Who do you report violations of the smoking or vaping policy to?  Right when you’re breathing it or later.  Closest employee maybe?  What about Guest Services or Security?

Closest stripe.  They should involve security.  If nothing happens then Guest Relations Director then Hotel Director.

Thanks.  Stripe is employee or senior staff?

I e-mailed a letter of complaint to the Executive Office on the afternoon of July 4th.  I didn't expect to receive the form letter on the holiday, but it is now 4 PM Alaska Standard time on July 6 and still no response.  And yes -- I checked the spam folder.  Time to send another.

Anyone remember the Galaxy Note 7 fire issues? I vaguely remember them being banned from planes.

However many of the vapes I see on ships are the disposable ones. They are not rechargeable.

I don't remember that at all (hides). I did work on the power management for some of the processors in those. However, it was determined to be the battery. Talk about a sigh of relief on my part.

Hmmm. So those who vape would have their experience enhanced by being able to vape in the casino. Presumably, X got this feedback on some post-cruise surveys. The following sentence is pure BS…why would a casino guest that is not a vaper say ANYTHING about vaping in the casino WHEN VAPING IS NOT ALLOWED? How many non-vaping casino guests did they ask? Those of us who do NOT vape DO NOT appreciate the vaper that turns their head to the side and exhales their vape on us. As a non-vaper, i would hope that the rest of my ilk would leave the table when a vaper sits down. Let the casino manager see it happen!  The ‘test’ began shortly after final payment on my Equinox cruise…and the cruise will be part of the ‘test.’

My thoughts as well.  Why would I or any other non-vaper even think to mention that I would be happy to have vapers in the casino.  As a chronic asthmatic and migraine sufferer I'm not happy to have any scents anywhere but that is beside the point. Perfumes happen, but vapes don't have to.

Has anyone ever seen this question on the questionaire?   Or is it something they are pulling out of their hats

This was my email to Celebrity which hasn't warranted a response:

To Whom It May Have Power:

As a RCCL shareholder and Celebrity Elite Plus cruiser with B2B sailings booked for 2024 on the Eclipse, which is one of the two ships which are now permitting "vaping" in the casino, I am appalled by this decision to "test" this health-impairing potential policy change.

Please stop this short-sighted, dangerous "experiment" now.

On further consideration, we should look at the "word of mouth" communication approach as a fantastic opportunity:

Let's use every chance we get to tell everyone we meet about how vaping is not allowed. "They thought about it and then reconsidered. That's why they took the signs away." What are they going to do, write a letter? No sign allowing means not allowed.

That is my version, and I'm sticking with it.

I sent an Email yesterday with my concerns about future Vaping policies on Celebrity ships and included our CC points level and CC membership numbers.

I received an Email from them this morning saying they were Bla Bla Bla and thanked me for contacting them.

One problem with allow vaping in the casino is that it will encourage more smokers to sail on Celebrity.  Many of those smokers will not be able to resist vaping in other places, like their cabin or the veranda.

They already have too many smoking cigarettes on the balconies, has been an issue on every Celebrity cruise since Covid and when complained to Guest Services nothing seems to stop.

Four days so far - no reply to my email. Seems odd that some get responses the next day and others like me, are not getting them at all - at least not yet.  Don't get it.  If they're only sending canned responses anyway why would this be?

Agree. As it is now we always have people smoking on balconies near us on every cruise we go on. We often times just go back into our cabin.

I just received this response from the email I sent yesterday:

Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to contact the Executive Offices at Celebrity Cruises.

This test is currently taking place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th. It is a test at this point, and all feedback is being taking into consideration, so again, thank you.

As a brand we will continue to keep our guests as the main focus, and you taking the time to reach out is truly beneficial and appreciated. Again, thank you so much for the feedback provided regarding our recent change.

Sincerely,

Executive Office

I never did even get a canned response back from Celebrity.  I guess you must be Zenith to get a reply.

We are not Zenith and got a reply within 24 hours.

I always make sure that all messages I send include at least 1 specific question that needs a response (even if it's just a generic one) and that has always worked.

Zenith is top tier, I guess?

i haven’t seen a reply.  I can’t tell them I’ll quit as I don’t want to.  Two more cruises booked.  And I think it was @davekathy who taught me to go up 5 decks and down 10 to avoid the casino.  So I have nothing to worry about.  🥸

The executive office just called me.  They said they would pass along my feedback and in the trial vaping is limited to certain areas and only while playing.  I reiterated that I think this it's being ignored onboard already and people will vape anywhere and they cannot contain the"smoke" to certain areas.  I did not get the impression they were really interested. 😞

You and me both.

I am on Eclipse after the test but what if they expand it?  Then it becomes my problem.  I will look at deck plans in case I need to avoid the casino.  If possible.

I'm sure the Revenue Director would say, if given the opportunity, that this is NOT a problem, but the very point of this experiment.  More people booking cabins = more cabin revenue and more casino revenue. 🤑

We’re elite plus and received a response from the CEO the next day, then another the following day in response to a second matter. We also received a form letter from executive office.
We do sail in suites but mostly sky.

Never said that. I'd like to take credit for that but it's a well known fact how to avoid smoking areas.
