With not the slightest indications of anything opening up in the country entertaining the   likes of  2000-5500 people in one place for 7 days , some people are still  40% picking August 2020, just 70 days from now.............Amazing!

Once they start back up I wonder how they'll decide which cruises to cancel and which ships will be retired. Cruise reservations are going to be screwed up for the foreseeable future. I doubt anybody’s reservation is guaranteed until maybe 2022. I’m not saying they won’t cruise before then, just that they’ll be jockeying things around until then.

I expect some limited sailings out of Florida in September.

I also expect to cancel or shift the rest of our bookings up to April of 2021

That would also be my guess.  Like you, we will be cancelling (if not cancelled by the line) September, October, November, December and January (5 sailings TransPacific, Asia, Europe, Atlantic crossing, South America).

By Celebrity Reflection crossing in April 2021 final payment time should have a much clearer picture (how lines are handling things onboard, was there a second wave, possible progress toward vaccine, etc.)

Different here in Southern California. Parks and beaches packed on weekends.  Went to Walmart yesterday and masks are no longer required, lots of restaurants open for take out and some are saying open to the public this weekend.  Went to the credit union in a strip mall and a barber shop and a hair salon were open.  Our Riverside county Sheriff announced last week they would not enforce any covid  19 lock down orders.  86 year old MIL and her group of friends who live in Las Vegas are counting the days until Red Rock Casino opens up the Buffets and restarts the local  resident giveaways. Two of the big Indian Casinos in San Diego opened yesterday and lines were around the buildings. Here where I live one of the biggest Indian Casinos in the country, Pechanga with 5500 employees, is opening June 1st.  If they were to open the Windjammer as usual it would be packed..

that’s all well and good, but if they open up cruising like that and get 1 case of covid, it’s all but over for them. Just about everyplace that has opened up has seen spikes in their numbers. This may be because of increased testing, but if you get a spike like that on a cruise ship, you might as well put a spike thru the hull of the ship and sink it.

Its really hard to tell at the moment. There many obstacles on its way to start cruising soon. I mean, if the limitations by the major countries will be lay down, maybe this summer it will have a chance to cruise (August most likely). Otherwise, we will have to wait till May of 2021

Disney whatever it called makes you sign a waiver to go in, florida. I'd expect over 1000 a night. You have to sign you wouldnt hold them responsible...,

If the islands aren’t going to reopen I can’t imagine ships will sail.

I know BVI isn’t opening for a long while and not sure other island are either.

I think the islands are going to pay attention to what’s going on in the states and how the virus goes .
the islands will open for resorts before cruise ships

Disney does NOT make you sign any kind of a waver.  There is a notice at the entrance of Disney Springs, but there is no requirement to sign anything.

People seem to forget that just 60 days ago, our lockdowns were JUST beginning. Look how much has changed in just 60 days!  Things may feel like they are crawling, but when you look back we are actually moving quite fast.  Lots will change between now and August.

A year from now and Covid 19 will just be racked up as another Noro or Flu outbreak.  You would be very foolish to think Covid 19, or 20, or 21will not be around forever.  Who estimates 650,000 a year die from the Flu. And the guidelines for the flu are.. get a shot if you want.. and most do not..  The red pill should be mandatory.

I never realized how many virologists and public health experts cruise and comment on this site.

We're waiting for a treatment and a vaccine before we cruise again. We also want to see what life on a ship will be like.

This reminds me of the movie "Jaws" where everybody got back in the water on Amity Island for July 4th just because the Mayor told them they had caught a big shark. People will believe what they want to hear.

Bottom line, there are people who don't understand numbers, math and science.

Right now the cruise lines are in the process of returning crew to their home countries.

A lot of their countries are not letting them back in. So who's going to man the ships?

When will cruises restart? When people are dumb enough to go.
