The 2 main pools start at 5 ft 2 in and go to 7ft 1 in.  I have not been doing as much swimming as planned but was in yesterday and the water was very warm.  When the weather is ideal, there will very likely be several people in the pools making true swimming laps unrealistic.

At times both main pool areas can be noisy depending on what activity is going on eg MUTS movie or live band or DJ playing tunes.

It's been that way on all their ships for as long as I can remember.

Thank goodness for the Retreat pool area.

Thank you for the pool information. The deck plan on the Princess site lanes one pool , very far forward , on Deck 16 as a Lap Pool, and also calls it the Lotus Pool...is that the one referred to as below the Sanctuary?

We were on the Sky Princess in Nov , and it had the Retreat pool for adults only, is the Lotus /lap pool adults only and free ? I know the Sactuary has a fee. Thanks for all the information 😊

Years ago the Lotus Pool had a jet so you could swim laps in place (I was on a ship with that feature still operable one time, years ago, but they have all been removed). It was fun but challenging at first if you are not used to it.

Both the Lotus pool (depending on sun angle) and the Terrace pool (because of Skywalkers above) can be shaded at different times of day. Just no permanently covered pool on CB.

Appreciate all the additional info on the pools ! I have seen ads for pool current lap type pools , would be interesting to try on, too bad no longer operational for lap swimming .

Does anyone know how depth of the LOTUS AND Terrace pools ?

 Thanks😊

We're on board March 6 with daughters and granddaughters.  Older GD has to give the school a form detailing the educational opportunities she'll take part in while out of school.  Things like visiting museum, zoos, aquariums, historical sites.  We can find something in port but what about sea days?  Their mother will register the girls in the teen program but what sort of things do they do?  Have you noticed any activities listed in the dailies?

Perhaps someone onboard can be more precise on depth. I am 5'6" and in the Lotus pool I can stand easily, it's maybe 4' or so? At the Terrace pool it quickly gets deep, perhaps 7' at the most aft end.

I googled a photo of it and the yellow sign at the foot of the steps says 4 feet 9 inches which I agree with (I was in the pool a month ago). The pool is the same depth in the center and shallower along the edges.

Do you know which dining room they are using for Club Class?  Wasn't sure if it changed with one dining  room being used for staff.  I always found it handy with the Window Suite to get to CC dining.

Most CC dinking rooms are the mid ship DR entrance to the left

When we were on the Caribbean Princess a few years ago the Art Gallery had seminars about different artists or type of art.  We attending a talk about Thomas Kinkade and afterward they had a scavenger hunt - gave us a list of items we had to find in his artwork that was set up around the room and had prizes at the end.  It was actually kind of fun.  Maybe the kids could also attend a cooking demonstration.  We have also done a Behind the Scenes tour of the ship.  Saw and learned a lot but not sure if they are doing that with Covid.

They began when younger and money was not an issue. We began when we were 50 and 49. We took our teenage daughters on our first cruise. We will most likely never be Elite, but that is ok.

There were about 150 passengers staying on from last week.  They managed to get everyone off the ship faster than previous week, but there was an inspection to be done that required no passengers on the ship so we were held in the terminal for nearly an hour.  We received 2 drink coupons each for our patience.  I was told it was the port authority ding he inspection and it was safety related.

There are currently 1,117 passengers on the ship which is about the same as the number of crew.  The average passenger age continues to be much less than prior years in the Caribbean.  Pre-teens are rare but lots in their 20 and 30's.

Great weather for our day in Princess Cay today.

The only thing I have heard about sales for staying on for next cruise is it is half price - would not include the plus package or port fees in sale price.  Also heard there is no single supplement.    The future sales person has been busy.  There has been very little promotion of this on the ship, so hard to provide any other info.

There is very little 'educational' for teens on sea days.  Once a week there is a cooking demo in the theatre.  There are port lectures and sometimes a special lecture such as last week a lecture on Spice.  The art dept is here to make sales but they do some lecture and build a lot of info into their sales attempts.  I have no idea how ez-air would work.  I have convinced Freda to add to our stay

Club class is in the Coral dining room on deck 6.

“Attended a daily lecture on maritime navigation, meteorology and history delivered by a certified professional in the field”. Promptly at noon, broadcast on the Tannoy and on the bridge cam channel.

Really intolerable when they bring a kid in diapers in the pool or hot tub.  It’s one of my few pet peeves.

It wouldn't take me more than a minute to have a crew member remind them about it.😖

IF you could get them to do it.

That is one breaking of the rules that will get Princess' attention as it is a big health and safety violation.

Report it to the nearest crew member, but do not be surprised if the pool is then closed to be drained, cleaned and refilled.

Hi Waynetor, thanks for posting this helpful information.  We will be sailing on the Caribbean Princess from February 13-20.  Just wondered about Ocho Rios right now.  Are passengers allowed to move about on their own without an escorted tour.  I read that there have been restrictions but not sure if they are still in place.  With the cancellation of a stop in Grand Cayman next week, (which we love and were looking forward to) we are hoping we can at least have some freedom to leave the ship in Jamaica.  Any info on this would be very much appreciated.  We are also from Ontario, Canada and are so looking forward to be cruising with Princess again.  It's been two years since our last one and this will be our 27th with Princess.  Enjoy your vacation!

Job well done! It is a lovely goal, but I am quite doubtful we will make it. And money was also always an issue. And of course we (and everyone else) were not collecting any days in the last two years.

@Thrak You are an inspiration and we will book away and try to catch up. I read one of your posts a while back and thought we would be on the same cruise, but no.

Answer for depth of Terrace pool - 5 ft 2in.  Due to the Skywalkers part of the ship being above the pool, it is often shaded.

We did not get off last week in Jamaica, but I heard from others that they did private tours.  I've done tours there in the past so next week will likely just do a hike of some kind.  Other than shopping I don't think there is a lot to see near the port.

We are about half done this voyage, no matter how long the trip, time does keep moving.

Today at trivia with about 15 teams we were part of a 7 way tie with 17 right answers.  Then we were part of a 4 way tie after 1st tie breaker but lost on how many movies Elvis made.  Never had a game like that.
