were on Coral some years ago, Alaska and Panama Canal there were a lot of shows in the Universe Lounge, yes it was also the Bingo joint.  No life membership at 500 days lol. Some yanks have a couple of thousand days on Princess. The Aussie couple on it now doing about 10 B2B's probably have that.

This one on 13th Sept will be a test for me, see how it goes cruising solo, bit nervous about it actually.

Can't remember. 3 nighter, there were things we didn't have. I would have to check the Patters, but if it was, we didn't go.

They're probably handing out the Willowglen bubbly these days.

That couple are doing more than 10 B2Bs, they're doing about two years worth including 2 world cruises.

Just remember you've got friends on that cruise and we're there for you if you need us.

You'll be fine, I'm not an outgoing person by nature but I always make a point of talking to people who are on their own and there will be a lot of others who do the same. Forget the medallion app (actually click into all the different headings to make sure you've completed everything humanly possible, then forget about it), have a good night's sleep and look forward to the cruising life with plenty of CC people aboard that you already know  😊

We just had motor city on our 5 dryer, the only cruise staff show, we didn't attend though.

A few years ago we cruised with Seabourn.  Aboard with us was Mrs Whiskey (or very similar name).  She had lived aboard Seabourn for ten years, moving at whim from vessel to vessel.  Every evening, two officers would escort her to her window table and remain with her for dinner. She would greet everyone nearby as she moved to her table, and again when she left.  She visited the hair salon every morning, and always looked gorgeous.  She really was very sweet. We were told her family owned most of the funeral homes in the US, and she thought Seabourn preferable to any God’s waiting room in the States.  She’d clocked up close to 4,000 days then, but would have moved to the big cruise ship by now, I think.

Are you sailing at the moment, Mike?  Happy voyage to you both if you are🥂

Just back but go again in 10 days time.

It's close to two weeks now since we arrived in South of France. We are not touring but instead enjoying the life style of this unique, to us, area. The weather has been fine, warm to hot but since we arrived we have felt things are starting to cool off.

We are in a rural area and our friends house, where we are staying, was once part of a tobacco farm. It started as a two room house and has grown and also merged with a tobacco "hanger" (a barn like structure used for drying tobacco leaf). Since our friends bought it 20+ years ago they have added to it and it is now a substantial three three level building with seven bedrooms and three bathrooms, a pool, gardens and has a huge carport which would cover my house back home. It was once a "hanger" but now has only three walls and a small workshop. It is built mostly of oak.

Since arriving we have not eaten any meals indoors. We have breakfast and lunch in a small, covered, courtyard and dinners on an outside terrace, usually between 8 and 9pm when it is still light. Very relaxed and laid back.

We have had some dinners at outdoor community events. Usually in a community space where there are food concessions and we et at trestle table and on long forms for seating. There is also music entertainment included. Last night at one venue, a picturesque spot by the Garonne canal, we were entertained by a fabulous duet - Miss A and the Country Man- playing country rock and blues.
