Rotterdam was available to book on HAL website last night (though Ryndam was also mentioned).  This morning Rotterdam disappeared and Ryndam was back. But an hour ago, Rotterdam Premier Voyage was available to book!

They have updated the name of the ship on the website, but they havn't changed the sailing schedule yet.

 

Also they have uploaded 35 additional cruises since yesterday as 'Find a Cruise' search yields 1310 results and yesterday it was 1275.

I had the same thought too when I saw that the Rotterdam was leaving... have to have a Rotterdam in the ranks so this didn't come as a surprise at all. Leave the R and D A M and replace the letters in between. I do hope they will have some ties to the previous Rotterdams (photos, artwork, history plaques, and Captain Card's paintings).

 

Now I just might have to book a sailing on her despite my misgivings about the shrinked promenade deck. (Are the teak deck chairs available anywhere on that particular class of ships now they can't fit on the promenade deck?)

It would be great if they bring some artwork from the old Ms. Also, would she be doing a world cruise, if the Zaandam leaves the fleet too?

We'll book the new Rotterdam When we hear the Casino is SMOKE FREE. We sailed on the Konigsdam  twice and liked everything about it except the horrid smell in the Casino (even on non-smoking nights) and you have to pass thru to get to the front elevator. Meantime there are other HAL ship for us.

Agree 100% however, unfortunately Capt. Stephen Card's magnificent (fwd stairwell) paintings have not appeared on HAL's new ships starting with Koningsdam

Our last voyage was on the Rotterdam in March. Our next Holland America cruise will be on the Rotterdam/Ryndam in September. Amsterdam to Fort Lauderdale.  From 1200 to 2500.

We were scheduled to sail on her in June. I'm a little disappointed that that's not going to happen. Info on HAL's blog says that we will be rebooked on a similar cruise later in the summer. That's a long time to wait! Might have to look for a Carribean cruise next winter/spring. First world problems and all that!!

Yesterday, we booked Ryndam October 2021 TA.  Today the same cabin on Rotterdam is almost $1000.00 more (Canadian).  I guess the name change warrants higher prices.  Glad we’re booked!

Check the HAL site under the Travel Advisories Link.  Then click Impacted Cruises and scroll down.  I think you'll find that June & July Ryndam itineraries are being transferred to the Nieuw Statendam.

I have kept an eye on itineraries and the new ship arrives in Port Everglades and then nothing else.  With everything going on I’ll be patient.

Thanks! I'll go check it out! We would love to sail on a brand new ship but I'll just be happy to be on a ship again!

Hmmmm ... I just checked and we are now booked for late August/September on the Rotterdam.

I saw this on facebook about 2 hours ago and was so happy that they made this decision.  I think having a Rotterdam in the fleet might, maybe might, make up for the selling of Rotterdam VI.  Can't wait to check out some new itineraries and dream about sailing.
