L&S to Odyssey Sailings

Has anyone managed to lift and shift from any royal ship other than Odyssey departing in 2020 or 2021 to Odyssey in 2021 or early 2022. I have three booked cruises departing before April 2021 that I want to move, but the L&S options do not include Odyssey of the Seas. Is it possible that Odyssey is exempt? Interestingly, I also had a 4th cruise booked on Odyssey for Nov 2020 and when I tired to L&S (before they sailings were canceled) it also only listed other ships, so I ended up selecting something else.

Odyssey was one of my choices in the drop down menu when I went to L&S a Jan 2021 cruise on Oasis.  I ended up going with Harmony, but Odyssey was a close second.  My 'window' of dates I could do a lift and shift was Jan 2nd through first week of Feb since the ones in late December were holiday cruises and exempt.

We did Lift & Shift of our Nov. 2020 Explorer 14-night Transatlantic cruise to the Oct. 2021 Odyssey 14-night Transatlantic cruise. Our Odyssey roll call is full of people who moved to the Odyssey TA via L&S from other fall 2020 Transatlantic cruises, too.

I did a lift and shift from Empress to odyssey mar 2022. 8 night.

Many have L&S from Jewel TA Nov 2020 to Odyssey TA Oct 2021 , but 2 guest cabins are sold out except for Interiors , and cabins are restricted for 3&4 guests and available for balconies , oceanviews and interiors.

You can try calling- I called customer service Monday morning, didn't wait on hold at all, and the representative was VERY helpful. He did actually put me on hold for a minute because he said he had to get approval, but he lift and shifted my 7 day Oasis cruise that was the week after Thanksgiving 2020, to a 8 day Odyssey cruise that's actually Thanksgiving week 2021. I was shocked- for our room category, we're paying less than half of the list price for that cruise. He was so helpful I'm ashamed I didn't get his name, I would've liked to send in kudos for him.

Like the others --- I lift & shifted to Odyssey too --- i think it all depends on the situation.

I have an ongoing problem with an L&S to Odyssey.

It's been many months and numerous expensive phone calls (over $50 so far) and I  still haven't been issued with an updated invoice.

I'm done with calling them and have made a formal complaint to ABTA

I'm a UK cruiser.

I lifted and shifted from an Anthem 8 night to an Odyssey 8 night.  I was told they would have to have my price protection given "special approval" as my original Anthem sailing in a 2C- Oceanview with a Large Balcony  had a $500. casino certificate attached to it along with my solo supplement, a 30% reduction , a resident special, and my pinnacle balcony benefit which brought the sailing down to $827.92.  That sailing was going to PC, Nassau and Coco Cay. The Odyssey sailing is going to Aruba, Curacao, and Grand Cayman. The same cabin on that sailing is currently $2,936.36  The "special approval" took 6 days.  The phone call came last night at 8:30pm.  The representative made a big deal out of it, telling me "I am happy to inform you that after several supervisory reviews your "price protection" from your Anthem cruise to Odyssey has been approved."  

It appeared all along that they were most concerned about the amount I was paying for the cruise rather than the choice of ships.

I did a L&S from Independence to Odyssey - 6 night Caribbean sailing Jan 20 to 21.

Price is about £2000 cheaper than what we had got for Independence (JS Guarantee for only £550 a person! - JS on Odyssey is currently £1750 a person).

@little britain may have  a free phone number you can use. I would not worry about an invoice, just make sure things look right online.

Not sure about that. We did an Empress to Symphony shift that was upside down 7 grand.

 

The big holdback now is holiday sailings.  I got an Easter shift denied to Harmony.

For me, I would have been perfectly happy to L&S to Anthem the following year, same time next year (would have been an add on to 3 already existing cruises, but they said, "no;" the sailing the following year was 9 nights. They added a sea day to the same 8 night itinerary and there were no 8 night sailings during the acceptable time period.  It amazes me how they can be such sticklers for certain things that are beyond the customer's control.

I am currently trying to L&S an Empress RS to Odyssey and they are denying.  I have a friend who L&S OS to OS from Empress to Odyssey just last week.  Very frustrating.  What's really interesting is that the online tool shows the Odyssey sailing as an option but the CSR aren't allowing it.  Next step is to have my TA do the online L&S.  If I'm not happy with the cabin category assignment I will just CWC and get an FCC.

Thanks. This is our next strategy.  I will accept an OS or higher but nothing less.  So stupid for the CSR to deny something that is clearly offered online.  Fingers crossed but if it doesn’t work, the worst that can happen is that I end up with another FCC. Got plenty of those already.

Yours were suites swaps ?  I know you do SC quite often. Just wondered if you were able to L&S into SC.  Thanks.

My Odyssey was a OS suite swap.  However,  another couple wanted to go and the Odyssey only has 2 OS on the ship and the other one was not available. They would have been fine with a GS  My TA said booking the Empress Os to Odyessy GS would be risky since he had to call and do it and they may not "downgrade" the suite.  They did not want to take a chance and get a FCC since they had 2 huge ones from Viking river cruises.

 

Maybe the OS are not available on the sailing you want.

 

I have been able to l/s the 2020 Presidents Cruise SC from Barcelona to a 2021 Anthem from Southhampton via online tool.   I had the new panoramic suite on Allure then they put me in the 2 bedroom AT when they cancelled drydock then to a GL on Anthem with the switch, so different categories.

 

I was also able to L/s another A1 from Dec 2020 to Jan 2022 before the online tool was available.

I had our TA handle it from the get go.

As far as suites, there arent very many OS to begin with. I have no idea which one I got. Need to look

You can do the shift yourself online but your ta will have to change the cabin

According to the website, there is an OS available on the Odyssey Cruise that I’m trying to shift to.  I was hoping to get a SC suite...but I will take the OS if they will do it.

Thanks.  Since she  started this and has been handling it, I don’t want to get in her way....but final payment date is rushing in and I need to get this done, one way or the other.  I know there are “issues” if I L&S this and then CWC after the original final payment date, so I want it all done TOday.

What was your original cabin on Empress Rs or Os?
