Your travel agent either isn't very good at their job, or they were lying.

Refundable deposits are still a thing unless you book a suite.  If you have a non-suite balcony, you should have been able to book a refundable rate.

Thanks for your input. I contacted my travel agent today and asked her to check again for the refundable deposit, because that's what we would prefer... especially in these uncertain times.

On Serenade right now. I hope I’m making you jealous.

If I weren't getting onboard tomorrow I would say yes.  Looks like you had a great trip.  Hoping ours is just as nice this coming week. Wishing safe travels home to you and Mrs. Skier.

Staff is phenomenal. Entertainment is average except for cruise director John Blair he is great. Food is  very above average. I’m having an amazing time. I’ll probably cry when they make me get off. If your embarkation is delayed because of a police incident, that’ll be me hanging on desperately to the lamp at the end of the R bar as security try’s to drag me away off the ship.

The SeaView Cafe was awesome.

Did the Seaview Cafe get the boot during same drydock that moved the CL upstairs 🤔

And was DL added at that same time.

Only time I saw a Seaview was when the CL occupied the space Tree_skier is sleeping in now.

To tell you the truth I much prefer Voyager/Freedom class.

We prefer Oasis or Quantum class ships over Radiance class.  We have sailed on all four Radiance class ships and would sail one again for the itinerary.  Given a larger ship doing the exact same cruise, we would always go with the larger ship.

My favorite cruise of all was my transatlantic on Jewel. My only complaint is how the smoke from the Casino comes out into the Centrum on this class of ship. It made the Centrum a place I walked through but didn't linger.

On the other hand, this class has the best Windjammer. Nothing will ever top sitting outside eating dinner with a bottle of wine as the sun set off the Spanish coast.

Quiet mornings in the Vortex reading and enjoying a cup of coffee are also great.

My TA rebooked today with the refundable deposit. It's just smart while navigating these waters with the virus restrictions and changes.

Here's what she said: "Sorry about that.  I had to argue and explain I specifically asked the refundable question and was told no.  I took it to the Resolution Department, the booking had to be canceled and rebooked in order for them to change to a Refundable deposit.  The good news is, it's done, same cabin."

I'm glad you were able to get it straightened out!  We Debs have to stick together!

Yep, best Chef's Table setup in the fleet.

However, pool deck is crowded in my opinion

Nice when they open the solarium, but also nice when the AC is running😉

Back in the day they did a nice iverflow lounge setup in Safari Lounge. Doubt we'll see that again.

And no one mentioned rotating bar in VCL

Pool deck and Solarium is something we don't use...so no big deal for us anyway.

I haven't seen the rotating bar working in the VCL in a long time.  I think the last one was on EX (yes, not Radiance class), but last one I saw actually working, though not sure if that one even does now?

Ive not been on every class but Ive seen tons of pics.  The Radiance class is by the most "elegant" looking to me.  I love all the glass and the wood.   Best Schooner Bar Ive seen yet and the perfect sized ship.  Its been 10 years and still probably my most favorite cruise so far was Radiance out of Tampa back in 2011.    The Seaview cafe was still in place and thats been one of my most favorite dining venues yet

Radiance Class is our favorite. We’ve been on this class more than any other. We just got off Allure yesterday and have been on Oasis class many times and like it, but it just doesn’t have the warmth and community feeling that radiance class ships have. As others have said, no ship has a better Schooner Bar than radiance class. All the glass in the ship keeps us able to see the ocean, and that’s why I cruise. To see the ocean.

Breakfast was perfect this morning.

I remember one B2B on Radiance Alaska when we did our turn around in Vancouver.  Sitting outside behind the WJ for breakfast (my favorite as well!)...watched a lady set her plate down with a big donut on top.  She turned to talk to a friend, which was all that Seagull needed...quick swoop down and donut takes flight.  😄

OMG yes!!  Horrible design with both Vision class and Radiance class having the casino with wide open entrance right next to the centrum, which acts like a chimney to disburse the smoke all through the middle floors.  🤢

Especially bad on sea days.  Ughh...

I have read many complaints about this on CC over the years.  Why they can't simply put a door that closes at the entrance to the Casino is beyond me.

I'll have to disagree on Schooner being the best. At least when it comes to trivia. It's to long and narrow. Can't hear questions if sitting down by Chops. Plus to much traffic, especially when the aft lounge is being used.

Most of these sound like why I love Grandeur.

Was supposed to be on Brilliance repo this Nov, but oh well.

Back to Grandeur repo next spring.  Then try Enchantment in the fall.

I was on the Serenade last week and again this week.  One evening last week the bar was rotating.  I think someone requested it.

I love Radiance of the seas it was my daughters first cruise she was a year old then, now she’s 16.  We had so much fun.  The Seaview Cafe was also my favorite especially the wing basket.  We had great waitstaff in the dining room.  I loved the atmosphere onboard.

I LOVE Radiance Class! I’ve sailed on Radiance, Jewel, and Brilliance in that class. I have cruises coming up on Mariner, Oasis, Odyssey, and Freedom (none of which I’ve sailed on yet), and although I’m sure I’ll love them, I don’t foresee them becoming my favorites, except maybe for the dining options. I’ve sailed Independence, and although she’s a beautiful ship with a lot to do, the walking on a big ship is kind of insane, and I felt like I didn’t see the water as much from the ship venues (it felt like a more inside experience).

If you thought you did a lot of walking on Indy just wait until you get aboard Oasis.
