Yikes!  If I pay for a dinner in Sel de Mer, I don't want to hear slot machines and the blaring noise that they put out.

And I'm a gambler, but the casino is the only place they belong.

The sound is off, so you won't hear anything - but still.......they need to stay in the casino

It's another unwelcome development. The Ocean Bar has been our go-to lounge through the years. We have an NS booked on the Konigsdam this spring and a cruise on the QE a month later. It will be an interesting comparison.

Well, at least that's something.  First thing I do when I sit down at a machine is turn the sound almost all the way down.  People sit there with it just blasting noise and don't seem to notice.  I hate it.

Maybe they didn't know they could turn off the noise. I didn't!

Are slot machines appearing in other areas outside the casino on other ships?    They are now in the Ocean Bar on the Koningsdam

Well done on this video. You need to send that to Gus's office.

Sorry to ask this. What is "an" NS on the Koningsdam? By QE I assume you mean the QE2.

Not that I agree with installing them in the Ocean Bar, but it would be a smoke-free environment.

I was just going to add that perhaps it is to accommodate the non-smokers since players are allowed to smoke while playing in the casino, at last the last time we were on HAL, late 2018, I think.

(I am breaking my silence to voice a contrary opinion.)  I am not a gambler but I think having a few quiet slots scattered about might be a good revenue generator for the ships and a better environment for us casual coin droppers.  I don't mind playing slots but I am very casual about it and really don't like the casino environment - it is just too hard core for me.  A few solo quiet slots would provide some casual entertainment.   I agree about not having the noise or flashy lights outside of the casino.

They do seem to have  a few players every time I walk by.

Who cares. I lost interest in gambling a couple of decades ago, so no problem walking by. As long as there isn't non-stop smoking there, which there shouldn't be under HAL's rules. And I have been seen getting a pre dinner drink or two in the Ocean Bar.

Funny how people are SOOOO happy capacities are low... a money losing situation for HAL, but are crying about smaller portions, extra charges and any revenue increaser that comes along.
