Good morning, all.  Lovely day here in southeastern PA.  Prayer request please for BIL who fell getting into daughter’s car yesterday.  Fractured femur, wrist and hip — 80 years old.  On morphine now but we will know more later today.  Thank you.  Katherine

Oh, how awful.  You're now on the list.

Well, CC is finally letting me react to posts. Here’s hoping it lets me post as well!

without literacy none of us would be on the Daily! Ampersands are very useful, & I love date and nut bread. The meal looks good - might be a good choice for tonight, using butterflied pork chops. Our rain lasted for the night. Now it has stopped, and the rainy forecast for the rest of the week has vanished.

We got a letter from a resort near Kelowna DH bought a timeshare at 20 years ago. Once bought, timeshares are notoriously hard to get rid of . Today we got a letter from them offering a no penalty cancellation for a limited time as they are restructuring the resort, and reducing the number of units in the timeshare pool. So it is gone now!

We also received the refund for our cancelled Africa trip this morning. Both are good news, but underscore roads not taken, so it’s sort of bittersweet.

Happy Wednesday, as those aboard our currently active BHBs are mid cruise and much envied!

Today has been cloudy and overcast, but still warm.  At least, with all the clouds I was able to get one chore out of the way.  Since the sun wasn't shining in the windows, I could raise the blinds and clean the inside of the windows.

@Overhead Fred  Great picture of the rainbow and the lake.  I now see why you wanted to get back.  Enjoy your time there.  Congratulatons on the negative test.

@JazzyV Vanessa, thank you for the nice comments on the pictures.

@Horizon chaser 1957  Wow, you hit the jackpot being able to cancel the timeshare.  You might try the casino the next time your on a BHB.  🤣

@aliaschief Good to get the flu shot out of the way.

@NextOne  Better to get the flu shot early than have it impact your cruise.

I thought I'd share a few pictures of Montpellier, which a large city about 35 km from Sete.  We took the transfer there on our first time in Sete in 2002 on the Noordam III.  It is a large urban area today, but was first mentioned in a document in 986 and came to prominence in the early 12th century.

These pictures capture some of the older area but also the newer areas.  It was a nice town to walk around.

Late, very late and the boards are not letting me reply. Just hope this goes through,

Went and got stitches out this morning and also got pathology report. All is good and margins are clear. The scarring looks bad, but it will fade and this is one time I am very happy to wear a mask in pubic now and probably into the future for awhile. The scar runs from just level with my nose up to under the eye, makes a sharp turn and ends near my ear. My step-sister reminds me that this is what make-up is for. Vitamin E cream is in my future also.

After that it was out to the shelter to sign checks and get the paper work started on some much needed repairs. The contractor and I have reached a truce. More money then we wanted to spend, but much less than he originally wanted. Now hoping for a late winter. It can be cold, just hold off on the snow for awhile.

All these pictures of food are making me hungry..... and I love date and nute bread.

Excellent news from the pathology report.  Your plan to use Vit. E is good.  I use Mederma scar removal gel to help fade them.  Can't hurt at least.

I agree the food pictures are making me hungry, too.  Especially the steak Roy just posted!  Yum!

Susan, yeah for a great report.  Glad you got the stitches out.   Also, glad you got an agreement on the repairs for the shelter.

Vitamin E works wonders (on the skin) and also, take Vitamin D as it helps too.  I used both and while you can still make out the scar from my elbow to my shoulder (or at least I can) most people don’t notice it.  Good luck.

So glad you have reached a deal with the shelter that can be manageable.  I hope the snow stays far away from you for some time.

Is that Mederma scar removal gel available without a prescription? I have a place from   " Moze on the nose" that I'd like to minimize! Thank you!

Late afternoon greetings!  @rafinmd you can take me off the Care list rotation--went in today for additional mammogram and ultrasound.  Results are really unknown, but radiologist talked to me personally and advised that although he doesn't know what is showing up, he thinks it might be a lymph node (unusual/but leave it to me), and wants everything re-done in 6 months.  Talking to him really eased my mind, so will just wait till March for more fun!!  Personally, I have never seen or talked to a radiologist before--always just see their reports.

@dfishcongratulations on getting the result on your pre-cruise test!  At testing center today they were happy I had also done a test (negative) post-cruise.

@durangoscotsglad your biopsy results were good, and I join you in celebrating.  Glad the stitches are out.

Many thanks to all for making this a most wonderful place.  This is my only "must visit" place each day.  Such sharing and caring of everyone who frequents the Daily.

I am going to be "famous"!  HA!!!!  On Friday I am doing an interview for a local TV station for September 11.  I am the only local Red Cross person who responded to NYC after 09/11. Also went back another time.  Don't know what type of interview it will be, but will be fun.

Have a great evening!

It's been a busy day!  Earlier, I typed out a long post and even saved it (I thought) in case it disappeared.  It disappeared, and evidently I hadn't saved it properly.  So I will at least pop in to say hello and say thanks for all the photos and food porn.  @Lady Hudson's BIL to go on the Care list, and @JAM37 to go on the Celebrations!  And thanks to everyone who posts.

We have very strange deer in our yard. Not only do they love the petunias, they love the cat. There are 2 different deer that will lick the cat until he is a slobbery mess. He will turn his head to get the other side "massaged". It's crazy to watch. And now the deer are standing on their hind legs trying to pick the plums off the tree which we hope will ripen so we can pick them before the raccoons raid the tree. Nothing more frustrating than to plan to pick the plums and find a bare tree with a ring of pits on the ground. Ah, rural living!

Yes, over the counter, no prescription.  You rub it into the scar every day once or twice.  Just make it a habit.  Could take 2 months or more for a new scar and older scars up to 6 months.  My DGS was a football player and had stitches on his face, so I bought him a tube and told him to use it.  He wouldn't have bought it himself as a college student, because 15 or 20 bucks is a lot to him.

And as far as removal, I'd say more of a minimizer.  Knock on wood, I haven't had the Mohs surgery on my face up to this point.  Hope that continues.

@durangoscots I'm glad to hear that your results were so good.  I used Bio Oil for my knee incisions.   It worked pretty well.  You really have to look to see the incision lines.

@cruzn single I'm happy that you can relax over your results as well.  Back to normal, almost.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations on my negative test.  Sue has her test tomorrow, but no reason to think she might be positive.  Donna has her hip surgery tomorrow and then will be in recovery mode.

I feel your pain, Ann.  It took 8 times to get my post on the FCL to take which was an important one or I would have just waited.

At the 3rd time, I decided I better copy and paste it 😉

That is awesome!  Tell all your friends and neighbors.  And good for you, going to NYC with the Red Cross.  Thank you for doing your part to help out.❤️

I was on TV once.  In the early 90's QVC took their show on a "50 in 50 tour".  They went to each state and broadcast from some location with vendors from that state showing their products.  I lived in Williamsburg, VA and my twin happened to be visiting me.  We went down to the Wren Building at the College of William and Mary where they were broadcasting from and were seated in the room as audience participants.  Someone came over to me and asked if I'd like to model jewelry.  I nervously said yes, and they took me outside to their "command center" bus with their 50 in 50 logo on it.  They had me stand next to it and model a bracelet on my skinny wrist.  I'm just glad I wasn't shaking too hard to see the bracelet.  We were recording the whole thing at home on the VCR (🙄) so I got to see it.  No more VCRs for us so we can't check out how young I was back then!  😂  Thanks for bringing back those memories!

Guess I’m not the only one having these problems. Wonder what the CC gremlins are up to, other than being really irritating. 😡
