Today's sunrise is from my 2009 Blount voyage from Chicago to New Orleans.  In June 13 I disembarked Niagara Prince in New Orleans.  As I look again this actually has to be sunset on the 12th.

George Washington University to stop using ‘Colonials’ name by 2023-24

 

In a statement, university officials said the use of the name has divided the community and can “no longer serve its purpose as a name that unifies.”

KenzSailing interesting.  My school used the Eagles as their mascot but we sued to play those Colonials.

Huh.  I had inferred from some of your comments that you went to that downtown school.  Turns out I should have looked further up New Mexico Av.

Yes.   Near Ward  Circle.

 

used to walk from school up Nebraska to I think Van Ness. Right on Van Ness to Wisconsin to Roy Rogers.  
 

I think to the left on Wisconsin we walked to Arne Waffle Shop.

 

One summer I worked at Wesley Drug store.  I suspect it is gone.   But Foxhall should be there.

A fellow Crystal Society wino friend gave me a tip a few years ago to bargain hunt for wine at Grocery Outlet. Sometimes you can find a good bargain, but often hit and miss.

 

Imagine my surprise yesterday when when I saw Crystal’s C Reserve 2018 Cabernet on the shelf for $6.99 a bottle! I bought a case. Then tipped off my Crystal Society friend who bought the rest of that location’s stock...2 1/2 cases!

 

Told my wino cousin in Southern California. She and hubby went to their Grocery Outlet and snagged two cases!
