Any idea how Royal handles shore excursions? We were booked on the Adventure being transferred to the Jewel and already reserved shore excursions in St. Petersburg.

Should I expect having to rebook and follow-up accordingly with a refund?

More than likely anything you booked through your cruise planner will automatically refunded to the credit card used.

You will have to re-book any ship excursions you now want on Jewel.

Thanks for the heads up! My last refund experience with Royal was filled with constant frustration. Not looking forward to another round of this... hopefully things have been improved since my last one.

JW is taking over all of Ad's schedule with the same itineraries for all sailings.  They didnt include the 10 and 11 night cruises in the press release.

Jewel does not take over all cruises from Adventure, departure on August 31 from Copenhagen is just cancelled and no rebooking options offered...

disappointed that they are altering cruises nearly 12 months ahead and basicaly offering nothing other than a deposit refund... we wer booked on brilliance and had our favorite stateroom booked.... now no alternative repositioning cruise offered  unless we do a transpacific  on  anthem radiance or ovation all later dates  or vision  and all  choices  more expensive .  Refunding deposit means we pay $450 each for a new booking so are worse off guess that applies to everyone or change to something not suited ..

i totally agree with tink bella mom.... nothing offered for cruises cancelled nearly 12 months away and no real alternative repositioning offered... no point in booking any airfares hotels or excursions at the moment   .... and does everyone realis no insurance will cover people travelling overseas if they catch cov or if they have to cancel prior ..at least cwc policy covers cancellation up to 48 hrs before.  they really should not be offering anything until it can be guaranteed  ports open and international flights to/from departure and arrival ports also guaranteed.....think about australia  unlikely to allow any international departures /arrivals until mid 2021 and then may have to qaurantine for 14 days at own expense.

I had two Ultra Spacious (Family) Ocean View rooms booked with 8 people for my mom's 65th birthday. Definitely disappointed that there are no rebooking options, just $100 OBC if we "rebook an alternate European itinerary departing in 2021 by October 31st, 2020."

I just got off the phone with the casino, he checked with the supervisor and right now they are not doing anything because they have not been told what the process will be. So he said to call back in 24 hours. We shall see!

I also had a casino cruise book for Brilliance on June 27th - email I got said they will move me automatically so I assume I will not have to contact casino

Another disappointed cruiser here.  We were booked on the 6/19/21 8 night on Brilliance.  We missed a family cruise to Aruba/Curacao 2 years ago and this was my little make up cruise.  Same cruise/ports but now on Independence.  My DH was a letter carrier for 30 years and his feet are in constant pain.  We were looking forward to a smaller ship.  We have decided to cancel as we are not interested in the Independence.  I am just going to take the refund.  We have a Celebrity cruise on deck for next November.  Celebrity may be our go to line in the future - bigger is not better for us.😢

Question - With the OBC deal to rebook a European cruise by October 31, what does that mean for the Cruise with Confidence guarantee that expires on 9/30?  We might want to consider booking a different European cruise and would love to do it in time for the OBC (booking by 10/31) but if we want to be able to fully cancel (and be under the "cruise with confidence" guarantee) we need to figure all of this out in 6 days, right?   That's a quick decision turnaround time!

Has anyone asked RCCL about this yet?

We didn't get an email yet, booked on June 21 Jewel.

I wonder what ports there will be on Brilliance's new 7 day out of Tampa and if that might work for you? Or Vision?

We have to fly to cruise, and go the night before, so an extra expense for us.  We only cruise every 2 or 3 years.  We had an FCC from Celebrity and are already cruising in November 2021, so we wouldn't want to do one in October.  And our last cruise in 2019 was from San Juan, so we were looking to go out of Florida this time.  We don't really like the port of Tampa.  Love Miami and Port Canaveral ( which I don't believe Royal uses).   We have through Monday to decide.  I think the Royal website is not up to date yet...Thank you for your suggestions.

The cruise isn't October 1,  that's the date they should appear for sale on the website, so a week from today you should see them on the site. The cruises are for next summer, the same time frame as the ones that were just canceled.  I was also on Brilliance and moved to Indy.  And I live on the west coast, so I for sure have to fly in the day before.

I cant see any of the European Adventure of the Seas sailings on the website. When are they released?

looks like they are being released on 10/1.  That date to the far right is 'opening date', which I assume means open for booking.

Thanks, I missed that. As a gesture to the people with cancelled cruises, it would have been good to get early access to those new cruises.

For those being transferred to jewel your ta may have access. Even if it not up on the site.

When I was transferred from allure to liberty my ta called that night and grabbed me a corner aft. Liberty wasnt yet posted to book on rcl site. Maybe I'm just lucky my poor ta was willing to call and get a great cabin. Made the bite of losing allure a little better.

For people who had bookings on Jewel out of Barcelona there is no transfer. Just a token $100 OBC if you book before end of Oct. I can hardly contain my excitement 🙄

Having a great TA has its advantages. 😎
