dog Posted June 20 #52 Share Posted June 20 Maybe they are doing this so those of us who got $900 per cabin OBC in the 3 day sale will not wait to purchase packages. 4

Using OBC's to purchase a package onboard nets no money for Princess but convincing people to pay an additional $840.00 on average for a 7 day cruise($120.00 x 7) adds up quickly and literally cost Princess zero dollars to implement. Totally agree... ⬆️ I'll stick with Plan A and use my OBC towards Plus.
Rare Ken the cruiser Posted June 20 #54 Share Posted June 20 (edited) 48 minutes ago, t&atravel said: Not correct. 7 nights in a suite = 2 credits, 14 days New promotion = 4 credits, 28 days. Did something change? I always thought we get the same number of cruise day credits regardless of whether we booked a suite or not. For example, we went on a 25-day "single itinerary" cruise in a vista suite and received 2 cruise credits and 25 cruise day credits. However, if this promotion applied to that cruise, we would have gotten 4 cruise credits and 50 days in cruise day credits. Moving On Up Each voyage moves you closer to the next loyalty level.2 Book and sail in a full suite or pay the exclusive occupancy fare when traveling solo, and you'll receive two cruise credits instead of one.3 And because we also track the number of days you spend with us, longer cruises can give you a boost too. 1Residents of the EEA are required to enroll to be Captain’s Circle Members and receive their loyalty benefits by registering on princess.com and creating a My Princess account. 2Members are eligible for a higher tier level on the next cruise following completion of necessary cruises and/or cruise days. Land portion of cruisetour does not apply. Only cruises taken on Princess® and P&O Australia count toward the Princess Captain’s Circle Program. P&O UK cruises are no longer eligible. 3Princess Captain's Circle Double cruise credits for booking and sailing in a full suite (mini-suites excluded) or sailing at the exclusive occupancy fare are effective with sailings beginning on or after December 7, 2008. Cruises only, and not cruise days are doubled. The exclusive occupancy fare is for solo guests occupying a stateroom alone and who paid the single traveller supplement. In other words, don’t penalize Elites who purchase the packages. Yes…foregoing the elite minibar for a credit would be getting closer to making packages cost-effective for my style of cruising. 🤑 On our recent cruise it took 3 days to get our minibar exchanged…and the same number of days to receive our TA’s gift of chocolate coverage strawberries for sailaway! 🙄
Rare geoherb Posted June 20 #56 Share Posted June 20 I wish Princess would bring back loyalty credits. It doesn't do me any good to have more cruise credits if they're not adding any levels past Elite. I guess the double cruise days will be good for my next cruise, but it won't really help if the super passengers are loading up on cruises during this period. The No. 1 couple on my last cruise had 2,035 days. I met a lot of folks on my last cruise who were doing several back-to-back cruises in a row: 10-, 11-, and 15-day cruises.

So don't get too excited if you're going on a CruiseTour. So disappointed!!! The land portion of a cruisetour has never counted toward loyalty levels. Only days at sea are counted. Of course this has nothing at all to do with cruise credits anyway... To me, this new thing just means my laundry will probably end up taking longer to come back. We didn't make Elite based on cruise credits - we made it based on days at sea so our 14th cruise was as Elite. (If not for the constraints of work it would have been sooner but we did a couple of really short cruises that fit into our work schedules.)
Rare startedwithamouse Posted June 20 #58 Share Posted June 20 6 hours ago, LACruiser88 said: You are correct and I was incorrect. I just read the promotion from their web site (below), that was not clear in the press release. ANY guest who purchases Princess Plus or Princess Premier package at least two days prior to sailing and who sails during the sailing time period (August 1 – December 1, 2024) qualifies and will have their cruise and # of days cruised count double towards their Captain’s Circle level achievement. So, our 32-day cruise on the Coral in October will count as 64-days. Not that we need the credits! 🤣 Nice - you get those days!

So_Tweetie Posted June 20 #63 Share Posted June 20 I have a cruise booked in that timeframe with the Plus package, but this doesn't impact me since I'm already Elite. In my opinion this would be a great promotion to offer exclusively for Premier in an effort to get Plus package holders to upgrade. For them to offer it on both package levels makes me think that they're having trouble getting people to even buy Plus. Will this actually motivate people who were not going to buy a package to upgrade?

I think Plus makes sense for a majority of customers at the current price point, that's why I'm surprised to see this promotion apply for Plus. I don't have access to their sales figures but assume that a huge number of people go for Plus while only a few go for Premier. It would be a really good incentive if limited to Premier. It looks like most premier packages are being sold on short 4-7 day cruises. When we are on 14-21 day cruises I see few people with premier or the specialty and casual venues would be more crowded. rwmiller Posted June 20 #70 Share Posted June 20 Have we gotten confirmation that the supplemental cruise credits (suite, solo bonus) are also doubled? I have read through the Princess description of the promotion, and it is not obvious to me they are also double. I have a lot of OBC for an upcoming cruise and much is non-refundable (promotional, shareholder, military) that I was planning on spending for the Plus package (and not pay the insurance 9% on top). Now this promotion has me thinking of buying the package early as double suite credit would push us to Elite on this upcoming B2B cruises. Can someone tell me if unused non-refundable OBC rolls over to the second B2B cruise? If so, I can buy packages for the first cruise early and second onboard. Also, how strict are they on use of OBC for casino charges? With all gratuities / drinks paid for, I would have a hard time using my OBC if not in the casino. Thanks all, Bob

It may be the demographics on those cruising out of SF, because they aren’t heavy into buying the packages fro thrust port. 1

We've been Elite for years. How about tossing us a few benefits instead of adding more Elite to the ranks, Princess? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the nickel and diming would soon include selling loyalty status to everyone on the ship.

Thanks all, Bob On my most recent cruises, the OBC definitely has transfered over to your 2nd or 3rd leg of your cruise. I also have nearly enough OBC to pay for the plus package on the 2nd leg for both of us on our B2B in August. While we have a premier package on the first leg, we were just going to purchase the plus package on 2nd leg using our OBC. I don’t think we will change our plans based on 7 extra days of cruise days. I’d be more than happy to use it in the casino and buy the package ahead of time but only if the casino was nonsmoking.
