NEW- ROYAL CARIBBEAN ANNOUNCES UPDATES TO 2021 SUMMER CRUISES

Not  very happy with RCCL right now.  Booked our cruise on Nov. 11, 2019 for July 2021.  RCCL seems to have forgotten us.  Still have not heard anything from them.  I questioned our TA she didn’t get anything either.  She just called and said it was true.  Maybe when they just cancel your cruise they don’t care enough to let you know.  Maybe folks who can reschedule are the only concern.

Another disappointed cruiser here.  We were booked on the 6/19/21 8 night on Brilliance.  We missed a family cruise to Aruba/Curacao 2 years ago and this was my little make up cruise.  Same cruise/ports but now on Independence.  My DH was a letter carrier for 30 years and his feet are in constant pain.  We were looking forward to a smaller ship.  We have decided to cancel as we are not interested in the Independence.  I am just going to take the refund.  We have a Celebrity cruise on deck for next November.  Celebrity may be our go to line in the future - bigger is not better for us.😢

We wish we were in your boat, literally.  RCCL crapped all over us and just outright cancelled our 8 day cruise and offered no other cruises to choose from.  Seems they turned our 8 day into a 6 day cruise and made the week prior to our cruise and the week after our cruise, both 8 days instead of 6, to the same islands we were supposed to be sailing to.  You would think we would get moved to one of those 2 sailings, but no.  RCCL says just take you money back and re-book the new cruise yourself at triple what you originally had it booked for.  Not feeling any love towards RCCL right now.

Same here, just wondering what they'll do about cabin assignments.

Lucky you.  Wish that was our worry.  We simply got cancelled on even though they could have simply moved our Brilliance cruise to the Indy like they are offering for you.

We got our email this afternoon cancelling our Adventure Baltic cruise. Got to love how they tell me I only have four days to decide if I want the alternate cruise on Jewell, but don't tell where the cruise will start/end or what the ports are. "SIMILIAR PORTS" on a Baltic cruise with an overnight in St. Petersburg is not what we are looking for. We wanted the itinerary that we booked. Already called our travel agent and they called RCI and the cruise is cancelled. Sad.

Unless your Adventure Baltic cruise departed from Copenhagen on Aug. 31 - the Jewel itineraries are the same dates and itineraries as Adventure’s.

Interesting——— finally received an e-mail rom RCCL today and mine seems to be a different expiration date.

Understanding how much time and effort go into planning your cruise, it's important to us that we make it up to you. So, we also have a special offer just for you. If you rebook an alternate European itinerary departing in 2021 by October 21st, 2020, we'll provide you with an Onboard Credit valued at a $100 USD for interior and ocean view staterooms or $200 USD for balcony staterooms and suites. You must decide to move to a new sailing by October 21st, 2020. Once you find a new sailing, contact us to rebook your next getaway. The Onboard Credit will be automatically applied to your new reservation 72 hours from the date you rebooked your new cruise. So, there's nothing additional for you to do!

Wow - I can't understand their logic.  They would rather lose your cruise dollars than rebook you on a different week?  Doesn't make a lot of sense.  Are you already cancelled?  If not you could push it up the ladder.

That's awful!  You'd think they'd give you an option to stay with the 6 night or move to an 8 night,   or some kind of incentive to rebook.  Anything.
I'm so sorry, but if it's any consolation there are some decent rates out there on other ships/sailings.
Our daughter and her family are on this cruise with us and I found some sailings out of FLL that were actually lower in fare than what we paid originally.
We had an aft balcony, so if they don't step up and give us an aft or better which sounds like they might not do , we'll just move to another ship for a lower fare.
Good luck.

I do not think I would be able to beat the rate we found for the Brilliance.  We really wanted to do the ABC islands (never been there before).  The cruise we booked visited 2 of them.  Same cruise one day earlier on the Symphony was exactly three times the price that we booked the same itinerary on the Brilliance for.  Thanks for the positive vibes.  Timing of the cruise and the itinerary was perfect for our family's situation.  Hopefully RCCL steps up and offers those of us on our sailing the chance to just do the itinerary we originally booked, just a week earlier or later.  We love RCCL and decisions like this really make it difficult to stay with them in the future.  The experience is going to already be so much less enjoyable anyways due to new restrictions placed on cruisers, that it is very hard to justify cruising over land vacations where we do not go through all the hassles.

