We LOVED the non smoking Casino on the Majestic on our NYE cruise.  I guess we will be heading back to Celebrity so that we can enjoying our gambling in a non smoking casino.

I say this as someone who has never had any interest in cigarettes and hates cigarette smoke.  I will have an occasional cigar.  In the casino on the Sky the smoking portion was really no big deal to me at all.  I know there were cigarette smokers there, it just wasnt an issue for me.  Literally only 1-2% of the public areas on these ships even allow smoking.

This is a photo from the Vista Lounge window/starboard side on the Grand on disembarkation day/April 4.

I did not spend much time on the Promenade Deck during the cruise so am unable to verify smoking areas.  There were many areas that were "under maintenance" and roped off during the cruise.

If the print is too small:  "Working in quarantine Teammate's SMOKING AREA"

All Princess Grand and Royal Class ships have a small smoking area on deck 7 starboard aft. This is not new. What is new is the covid related sign where the area now seems to be limited to crew members that are working in the quarantine section of the ship. Pre-covid these areas were open to all crew and passengers for cigarette smoking.

Correct. I had not seen that specific wording before, hence my post.

If you have not come across this survey, please take a moment to answer two quick questions.  Not that Question #2 is a further breakdown for those who answer NO to Question #1.  Thanks.

Thanks to all who responded and voted in the Survey referred to above.  I was going to ask for it to be closed down today, but I see @Host CJSKIDS already did that.  I have written an email to Mr Siebaldi and Customer Relations and included a copy/paste of the results.  About 300 CC members voted in the survey with a pretty steady result of 93% in favor of banning smoking in the Casinos.  I think it is not a stretch to expect a 90% favorable rating from the general Princess customer base should there be a way to survey them.

owners?

Japan owned with the Gaming HQ in Las Vegas.  I used their Contact Us page to send a note.  Who knows if it will do any good or just go into the circular file.  IDK if the Asian influence will dictate keeping the smoking or not.  Have not been to Vegas in long time but I think I have heard that many/most casinos have gone no-smoking??

Not true about Las Vegas. All the casinos except Park MGM allow smoking. There may be one or two others that have banned smoking but for sure Park MGM has.

Thanks.  I thought I had read where some had.  My bad to say most without doing some checking.  I really did have the impression more than the one.  Must have another location mixed up.

Mea culpa.   Nope... just the one main one.  Must be someplace else.

I believe no smoking across Ontario and have not heard our casinos suffer for it.

There’s been two large resorts that opened recently, Resorts World and Circa. I haven’t been to either one or know their smoking policy. Perhaps being new they have taken the approach to not allow smoking but IDK. I believe some tribal casinos in California don’t allow smoking.

Thank you for your efforts @Steelers36, but I'm afraid it'll probably be for naught.  I voted to ban smoking in casinos.

I believe the survey the casino operators really care about is of gamblers, and especially of slot players who are the most profitable.  If you walk into any casino, you will most likely see many slot players with cigarettes dangling from their mouths while pounding on spin buttons for hours on end.

Cruise lines such as Carnival, Princes, Royal Caribbean, NCL have decided that the profit from those players outweigh any potential loss of business from people who dislike smoking in casinos.

Yes, but the smokers cannot just stroll down the street to the next casino that allows smoking.  If the casino is open, they will come.  I think at least half the smokers in the casino are there just to smoke.

Just off the Majestic. Most smokers in the casino were playing my issue was that the number of slot machines in the smoking area were 2-3 times the amount found in non smoking and there were no video poker machines in non smoking area

They are supposed to be playing.  The idea isn't that you show up to the casino just to smoke.  So, if that is being enforced, it is a good thing as far as it goes.

Yes our big complaint was that some of our favorite games were in only available in snaking area. We tried one night and had to leave the area after about 30 minutes due to coughing and burning eyes

We both received a survey today from WAVES by Carnival specifically about the casino smoking policy. I feel hopeful that policies may change.

Can anyone on here please tell me where the smoking areas are on the Enchanted Princess? I have searched this forum to no avail. I tried to use the chat on Princess web page, and the agent told me it changes each sailing. That does not sound correct.

For whatever reason I have seen them move the area from one side of ship to the other between sailings.
