lovetotraveltx Posted March 9, 2021 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2021 Considering the 13 night transatlantic out of Galveston, Texas, next April, 2022. Can you please tell me the good, and the bad of the Adventure of the Seas. Looking for favorite features, what ship is it similar to, anything that makes it stand out. Would you sail it again, etc? Thank you!
Ashland Posted March 9, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2021 Love this class of RCI ship we've sailed on Mariner and will be doing a B2B in March 2022 on Explorer. We sailed on Adventure last Oct 2019 on the Snowbird Migration itinerary. I wouldn't hesitate to book her on any destination especially a long itinerary. Thank you! We love sailing on the Adventure and would again in a minute! In 2019, we spent about a month on Adventure during several different cruises, including the Snowbird Migration Cruise. The crew is wonderful and the “house” band that plays in Boleros at night we’re the best we’ve seen on a cruise ship! The Specialty Restaurants were also top notch! Another_Critic Posted March 9, 2021 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2021 Sailed on Adventure Sept 2019 Cape Liberty to Quebec. I really liked the ship. Adventure is a Voyager class ship (Voyager, Explorer, Adventure, Navigator, Mariner, ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyager-class_cruise_ship https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_of_the_Seas
Goodtime Cruizin Posted March 9, 2021 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2021 IMO, by far the best crew on the many ships we've been on. It's been a few years so I seriously doubt that crew is still around but it's what I remember best about the Adventure. Enjoy your cruise.

You mean shorter than Freedom class (Freedom, Liberty, Independence)

Rare John&LaLa Posted March 10, 2021 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2021 (edited) Balconies are dark. In my opinion Adventure has cove balconies, they form the exterior skin The newer Mariner has a more open, glass balcony. They stickbout from the ship. More light Edited March 10, 2021 by John&LaLa
shopper77 Posted March 10, 2021 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2021 Does anyone have picture of how the elevators are located by the cabins? Is it noisy if cabin is located near the elevators. Thanks for any info.
broadwaybaby123 Posted March 10, 2021 #11 Share Posted March 10, 2021 I LOVED my cabin on that ship! It was right above the Bridge, so we could see any port really well from our cabin!

The only additional noise you will experience is that there is more foot traffic as people move down the corridors between elevators and cabins. People talk and make noise. How much is a random situation.

The elevators are through the opening and around the corner to the right so you don't hear people waiting for an elevator. If a loud talker is walking down the hall you might hear them in your cabin but that can be said for any cabin on the ship.
mets123 Posted March 10, 2021 #14 Share Posted March 10, 2021 I found the casino to be very cramped very smoky. Just my opinion, please don't flame me.

Rare Sea Dog Posted March 10, 2021 #16 Share Posted March 10, 2021 (edited) On Adventure 3 years ago and loved it. Crew was fantastic. I agree with John on the balcony being a little dark, but we still loved it. Specialty restaurants were very good. Perfect size ship. Not too big, not too small. Rare Tree_skier Posted March 10, 2021 #17 Share Posted March 10, 2021 We were on Adventure Dec 2019 and loved her. The staff were really to notch. Obviously staff change but as long as the management team is the same I would expect the same degree of CS. The ship itself is in very good repair. MDR was very good and our one trip to Chops was excellent. Of particular note was the bar staff. They seemed to all have remarkable memories and were quick to take and serve your order. As far as cabins go... we had the coveted 1688 with it's remarkable balcony. The stripper pole was fun to swing from. I'd glad go on Adventure again. Ashland Posted March 10, 2021 #18 Share Posted March 10, 2021 We had #9624 in Oct 2019 for our Snowbird and even though the balcony on Adventure is 1st generation with the balcony part of the hull it made no big difference to us. Will be on Explorer March 2022 (B2B) in #1300 and I'm sure it won't bother us then either.

We had an inside cabin on our Cape Liberty to Quebec cruise, so the hull balcony configuration didn't bother us at all. 😀
lakelorain Posted March 10, 2021 #20 Share Posted March 10, 2021 It's not a Trans-Atlantic. It's a repositioning to New Jersey. Are you sure you have the right cruse?

It was very cramped. If someone was sitting at a slot, you could barely pass behind them. I also hated the stools instead of chairs with backs at the slots. Very uncomfortable if playing for a long time.

birdlord Posted March 11, 2021 #23 Share Posted March 11, 2021 We sailed Adventure in 2017 out of Puerto Rico on a Southern Caribbean itinerary. We were on a hump cabin right in the middle of the hump on a floor where the balcony was not all steel (top half had glass) and I don't remember it really bothering us -- not like the more modern balconies of today. In any event, I will tell you that there is no additional noise from elevators and we were right there. Adventure is a lovely ship - smaller than the big Oasis class ships (which we ALSO love). I sometimes feel you can attend to relaxation more on a smaller class ship because you aren't SO overwhelmed with choices and have to cover so much ground to get from point A to point B. Anyway, we JUST booked Adventure to Bermuda out of NJ for May 2022 and I'm already looking forward to it. Of course, except for sea days, we won't be spending the time on the ship like we normally do because we've never been to Bermuda and this is a short (5 nighter) cruise. One thing I do love about Adventure that some other ships don't offer -- the adult Solarium pool is OPEN (not enclosed under glass dome) but there's also room to be in the shade if you prefer to be out of the sun.

vettegal99 Posted March 11, 2021 #25 Share Posted March 11, 2021 January 2020 was our 3rd cruise on the Adventure of the Seas. We were in cabin 8310 which was a hump balcony and had no issues with the room. Have to say crew on this ship is fantastic. We love this class of ship and this ship in particular.
