I'll speculate that when cruising starts up again.    The specialty "gift" you have gotten, in the past, probably, won't be common with all the new qualifiers.     You likely were also sailing on the same ship?      It is not a common exception otherwise.       Most often,  it's going to be in main dining room.

I've tried and tried to understand what this means, but can't make it out.

I enjoy many of the perks for Platinum Plus such as the free dinners, shore excursion credit and free internet minutes but they certainly aren't a deal breaker for me.  However, I definitely feel very dissatisfied with NCL when they dilute and/or take away perks that were given in the past.

I don't really care if they want to offer upcharge perks if cruisers wish to buy them, but don't take away or start charging us for the perks we've already been given.

I am PP, do not have a FCC in place for a cruise, and currently do not have a NCL cruise booked.

That said, I like their Latitudes program. I like the dinners, the wifi, the laundry, priority embark/disembark. No interest in the other things really. I am also higher levels on RCCL, Princess and HAL. None of them give any where near the level of perks that I would use or want.

Some of them are quite ridiculous in thinking that what they offer is a perk.

I am also not interested in receiving an award at a party because I am blessed enough to be able to cruise as much as I want, it is not a personal accomplishment. I get embarrassed for those that believe that.  JMHO.

I did receive the survey and once I got to the part about annual membership and payment I closed it, would never pay for it.

Stay safe all.

No surveys for us, both Platinum Plus.

We enjoy "Dining with Officers"; have only even been in the MDR.

Personally I think the Point requirements need to be spread, too easy to get to Platinum and the Platinum Plus and then too hard to get to Ambassador.   Move P & P+ up but improve what you get for getting there.

Latitudes should be a REWARD for loyalty not a way of being offered extras

I'm at the gold level. Not much there for perks, but didn't see a lot of perks in higher levels that I would purposely only sail NCL to get. We have cruised about once or twice a year for more than 25 years. NCL, HAL, Princess, Celebrity, Royal, Costa and recently MSC. Not once did we book a cruise based on loyalty program. We book for itinerary, ports, (occasionally ship) and price. Not sure what they are thinking would be valuable enough to add a charge to the program, but I can pay for the individual things I want rather than pay a yearly fee to increase my status. I still have a hard time paying for specialty dining, why pay for a dinner when food is already included in my base price. I know it's better, but the fees they say are minimal are more than we usually pay when we go out for dinner on land. I know I'm not the customer they want or make money from. We generally have little on our bill but gratuities, and one time when we had OBC we had to go to the gift shop to spend it on the last day.

I wonder if this survey went to cruisers who rebooked with FCC and are considered "loyal" as opposed to us others who requested a full refund?

I didn't rebook with FCC or request a full refund. Most likely just sent out to random people. I received survey and responded that I wouldn't pay to receive any extra's.

Frankly-   there is no need to give any priority for Ambassador.  It amounts to 40 extra internet minutes/cruise 🙂        Just from this list-  my point of,   multiple thousands of Platinum Pluses.    Not real difficult to obtain.     The perks come at a "cost".    That sparkling wine,   could be a money saver with discontinuing.  🙂       As I mentioned-   on some ships,  that are loaded with Platinum and above-   it's going to be difficult/impossible-  accommodating the dinner coupons.

What types of extras were they asking people to pay more for?

Frankly I found the  survey  to be confusing so can't

even give a complete or correct answer. I THINK the intent was to test the

waters to see what people would be willing to pay extra for.

The survey was almost 50 percent information gathering like

how many cruises each year do you take, which loyalty programs do

you already belong to, how much money would you would be willing to

pay to be in a loyalty program. At the end they wanted personal

information like age and income. To answer your question I think I remember

getting discounts on cruises, receiving onboard credit etc. by belonging

to a program. Not a very intuitive survey as far as I am concerned.

Platinum Plus. We enjoy the perks, but would not pay extra. We're taking a break from cruising in general, nothing booked and not even actively looking. An ill-timed inquiry by NCL in this crazy uncertain environment. But, of course, there is always someone who is willing to pay for something, which is why they continue to propose for-fee alternatives.

I received a survey from NCL for their loyalty program, which I rate as very poor and not a factor in choosing to sail with them over any other cruise line. What was "interesting" is the number of questions about a "paid add on" to the loyalty program with an annual or monthly fee to increase the benefits of the program.

It's not hard to read into this program as another revenue choice for the line. With the poor performance of the Latitudes program I wonder how many cruisers would pay extra for what amounts to a real loyalty program.

I received the survey and completed it.  I am platinum status. With this survey,  I personally felt NCL was trying to improve on its not so great loyalty program.

As far the add on option....it stated it was optional!  So what harm is in that?  Take it only if it benefits you.

The survey addressed many  topics and I think it was a really good survey!  JMO

Same with me re: status...got survey ..but I did not even bother to open it......did one another time...and took forever....not worth my time...

We are PP, nothing was booked nor future booked. DW got survey.  Part was about willingness to pay a fee to get percent off or obc.

MSC gives 5% for members out of the box for free and as civil servants it is 10% with no fee.

Received the survey and was so disappointed that it was about Latitude Rewards. I was looking for any type of correspondence from NCL regarding the status of my refund. DH and I are Platinum or maybe Platinum Plus and enjoy the specialty dinners, priority boarding, and free laundry but don’t need the other rewards. Our next cruises are booked on HAL & Oceania ( a dream come true is an Oceania Cruise!) so our NCL Latitude status is losing its importance.

PP here to with 10 cruises currently booked. I did not do the survey.

What I want is to be able to use my loyalty across their other lines. Priority boarding is a huge plus for me, as well as priority tendering. I also wish for more laundry.

I never eat the crap I get delivered every day, I don't and never have dined with an officer. I do like the dinners.

Do I want to pay more? NO

DO I want the levels spread out higher? Yes. After PP I am only half way to Ambassador. Its a long road.

we've been platinum and platinum plus for a number of years, and the last thing i care about is  having dinner with the officers

exactly, we don't either. Also, the thought they would charge an annual fee to hold status is ridiculous, they can have it as far as i am concerned. Like Budget Queen give me a better price. Only thing we enjoy is the free laundry and the dinner but even that they are not asking for extra surcharge. I would not be surprised that they would do like United Airlines that if you don't take a flight a year or have the credit card you lose your miles, Miles have expiration dates. I bet you would have to take at least a cruise a year to keep your status. IMO.

one of the primary selling points for me on ncl is freestyle dining. even if offered, if i have to dress up for the mdr to have dinner with the officers, that is an  absolute deal breaker for me. if i cant come in jeans, i aint coming, even if im invited to sit in the captains lap!!!! (ha ha)
