Alright, I'm sucked in. Why was the guy so mad that he trashed the room? Did that have something to do with the daughter charging the rolexes? Was the daughter originally in a room with her mother, and her mother's boyfriend? And that boyfriend is not a boyfriend of the two guys?

And they have extra TVs onboard to replace torn down ones but not pinot grigio?

Yeah and the TVs are made in China. Go figure. Lol

I think the point was that the adult adughter might well have other resoures in spite of it having been her Mom's CC which was linked to her cruise account.

For example, when I cruise with one of my adult children I often end up being the one to check everyone in, and then I just link everythingto my credit card.  The kids are both happy with that arrangement and just give us cash to cover the small amount they sped on board (or if it is only tips we usually cover that for them, because they're young and we like to help out some).   But they also both have their own credit cards and bank accounts, ATM cards, etc they could use in any kind of emergency whether travelling with me or without.

It could have well been something similar: maybe Mom paid for the cruise as a gift and to get to spend time with her daughter and linked her card expecting to end up covering some gratuities and maybe a specialty meal or two and cut it off when daughter abused the kindness, but daughter might still have her own credit cards and other funds she can use to return to the USA.

Fine, but we do not know the actual circumstance.  We also assume that she had other financial resources at her disposal, whether her or the FL boyfriend, to get out of Nassau.

No matter how bad you don't abandon blood.

The way I read it was 2 guys in one cabin, Mom & daughter in another. The boyfriend of the guy in cabin #1 gets booted off for trashing the cabin and the daughter moves into the now trashed cabin #1 with the remaining guy and accuses him of stealing.

The two guys and mom & daughter were causal cruise friends.

At least that's my interpretation.  This story is reaching "BEE" level intensity.😉😇

That was my initial understanding, but in reading on I'm getting confused.😁

We usually travel with another couple and my friend likes crushed red pepper on some things. We have taken 5 cruises since startup, the last on Mariner a couple of weeks ago. Many nights she asked for it in the MDR on all the cruises, and it was sad that they tried so hard to get some, but they couldn’t.

While on Mariner she finally went to Sorrentos and asked for crushed red pepper and brought that to MDR each night. I think for now on she’ll just bring a baggie of red pepper to dinner😳

I had the same issue and was offered tabasco sauce, hot wings sauce, etc.  You have to ask for crushed chili pepper, otherwise some wait staff don't understand what you are asking for when you say crushed red pepper or crushed hot pepper.

They have stocked TVs but no stocked alcohol?

Gee, perhaps the TV's have been stocked for a couple of years?  They are, after all, "durable goods" and not something that is replaced weekly.

Fortunately,  there are more people drinking Pinot than there are destroying TV's.

So, two guys are sharing a cabin. (In a relationship). The room gets trashed.  Only one guy gets thrown off the ship, but one guy gets to stay?   I would think that both would be asked to leave the ship.

It would seem like it wouldn't it?  The only thing I can think of is that the innocent guy was not in the room when the incident occurred. Perhaps he was still gambling in the Casino and a neighbor reported the noise and security went up to check and only saw the perpetrator there? Who knows? The victim agreed to pay the $6,000 so maybe that bought him leniency.  But I'm sure it didn't look good when he took in the crazy-wild-chick (to replace the room-trasher) who accused him of stealing from her.  IDK the whole story sounds Whack-a-Doodle.

This is one interesting thread. I can understand the boyfriend and mother carrying on the cruise. After all, they got rid of the crazies they were traveling with and got to have some peace and quiet. But the boyfriend taking in the crazy daughter, not so much. He had gotten rid of one crazy, why would he want another one...

Absolutely correct. Security comes. Then a psych exam. Then escorted to the ship jail. Then the boyfriend is notified. Then the boyfriend is told pay $ to fix room, pay $ for psych exam, get him a direct flight & a car service to meet us in port or we press charges.

some people attract crazy. Or crazy are really good at finding those they can take advantage of.

I have to confess, this thread is more interesting than the majority of the threads over the last 2 years.

Inquiring minds still want to know:

1. Why did the boyfriend trash the cabin?

2. Why didn’t the mother make her daughter return the watches?

That's my question - if the daughter was tossed off for abusing her mom's card, among other things, why the heck didn't they make her return the watches?

We are on the Harmony and had a couple put off the ship too.  I have no idea why but they were seen at Guest Services with all their luggage on a cart and made the comment as they were moved away “let’s get the Hell off of here!”…😳😳

This was in St Thomas….

I was on Harmony last week. Someone vandalized our luggage before we got to our room. We were told that individual was disembarked in St. Maarten.

On board CC cut off is quite different in having your child stranded in a foreign country, no matter what the circumstances.  On land (USA) it would be different.

I'm sorry, but my child is 22yo and has been out of the house since he graduated high school.  We have B2B cruises scheduled next year, and if he acts a fool and gets himself kicked off the ship in Mexico, he's on his own.

He'll be 23yo at that point, and while I love him dearly, he's known the word "consequences" since he was 2yo.  You actions, your choices, have consequences.... if a 2yo can understand that, a 20-something can understand that.

That really stinks!!

In 2019 I had a guy in casino steal from me on night 1.  I sat with 2 security guys to watch video then identify the person sitting at casino bar.  He was removed from the bar and I was told he would be dealt with.  About an hour later a security offer returned the cash that was stolen from me along with a voucher for dinner for 2 at any specialty restaurant.   The officer did tell me the guy apologized and felt horrible for what he did but did not tell me what would happen to the guy.  Never heard.  Casino host was constantly checking on me everytime I was in casino.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. What a terrible way to start a vacation. The behavior of people sometimes really shocks me. I’m even more shocked that people don’t realize they are on camera. What a terrible thing to do. I wish I could say I hope they learned their lesson. But if you’re going to sink to that level maybe it’s to late to learn anything. Hope you still had a wonderful vacation & are thinking about investing in good locks for your luggage.

I don't think "stealing" when I see the word "vandalized"... not sure how a lock would prevent vandalism?