Only thing I can think is they want people to re-book at a higher price or somebody really just not not put any effort into the decision which has an easy solution, offer a move to the Indy for the exact same itinerary a week earlier or later.  The cruise is still showing in my planner now.  I have not received an official email yet from RCCL, but my travel agent received notification that this is how our sailing was being handed (straight cancellation, no choice to move to another cruise which actually exists).

I wrote a letter to Michael Bayley's office and my travel agent forwarded it through his channels.  The point in the letter was acknowledged, but we have heard nothing else as of yet.

I just got off of the phone with Royal.  I hope all of what he told me is true.

We had an 8 night on May 8 on the Brilliance moved to an 8 night on May 8 on the Independence.  We had 3 cabins.  My husband and I in one, daughter and BF in 2nd and son and fiancee in the 3rd.  We had been booked by a Royal agent after being one of the first cancelled in March so I wasn't sure if we were actually linked.  I had gone online and added the kids reservations to ours the minute I got the email hoping we would get our new cabins together.

The rep said that our reservations were indeed linked.  He said that is an internal process they have to do.  What I did online was just to enable us to book dinner reservations together, etc.  Being linked by Royal ensures we get our new cabins next to each other.  Fantastic.

I asked why I was the only one who got the email out of the 3 of us.  He said my email was used for all 3 reservations and it didn't have anything to do with their C & A preferences.  That made me feel better.

Then he mentioned OBC.  Really?  The email said nothing about OBC.  He looked it up and said because we are in balcony cabins we will be getting $200 OBC for the inconvenience for each cabin.  He asked me to confirm that I wanted to accept the offer to move to the Indy and said he would note in the reservations right now and put in for the $200 OBC.  Fantastic again.

We had just purchased the Deluxe Beverage Package the night before we got the email for $434.24 each ($46 a day).  He said they cannot transfer that over.  They will have to give us a refund (3-4 weeks) and we will have to repurchase the package.  When I said I was sad because I had gotten such a deal and now would be missing out on it, he checked something else and said that they would be offering the package for 1 week after they complete the rebookings (9/28) for $434.24 ($46 a day) and we should go and purchase it then.  So if we do that we will be out an additional $868 per cabin for 3-4 weeks but at least we will get the deal.

I had $100 OBC that had been applied from the MyVegas game.  I had used it with the bev package purchase.  He said that would transfer over to the new reservation.  I'm a little skeptical about that so I will call the Casino group if I don't see it.

I hope this helps those who are wondering......and I hope it all ends up being true!

Best of luck getting 3 cabins right next to each other. Having them linked I'll be surprised if this has any bearing.

Being cancelled and not moved to another sailing is tough. I am on the July 3 cruise and will be moving to Independence. I am looking at rates for that cruise and they seem to be really high for that cruise. Sorry for your bad experience.

What really hurts is we expected to just be moved to the Indy like you were.  They flipped the 8 and 6 day sailings on us, so why not just let those who booked the 6 day be given the opportunity to move to the 6 day sailing a week later and let those on the 8 day sailing move to the new 8 day sailing a week earlier.  It just creates a lot of bad blood and bad publicity.  Hopefully RCCL will realize this was an error on their part and make this offer to those of us affected like they did when they made the drink package error a while back and then changed their decision after the public uproar.  fingers crossed.

We have a cruise booked on the Vision in November 2021.  Is it common for a ship to redeploy to a new home port, like the Vision to San Juan in summer 2021, then move to another home port (Ft Lauderdale) in November?

If the Vision stays in SJ, we will want to move to another ship, because we do not like sailing out of SJ.  The flights to get there are tiring, and we don't want to take on the extra expense for it, either.

Any guesses?

The 4/5 nights on Adventure in the Med could be interesting for a b2b if they mix up the ports. But not so interesting if the 5 nighter is just an extra sea day.

I agree.

I'm looking forward to seeing these itineraries even though we have been to most Mediterranean ports many times.

Hopefully it’s mixed up. A single 4 or 5 night cruise is of no interest to us. 7 night is too short as far as I’m concerned.

Any clarification on whether b2b will be allowed when cruising resumes?

Thank you for posting this. Looks like things are good for you and your group, that's great.
I was curious about the OBC,  we also have 2 balcony cabins booked on the May22 sailing (1 aft) and when I just called RC  the rep said only those that had their cruise canceled, not replaced with the Independence are getting the OBC.
I like  your rep better than mine.😊   I didn't argue, we'll just wait and see.
When I asked if they will be able to assign an aft cabin she just said you will be reassigned in the category you were originally booked in.
Of course they don't have as many aft balconies on the Indie so that remains to be seen.
Thanks again for the information, I'll post here if when I here when they update our reservation as well.
