We were once on Oasis and went to trivia.  It looked like we were the only couple there.  The host was obviously used to dealing with rabid trivia players and hastily assured us that if no one else showed up to play we’d still get the prizes.  LOL.

My husband always asks in a loud voice...is this the one where we can win a free cruise....  So far that hasn't worked out.

After refreshing naps Mom & I hit the martini bar. Great music!!

Dinner was FANTASTIC at Tuscan!!

I like how they are spreading diners out more.

We both had trout & nearly liked the plate clean!

Ruben, Susanti & Luu took such great care of us.

Bailey the chef visited us—what a lovely man!

Asked how is was doing & replied wonderful because God fills him with life❤️He had such a great energy about him!

We watched the Whisper Game—different people sure make for an entirely different game! But always hysterical.

Production show Kaleidoscope was fantastic—incredibly talented cast.

Mom LOVED the silent disco! We danced nearly the entire time. We chose to wear masks in that environment. Don’t love that but felt it wise.

Then hit the casino. I did well at the poker game but was up too late & had a couple too many drinks!!

Today so far:

Buffet

Pool

Mast Grill

Was invited to a 230 wedding by the bride (on FB group) & We have made friends with several guests…but oh a nap is calling again!

(working well for Mama—she was up until 1230!)

Seem to be more passengers who have sailed NCL & Carnival (per conversations) while last week seemed to be more repeat Celebrity guests.

Unfortunately more whiners too. The embarkation debacle certainly amplified that I’m sure.

Our POV is that times r different now, and we r trying to be understanding when they mess up.

Mom met many people in line & that makes for a fun cruise.

And sure don’t mind that OBC😉

Having a fantastic time again this week!!

(Dan must’ve missing me—he is texting me quite a bit!
Ah, absence makes the heart grow finder❤️)

Just curious, do you know if they are scheduling any lectures on sea days?

They did on the previous sailing, we had two Historian speakers, one did a couple of  rock n roll lectures and the other did Pirates, Atlantis and "it seemed like a good idea at the time".  All shows were held in the Club and replayed on the TV along with Kate's Q&A session

Cool. Just what we wanted to hear. Thanks!! 😎

The Edge is AMAZING!

When we took our 1st Celebrity cruise 7 years ago we felt it was a bit of a step up in  service & food over Princess & RCCL.

Well, the Edge takes things to a whole new level!!
And half capacity, it feels so luxurious.

Still plenty busy but we love not having to be at anything early to get a seat.

We have a Sunset Veranda & love it.
was able to see Interior (quite spacious,), IV & Sky Suite thx to many gracious Cruise Critic members who allowed a crowd to wander in.

We had an informal group meet yesterday at 10 in Eden of 15ish people. Great people, we had a great time!

Breakfasts: buffet, solid

Lunches: Mast grill (solid, especially w/ myriad of toppings)

Dinner:

Normandie—Baked Brie (FABULOUS) & halibut—very good

Tuscan—salmon tartar, beef tournedos & coconut sorbet, all very good; betwwen the 6 of us we nearly ordered every choice last night & everyone was quite pleased. Need to try the potato flan appetizer next time. (DH had the Carbonara which was oddly but deliciously on egg noodles & the portion was HUGE;)

We have played many game shows & lots of trivia, even tried Deal or No Deal.

Edge has upped their prize game—Edge hats & heavy duty water bottles.

Casino has been good to us. I’ve lost $10 in 3 sessions of video poker; Dan hit 4 deuces last night. Hold Em table was busy after 11.

Comedian was great & friends said the show was great last night.

Silent disco SO much fun as always.

As others have noted, passengers & staff are all so happy to be here—the joy is palpable.

We have noted few service issues.
Funniest was at Club during Disco—twice they cleared our drinks that were fairly full😂

Be sure to tune in for the Captains daily 10am announcement—quite fun.

And Dan may have a crush—she is quite stunning,!

Signing off for now—if u haven’t booked already, DO IT NOW

We were next door to the Edge on the AOS in Nassau on 8/1 Sunday-just booked a Sunset Veranda for January cruise…we were waiting for Capt Kate to be back from her 3 month break 😉

Ok had BBQ Cobia for dinner.

It was covered in cloyingly sweet BBQ sauce—I had visions of a light sauce, then perhaps thrown back on the flame.

Mom shared her salmon with me.

No worries my escargots & bread pretty much filled me up!

Low key night; in room early.

CDC just put St. Martin on level 4 High risk travel list—wonder if that changes our stop there? Greece & Ireland too—Could affect Apex & Silhouette too😕

Just read on the FB Royal Caribbean blog that the Virgin Islands (St Thomas) just told RCCL that their ships would not be allowed to enter if there were any unvaccinated passengers over 12 years old on the ship. Any word yet if the Edge is going to be allowed to stop there on your cruise? That is unless there are no unvaccinated folks on your cruise over 12, then all is well.

The government of the U.S. Virgin Islands has informed Royal Caribbean of a new policy that requires all cruise passengers ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated in order for the ship to be allowed entry into the port. This latest requirement applies to all cruise ships scheduled to enter U.S. Virgin Island ports.

Nuts must have missed USVI in my fatigue…

Will report as soon as I know

Ugh—suddenly this feels like when we were in Vegas last March as things began to shut down.

They have a lecturer doing four talks about the history of rock and roll. Very informative and interesting!

I'm on Edge starting next week, and got emails the last 2 days that all PAX now need to be tested pre-cruise and vaccinated, exception being kids.

DEFINITELY!!

Our trivia win tonight was a bit of a guilty win for sure with so many questions from last week🙄…but u saved the win!!

The illusionist interaction on Saturday jaded my view of him & his jokes seemed not so much insult comedian as just rude.

Swung by the nocturnal party & was soaked after 1 danced. Less crowded than last week, but to be expected with a few hundred less passengers.

Poker was profitable again, had a lively table.

Up late again…sneaking in a late breakfast b4 planning our day.

Tanning a challenge—had a small squall go thru, cloudy but nice & cool.  Keeps trying to rain more…

Enjoying the relaxing.

Heard a woman complain that this ship was awful since there is no library—-HUH??
As a librarian all I can say is that ship libraries are pathetic as far selection goes.
Games r nice but with Covid protocols those aren’t out either (Eden usually has books & games).

Most bring their own books; we bri g card games (we asked for cards at guest services & they gave us some)

Getting a bit sad as our time winds down—but still have 2.5 more days!

(OK I wrote this TWO DAYS AGO…It never posted!)

TRYING AGAIN🙄

Any concerns with the paper vaccine card sticking to the plastic over time?

Bought plastic holder for vaccine card.  it fits perfectly in the Passbook holder.
