👀I spot a few different people wearing shorts on formal night. 👀 Just saying... 😄

They don’t enforce it strictly but most people at MDR are semi dressed up.  At Windjammer it is a free for all!

This must be a change because when I first sailed on the Oasis a long time ago there wasn't any complementary food at the Vitality Cafe on the Oasis. Is this the setup in the Vitality Cafe on all Oasis class ships?

At all Oasis Class ships the Vitality Cafe food is complimentary except the drinks.  It’s the same food you can get at Cafe Promenade except for the granola bar and banana bread!

For any type of allergy they waiter will call the head waiter over for a discussion.  It is not indicated on the menu.  I overheard a discussion today and it made me cringe because some of the information provided was not correct.

Well that's......scary.....  She does know how to advocate for herself, but that is a little unnerving

Speak with the head waiter and make sure they know exactly what you are asking.  Ask for specifics…

I have been enjoying your review as I take this same cruise in October.  I noticed on the compass that Vitality cafe shows as a free food option.  I think the light snacks are free but the smoothies cost extra.  Is that correct?  And do you know the average price for them? Thank you.

Omg...your CC name! Love it!!!

Benny, don't know if you are doing MDR tonight, but there was a dessert I hadn't seen before that was pretty darn good.  It is some kind of brownie thing served in a the little glass like you have shown above.

I bet you mean the dark chocolate brownie. We had it on Odyssey last month, first time I'd seen it too. It was amazing! 😋

The only thing I can think of is the dark chocolate brownie with cream

My kids had it and liked it. Us adults thought it was too rich.  And I like my sweets!

Benny,

I’d like to thank you for the many observations you’ve made and pictures you’ve attached showing life on the Oasis this past week. As I will be traveling on the Oasis this coming July 8th, I followed your present voyage as well as your May trip with special interest. In late August, we will also be going to Bermuda on the Adventure of the Seas and followed your virtual tour of that ship.

I’m constantly amazed that you find the time to post all your messages and it takes me 10 minuets just to compose this short message.
Clearly you enjoy the cruising experience and your posts reflect that.

Keep posting and thanks again.

(notes to self: wear foot apparel on the Promenade, go back in Bennys virtual tour and check which machine in Casino paid the $6,000 jacket and don’t play it as it’s probably tapped out)

Thanks so much… you picked two of my favorite ships also the most convenient too for me.  You will have a great time… just remember that adventure of the seas is much older so get your activity/ show fix on the Oasis and relax on the Adventure of the Seas.  Also remember that slot machine is very fickle so don’t go by just one picture!   Have an amazing cruise!

For a ship so large and with a lot of people, the venues for certain events is perplexing. On our May cruise we found two to be especially disappointing.

One is the above -- Spotlight Karaoke (previously OnAir) is woefully small for the very popular events they have there. RCL must know how popular these events are -- but puts them in a cozy, small venue??

The other was the Music Hall (previously Dazzles). Maybe it depends on the sailing and the bands but when we tried to see Phoenix there in May it was a real struggle. Very very few seats have a good sightline to the stage, in fact most of the deck 8 seats are facing perpendicular to the stage. What ? And lots of poles in the way.  The deck nine seats are almost all "audio-only", unless you get Benny's seat by the rail. The one time they tried to have Phoenix in the Aquatheare ( a good choice of venue), they couldn't get the sound to work.

Probably a logistical challenge but they need to utilize the theatre and Aquatheater more for these high-attendance events.

Completely agree.  The karaoke place had several events that we wanted to watch.  We had a hard time even finding standing room.  And the events are back to back but no one leaves when the first one is done.  They seem to park there for a few hours.  The Star Lounge on the Freedom Class is much better for these events.  Music Hall/Dazzles is the biggest waste of space on the ship.  Sight lines are terrible and the loud music is unbearable at times.
