I agree, too many D+.  It will be rare that D+ get into any Concierge Club on any ship.

Don't recall the numbers on the TA. We sailed at about 2400 passengers and lots of children, unusual for TA but there was a 2 week school holiday in the UK.  Also 2/3 of passengers were not US citizens or residents.   Not sure how that adds up.

We are on anthem now, and could get in the last two weeks as P, as there are less than 100 sailing

As for Ps over the holiday, it depends on the cost. If the cruise is cheap, there will be a lot of Ps on board. But in my experience, holiday cruises are expensive.

Serenade sailing week 12/3...indeed 66 Pins, not allowed in CL.  This week 12/10, 54 Pinnies, still not allowed in CL.  Was told by Jasmine, the LA....only 24 Pinnacles next week.  They are back to CL.

She has been doing a good job of taking care of the Pinnacle "private event" which is a roped off section of the VCL.

I would guess that D+ will have access to the Diamond lounge (only) unless they are booked in a suite.   Since pinnacles are often denied access, there is no way D+ will be allowed.

Totally agree there.

.....unless you sail on the exception ships on certain sailings which do allow D+ in the CL.

Dear Diamond Plus Members,

As we reflect on 2022, there is so much to be thankful for. Our full fleet is back in service and our ships are once again bustling with happy guests making memories that will last a lifetime.

The Crown & Anchor® Society continues to grow as we welcome new members each day and existing members continue to sail. And while we are excited for the growth of our program, we must remain mindful of our onboard operations to ensure that we continue to deliver the award-winning experience you know and love.

One of the published benefits of Diamond Plus members has been access to the Concierge Lounge on ships that lack a Suite Lounge, including:

  • Quantum of the Seas
  • Anthem of the Seas
  • Ovation of the Seas
  • Radiance of the Seas
  • Brilliance of the Seas
  • Serenade of the Seas
  • Jewel of the Seas
  • Explorer of the Seas
  • Grandeur of the Seas
  • Enchantment of the Seas
  • Rhapsody of the Seas
  • Vision of the Seas

Access has been largely based on guest count and lounge capacity levels, which are assessed on a voyage-by-voyage basis. Due to high counts of top-tier members on most sailings, we have had to limit access to the Concierge Lounge altogether.

As a result, we have made the decision to standardize Concierge and Suite Lounge access across the fleet. This means that beginning on sailings departing on or after December 16th, 2022, both Concierge and Suite Lounge access on all ships will be limited to eligible Suite guests and Pinnacle Club members only. This change is reflected on our updated Member Benefits Grid.

Sincerely,

Crown & Anchor Society

You called it. They just announced the policy change, officially banning D+ from Concierge lounge.

Standardization is not a quality that RCI maintains.  😉

Though I am happy to see them finally make a fleet wide policy change.  Frustrating when it is ship to ship differences.   Seems the magic number for non-suite Pinnies for access to CL/SL is having under 30 on any given cruise.  Not sure if that one is ship to ship either.  😵

We got the email around 1 pm today.  We had access asD+ on EN this past year, but on Jewel in Nov we did not.  Honestly, we just go to the DL regardless of what ship.  Funny thing is, we've met more Pinns in the DL than in the CL.
