Ordering drinks delivered to room

Trying to figure out how ordering drinks to the room works using the Medallion app and a Premier Beverage package.  Do I have have to order two drinks (wife and I) using our individual apps (1 each) or can I order 2 drinks using only the one app?  If we order using only one app, both drinks get allocated to the same Premier Beverage package?  That is fine, we would just alternate cards when required.  If we order each using our individual apps, will the drinks be delivered at the same time by the same person?  Is ordering drinks faster than the usual room service delivery time?

We got off Emerald a couple of weeks ago and when ordering room service through our stateroom TV we were able to order 2 beverages (1 for each of us) without logging off as one person and then logging on and ordering as the other.

When you add the drinks to your cart it will look like there is a charge but when you finalize the order it will show that zero is owed.

Hmmmm ..., that's a good question but, oddly enough, I never thought to ask. What I can tell you is that when we both had the Premium Bev package when we were on the Sky for 2 weeks in December, we ordered alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees to our cabin via the Medallion App on several occasions, and were never charged. Same when we would order beverages via the App when we were up on deck. Also, in the restaurants and bars, and at the IC, when we ordered 2 drinks they would always only ask for 1 medallion, and we were never charged.  I believe our accounts were linked, so they knew we were together and both had the package. Hope that helps.

You need to each order. If one person orders 2 drinks on the app you will be charged for the second…as I found out to my cost. So we always ordered one on the tv under one name and one on the app under the other name. DH didn’t have a smart phone!!

Not sure when you cruised last but that never happened to us two weeks ago. Maybe the crew is getting the hang of the technology. I always ordered two drinks on my app and were never charged, room service, Princess Cay or throughout the ship.

I just got off the Ruby Hawaii Feb 10-25 and we were able to order up to 4 drinks on the app at a single time.  All four got charged to the person who placed the order.   As long as you didn't exceed the 15 drinks then you weren't charged for the four drinks.

Between the two of us we could each order 4 drinks for a total of 8 drinks delivered to our room and as long as we hadn't exceeded the 15 drink limit all of the drinks arrived with zero charge.   Once you hit 15 drinks then you are charged.  The app will show if you owe a balance or if it is $0 owed to your account.

We both had the Princess Plus on this cruise.

The app worked best when ordering to your room.  Then delivery was under 30 minutes and usually 10 minutes.  When you ordered by the pool you never knew when or if you would get your order.  So when having lunch and wanting to drink beer, I would order two at once.  Order times when not in your room ranged from 10 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.

I do not recommend ordering food to be delivered anywhere except to your room.  Nothing like receiving your order of cheesy fries after 1 1/2 hours and chomping into your ice cold of cold fries with coagulated cheese on top.   I still can't believe they delivered something so unappetizing.

It would be an easy choice for us. We would order drinks to the cabin on my wife's account as, between the two of us, she is by far the "lighter" drinker. I think the max she ordered with the beverage package was 6 drinks in a day.

If both drinks were to go on only one of our accounts then one of us is going to run out before we hit the casino in the evening. We will continue to drink mostly at bars with two separate accounts. We can easily hit 10 or more every day

It appears that with the Princess Plus program they aren't as concerned about people sharing drinks with others that didn't buy it.

In the "old days" this wasn't possible.

We've been on 3 ships since the restart; this was not the case on any of them.

I was under the understanding from reading other posts on this subject, that if you order a drink from room service you will be charged, but if you use your app on your phone you will not be charged. Isn't ordering from the tv room service ??

From what I've been reading, no matter how you order your drinks it's totaled the same way.

There are still some folks who don't have a smart phone to place orders while some just refuse to use a phone at all.

No matter how we order I'll be checking my tab closely.

From what I have been reading from those on board if you have the beverage package, plus fares, you will not be charged for included drinks delivered to your cabin no matter how ordered. In the past room service was excluded from the beverage package, but it is included now.

We had Princess Plus on our cruise in November, and ordered many drinks to our cabin, and paid absolutely nothing.

Since the introduction of the medallion there is no separate room service menu in a folder in the cabin. It is all on the app. Drinks and food all delivered free though there could be a charge for some items.

On the Regal last month, room service was speedy. It took 12 minutes. I ordered the chicken tacos, Caesar salad, guacamole and chips, Key lime pie, and a beer. One room service steward brought everything.

If you check your account on your tv, does it show every beverage (alcohol) even if you have a drink package?

From memory, no. It only shows those items that will be charged to your account.

From what I'm reading you can order food item to be brought anywhere on the ship.

Do you think it's possible to order a item brought to the buffet area?

My husband really likes their key lime pie & we've never seen it at the buffet, only small lime tartlets, which aren't the same.
